I've made these several times now, and this is the perfect recipe that allows fantastic flexibility. Some of mine (so far): •coconut milk and coconut oil instead of milk and butter; 1.5c evaporated milk and either 0.5 water or coconut milk. (I plan to try adding powdered milk at some point.) •0.5c brown or 1/3c white sugar in place of honey. •using 2c whole wheat flour in place of 2c AP flour. (I haven't tried the texture of more than 1/3 total whole wheat yet, but it'd simply be denser & chewier.) I highly recommend this recipe and especially the technique. It'll make a bread baker out of anyone! ❤️✌🏼

Okay this is 911 emergency! When doubling the recipe you double the liquid in the dry ingredients right? I double the recipe both the liquid and the dry ingredients and I baked you for 28 minutes and the middle would not cook😮😮😮😮😮 I had to cook it at least 35 to 37 minutes and they don't look all sopped up like yours 😭 did I do something wrong??😭

This was traditional & so good. I made this at 11pm to have with my sweet potatoes. The roux & cheese sauce recipes made me dislike baking Mac. This taste similar to my grandma’s.
