I'm all about one thing: food. Whether devouring delectable dishes or dabbling in the kitchen, count me in! Sure, my cooking skills might not rival a master chef's, but I make up for it with my enthusiasm for every flavor imaginable.
As a Japanese American, my palate is diverse. From BBQ to ramen, I'm always on a culinary adventure. While I strive for healthy eating, I can't resist the allure of "junk food." And simplicity is key in my cooking - sometimes it's a hit, sometimes a miss, but it's always fun!

Hm never had a New York dog, but, I’m sure it’s different having a ketchup based sauce with the other ingredients mixed in as opposed to pure ketchup. As a Chicagoan I never understood the hate on ketchup with Chicago dogs considering they usually come with 2 fat slices of tomato on them 🤷🏻♂️
Nothing more than a chopped-up cheeseburger sub. There's nothing to "bite" into. I need something to bite into when I eat a sub. I'd rather have the whole burger.
@@keneats BTW, I wasn't criticizing you. I was commenting on the sandwich itself. You didn't create the sandwich; you were simply making it as it was intended to me made.
Nice. Was just talking with one of my friends who loves tacos about creating this exact hybrid. By the way, have you tried the new Deep Taco Doritos? 👍
I haven’t spotted it yet, but I see people posting the package. Have you tried it? What do you think? Not sure what “deep” is supposed to be, but I’m willing to try it.
Oh that's pretty cool and definitely simple I'm gonna try it. I love seltzer I usually have it around. I should probably stay away from the whole milk but YOLO 😂 lol
@@PositivelyHealthyVibes Yeah. It’s tasty. I got heavy with the chocolate syrup. You can use oat milk and other alternative “milk” products. The oat milk produces a nice thick head as well. Not sure of the others though.
@@CriticalEatsJapan This is a simple recipe and definitely makes for an awesome snack (as well as topping.) If you get a chance to try it out. You’ll end up always making these.
@@andreaskitchen8543 Thanks!!! It took quite a few experiments, some good, some not so good. This video is based on how they consistently ended up coming out good. Hopefully you have similar results. 😀👍✨
NO on the aluminum foil. Shouldn't ever touch your food. I know it's the easiest/best but it's unhealthy......So I'll try this by putting it into a corning ware casserole dish and see how that goes.
Just made this tonight. Used about 1 2/3 t of garlic powder, maybe 1/4 t of cayenne. I think this is actually better than Sabrett, and I love theirs! Thanks for posting this, it’s great!
That’s awesome to hear! I love Sabretts too, but since it’s almost impossible for me to find it here in Japan, had to do something about it. Glad to hear it seems to have worked out great for you and others!
I really don't like onions... but this is 10/10. I would eat a lot of this. I used 2 smallish vidalia onions. 1/2 c 1/2c ketchup/apple cider vinegar a bit of garlic and a bit of olive oil. I reduced it for longer than 15 minutes. its great. next time I will cut the onions smaller and maybe cut back on the vinegar or add some brown sugar because I was told it was too vinegary. I liked it though.
Hope it works out great for you. Sometimes there's a need to adjust according to your model of air fryer, and the cooking process. This should work fine though.
Very nice bro! it was my first time eating hot onions, and i loved it soo much, i'm from brazil and i love watching foodtruck POV and that made me really want to eat a NY hotdog!!
While I’ll always think the Chicago style dog is the best my second favorite is NY style and we are lucky to get Sabrett down here. I make these bad boys every now and then for the cravings
I do enjoy a good Chicago dog myself but here in Japan its hard to get a few of the ingredients (ok, impossible to get some of the ingredients). You'd think sport peppers, poppy seed buns, celery salt, etc. The list goes on... :(
whaddaya think is in a lot of BBQ sauce LOL ...Sabrett's onions w/ kraut and brown mustard ...the best hotdog ... Chicago dragged thru the garden is second
Yeah. Not surprising but wished they were still around. It was decent. Crappy marketing didn’t help. They used young girl TikTok influencers it seemed, from the occasions I was there saw girls acting cute and eating sloppy sandwiches. It was painful to watch.
I’ve made this for the first time for my hotdog, And it was delicious. It’s not complete without the sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard. And this is from a southerner. 😋
I agree. I definitely need the mustard, sauerkraut and this red onion sauce to call this a NY Hot Dog. Any hot dog I eat will need mustard and sauerkraut in general.
I use yellow or white onion, whatever I have laying around except red onions (Go figure...), as I use those on sandwiches or salads usually or to make Mexican pickled red onions, which will be a video sooner than later.
What should the meat temperature be for well done beef please ? We've had an air-fryer for a few months, but have only used it to cook chicken. Now today, I have been given the task to try roast beef for the first time. Agh ! Luckily we do have a thermometer, although I don't think it was ever opened, let alone used before.
I just made onions, not quite like this, tho'. Saute the onion in butter, added ketchup just too cover (not too much, don't want soup, little mustard. either prepared or dry, touch of cinnamon. Done.
As long as it tastes good. You can never go wrong with onions in any way! This recipe tastes like the red onion sauce that I had with my hot dogs I grew up eating in NY.
@@kens212 I'll try yours next time. I just grabbed a few on-hand ingredients when my local store didn't have the jar onions and I was dying for a hot dog. LOL
Oh yeah, I've had my share of eggs on top of this. I prefer something closer to classic Tex-Mex ingredients, but there can be a lot of different stuff this goes well with.
I used to go to a Chinese restaurant with a group of friends. We'd read our fortunes and say in bed after. Ex:. You will be successful....in bed. It was a good laugh!
Haha! Yes my co-workers and I did the same whenever we ordered Chinese for lunch and read our fortunes. At one point I was thinking about adding some comment about this at the end of the video, but forgot. It always works no matter what the fortune and makes the fortunes a lot funnier.
