@@rsvp9816 it is both tunable and will follow note changes, that’s the patch I made in this video! The thing is, it’s not really calibrated for 1v/octave like a standard oscillator so it has a limited range of use as an audio oscillator. Basically this is just a fun “bonus” feature I guess.
God i love both. I prefered the odyssey at first which i have. But then i moved to headphones and noticed the low end on the mini sounded so much tighter and defined. Would probably sit much easier in a mix. But i think the odyssey wins for leads and arps. Both are amazing.
@@caioaugusto6819 I had never considered putting any of my synth demos on streaming platforms alongside my regular music…. but do you think that would be something people would listen to?
I started getting the MoogerFoogers staring with the Ring Mod (MF-102) as they were released, unfortunately I never got this one to complete my collection. I think at the time I thought they would just keep making the MF’s forever, after a few years of moving around and not playing I checked back in with Moog to find that they had stopped the MF line and had already started AND stopped the MiniFooger line. 😢 600 bucks for the price as you mentioned in the video seems like a steal after looking at Reverb now. I’m loving all the sounds you’re getting on the Rhodes and the sound when playing the pedal as an osc with the midi controller. Gonna have to keep an eye out for this one.
I had one when I was at uni in late 90s... found it with about 5 broken keys at a school and asked Yamaha if they sold replacements and IIRC they sent me them for free... just as well as I was on the bones of my arse at time... still a lot of very usable sounds I think.. I can't recall what happened to it...
@@neilloughran4437 Cheers Neil! That’s pretty cool that they sent you replacement keys free of charge! It’s really a unique sound…Doesn’t sound like regular FM, nor does it sound like wavetables, and it’s too synthetic sounding to be a typical ROMpler…It’s so incredibly 90s but doesn’t sound particularly dated imo except on some of the acoustic instruments.
More than 15 years ago I saw this video, I was an innocent and ignorant teenager looking for information about university courses to choose from, and I found this on a Blogger of a Mexican electronic engineer, teaching that synthesizers were one of the many interesting electronic engineering hobbies. I loved this video immediately, I still listen to it in the tranquility of my home after so many years. The difference with those years is that now I am a professional (engineer) and I not only enjoy the harmonious sound but I also understand the beautiful mathematics behind it, I am also a father, and my 1-year-old baby sleeps with me to listen to this beautiful melody. Long live this video.

Amé este video en el acto, aún lo escucho en la tranquilidad de mi hogar después de tantos años. Larga vida a este video.
Thanks for the video. This is exactly the kind of thing I was thinking about. I realize that the video is old, but nowadays you might be able to 3D print a new grill for the speaker that you can connect the tube to without even taking the speaker apart.
Just got one of these, now it's imperative that I learn how to do _this,_ I don't know that I have enough years left, but they'll have to drag me off'a the thing to bury me....
A hit record in there in this jam , then the usual question is who is gonna sing ? I never thought a synth set up would sound this good on bass guitar. Its top notch
@@mikebassy ah thanks for listening Mike! I chose to play fretless on this because I wanted to show how well it tracks subtle pitch changes. It’s a bit fiddly to get the settings just right for the instrument, and then adjust the technique to keep it consistent…but once you get it in the zone, it triggers incredibly fast! I had forgotten about this video, haha!
help!! I just purchased one of these at a garage sale to learn how to play, but I have no idea how to turn it on. it doesn't seem to work and i have this exact model. how do you run it???
