Dear God kudos. You must’ve read about the competition between weavers trying to be the best. When the most successful won…she was the most perfect, offended the goddess, turned her into a spider. Arachne was her name.
I love all of those sculptures, my favourite being the polar bear, and the rhino is second. The half and half man to alien sculpture rather gives me an uncomfortable feeling when I look at the whole sculpture as one piece. However, the grey two pieces with the books between was more easy on my mind. I would absolutely LOVE to see.the dark blue shards of plastic inside a clear or clear pale turquoise polar bear, that would look incredible! I watch your videos all the time, because you are living my dream job. I have always wanted to become a sculptor like you. Many things prevent me, mainly my health, so I watch your videos, and dream! Thanks for posting them, they make my day. Have a great week!
Who makes sculptures out of nasty rotten wood that's right off the forest floor? Oh, that's right. Some yootoobah cloutslut. IDC how good a carver you are dude, that's lazy and stupid clout chaser behavior right there. All you were worried about is how it looked on camera and what it was gonna do for your pocket. Just like all the other epoxy-slop rotwood scammers.
Catch cook carve would be cool! Pretty crappy rhe customer shipped it back in that manner. Also his sculpture is the least of his worries. If those are that bad in the carving I would imagine his house is about to fall over.
Regarding why the 2 blue colors made brown in the first experiement: when making different shades of blue, other primary colors are added. To create an aquamarine blue (light aqua blue), yellow and/or green can be added with white or gray then mixed to lighten. To make a more dark blue, you can add red with a bit of black to get a deeper rich blue. Now because those 2 blues have red, yellow and green added, those 3 colors with a drop of blue will make brown. Especially so with liquid colors.
It says so much about you that you didn't give up and just throw the whole thing away! The repaired bear looks even better than it did to begin with, because, like you said, it has a story.
It’s beautiful, but you couldn’t pay me to put it in my house 😂 I don’t care what those folks said, there is no way they can guarantee they killed off everything in that deep sculpture. Those termites had months. They have caves all the way deep. I sincerely hope you didn’t put it in your home, shop or even worse - sell it to someone. It is sad, and I can understand wanting to save such a stunning piece - but you should have burned it. It is a Trojan bear of termites. 😬
That was such a terror to watch! I'm so glad you were able to get everything worked out in the end! Great job as always. Definitely interested in seeing what a catch, cook, carve video would look like, I say do it! Thanks for sharing!! 🫶🏾🌻
It's funny because the video I watched before this was a woodworker talking about the importance of putting your wood in a kiln to eliminate anything living in the wood. Then I get this video.
What is the name or brand of the “uv” cured finish? I did not see it in the list of products you used. BTW I think you have a lot of patience and resilience. I think it would have been very daunting for you once you opened the box and saw all the damage
I couldn’t expect the client to accept that I would make them a new sculpture because you used wood with termites to start with so take the loss and start again
it's your fault for having an infested piece of wood. but..... just make another and or repair it and from now on really make sure you have healthy wood. you are very talented.
