Film My Run is for runners everywhere. Whether you run on the road or trail, 5k or ultra distance, you'll find something interesting at Film My Run. I film my races and training. I review running products and I offer advice and tips to runners of all abilities.
Well done Stephen. Bumped into another runner today at a coffee van stop, I was actually out on my motorbike. Turns out it was your fellow vollie from last year, Pippa! 😁
Slightly misleading you are capable you have a good chance of running under 3 if you can run a mile in 5:40 on a long enough program of good quality running with high mileage some can do it on less mileage but for the general rule. This is coming from Jeff Cunningham a coach that trained Nick Bare. If you can run a 1:26:10 that time is equivalent to a 2:59:47 marathon. You don’t need this 1:25 half marathon equivalent that is equivalent to a sub 3 hour. That is equivalent to a 2:57:24 marathon.
There are no hard and fast rules here Luke. 1:25 is and has always been a pretty standard half marathon equivalent. Many people will never achieve 1:25 but may still break 3 hours. However, if you put all the shorter distances together, an 18:30 5k, a 39 min 10k and a 1:25 half you ca say with confidence that someone has all the right speed ingredients to achieve a sub 3 time. However, a lot more goes into making sub 3. Long run endurance of course and most underrated is mental strength. Thanks for your insights though. Always good to have varying opinions.
I had 2 cups of coffee whilst I settled in to watch this episode. No one in my family dares to disturb me while I watch Film my Run. The drama is real Stephen can’t wait for the next episode!!
Love the closing of the gate 😂! Great video, especially after listening to the Trail & Error podcast. Even knowing what happens doesn’t dampen the drama unfolding in this series. I cannot wait for the next one!!
@@alanwetherelt7155 yes I’ve found them invaluable for many of the races I do. In fact the day I got them, lots of runners were sick from drinking run off glacier water in the Pyrenees. Thanks for watching!
Why would they try & undermine something successful, if there's a further objective not met by the current run, create an alternative event on same course or different course, before or after current PR, same day or different day, it's run by volunteers so what's the problem?
Cheers Stephen I'm uncomfortable lying across the front seats of the Timing Monkey van at Gravel Rocks and this is just the ticket for getting me off to sleep... Only joking. Kinda. Good stuff mate.
How biased are the researches and studies towards women and then they blame most of the studies are on men. But as usual nothing to be found in the internet about men, but all these studies about women. I had an argument with a woman who claimed to be a researcher in sports medicine and health about this and she stated most of these studies are baised on men, but recent studies shows females outrun men in ultra endurance sports. I asked her what are the biased studies provided on men and which are recent studies on women which conclude women outrun the top male performers in this. As expected.. she left me un answered.. it's been an year now, and she stilll hasn't provided any source for her claims.
excellent work Mr Stephen, well done!! Excited to hear you're doing RTTS this weekend, which one are you doing, the full 100km or day 1/day 2? Might pop up the Ridgeway to come and support if I can make it :)
Cheers, although now im fighting with my phone to let me view the strava webpage. It keeps auto opening the app when i click on the url. Like damnit phone i actually want the browser site.
My 10yr old daughter isn't that fast, she's on 22.55 PB right now but has just done her 89th 5km Parkrun. I can barely go with our now at the end. I'll be bloody glad when she's 11 😄 Good luck this weekend.
@@FilmMyRun fair enough! I need to look through the videos obviously. But yeah, we've got a v. speedy youngster on our hills. Uckfield's great - another level in the winter.
I watched this live and was totally hooked. I was gutted when it finished as happened whilst asleep and waking to find no live feed was gutting 💔😭 It was such a brilliantly organised event. All the runners, crew and organisers did fantastic. Special kudos goes to you Stephen and Victoria for being so enthusiastic and engaging throughout. Can’t wait for next years! Also I’m sure you’ve heard of Dead Cow Gully and the Masters event next year in Australia where Oriol and Antonio have been invited. Any chance of you both heading over to live feed that? Happy to help carry your bags 😁🎒🤣
Hey Dave, no there are no other episodes released yet. The members only videos were clips I recorded live during the event. The official videos will be released every Friday.
@@davebrown1100 So, the channel has a membership option for those who want to support the channel financially. In return they get early access to most videos as well as some exclusive content. So each day on Cape Wrath I did a 5 minute live thing just for members.
I have just watched this and OMG what a challenge. I will be turning 50 early next year and have just discovered the ultra distance. It was inspirational to watch.
