At 11:55, occupied Paris, France in 1943. Really? These two people must have been Nazis or maybe collaborators. It really looks more like 1963 in a pressurized cabin..
How about Canada in the fifties and sixties? Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1955, lived in Victoria, British Columbia for 5 years and settled in Calgary, Alberta for the rest of my 69 years. The big difference is the climate. When winter hits, it hits all of Canada with snow.
The streets were cleaner?? ...really!! Loool! ...the 50s were filthy ...we had NO POLLUTION Laws but we did have infrastructure thanks to FDR ...as far as more polite ...only if you were white ...it was BEFORE desegregation. We had prayer in schools which done us little good ...we had no civil rights, womens rights, enviro rights, Obamacare, clean water rights, clean air rights, few addiction clinics little to no spousal abuse remedies ....yea just roll the pictures and try not to say something stupid!
I was born when Harry Truman was president. For some reason, ever since I can recall, I was aware of the cars, the architecture, fashion, my surroundings, magazines, and public transportation, and eateries like Horn & Hardarts. I never drove, but was always asked to be 'shotgun' as I had a strong sense of direction. In late 60s and early 70s I hitch hiked across the US, parts of Canada and Mexico. Your channel means the world to me. Thanks.
This is an era when women were real. No fake lips, breasts, BBL’s, Botox, fillers, tattoos, piercings, and they are dressed. They don’t have their rears hanging out. Today’s women look horrible especially the ones that disfigure their lips! It’s very unattractive how women dress today 🤮
You could have done a much better job at addresses so we could find these restored stations or told us they were gone. I searched the Google map and can’t find them.
i think this was the last peak of the United States. post war- 1950's and 1960's until the end of the 60's it changed. How I wish I could have lived through that time. Golden years.

Women weren't covered with tattoos, no one had piercings in their noses, lips, tongue, etc, or had freaky looking haircuts, with bizarre looking colored hair, holes in their pants, and had a sense of class.
My dad was alive during the 50s. I asked him what it was like. He did mention a couple of things about it. He said, the dollar went alot further, you had more buying power, and everyone didn't run around like chickens with their heads cut off.
Gosh so nice to see clear skin and normal body weights, no self mutilation tattoos or mega face/ear piercings, no ear plugs or synthetic fingernails, no bizarre bleached out hair with pink or purple, ripped up jeans or fat rolls hanging out with bras and underwear showing. Our country is so messed up right now
Strong unions, the wealthy paying their fair share of taxes, public schools were a top priority, a Supreme Court that advanced the cause of civil rights for all Americans, government support of scientific research, and a steady hand in the White House. Yes, there is much to miss about the 1950’s.
