Love you bro but this list sux. Decent player but not what we need. We need big guys who can backup Mitch. Tough guys who will step up when JB gets hit. It shouldn’t be Donte. We’re good at guard and small forward.
Because they have $5m to spend with the TPMLE and there aren't any Cs worth close to that much on the market. Check the last episode if you want C candidates
why trade dueuce for kessler. when you can package a bigger deal for a better center. duece, randle, robinson, 2nd round picks. knicks have some assets to play with
If the Knicks need to include Deuce in a trade for say, Kessler, they will need to sign a back-up point guard. Not saying I want to trade Deuce. But it sounds like two ones was rejected by the Jazz.
Saddiq Bey would be great! He’s recovering from injury but not sure how much run he can get here. Maybe some backup small ball 4 and sparse minutes at small forward but for him it doesn’t make sense unless someone got hurt. Would be great to get another Nova player!
My NYK’s have decided to follow the LA Rams mantra of “F$#K Those Picks”, so it shouldn’t be much of a stretch to move off of another pick if needed to acquire Kessler. Kessler would eventually allow you to move off of the injury guaranteed Robinson. Same goes for Nick Richards. He would eventually replace Robinson do to some injury, and at some point be the frontline 5.
If Kessler has built some sort of chemistry with Bridges, Brunson & Hart from the Olympic squad last year, I think it is worth trading a 1st to snag him. He is a perfect Thibs type center and could thrive in NY
@@LockedOnKnicks no, I’m saying the starting lineup could be Randle at center, OG and Bridges at forward, DDV and Brunson at guard. I think this lineup is a possibility, because the way the league has been trending with finesse and position less ball.
If the Knicks had the space or ability to work a S&T for iHart they would have just kept him. The problem was the biggest contract they could have given him averaged out to about $17m a season. The Thunder just had enough straight up cap space to get him so there was no need to do a S&T. Only reason teams do an S&T is if they don't have the cap space to just outright sign someone
I reject the concept that the only way to build a winning franchise in the NBA is through trades or free agent signings. The league is littered with late round draft picks that wound up being allstars or even MVPs. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Devin Booker, Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard, Donovan Mitchell, Klay Thompson and more were all drafted outside the top 10. Hell, the Knicks drafted Kevin Knox one pick ahead of Bridges. Now there giving up a tremendous amount of draft capital to correct that mistake. The Knicks would do well to invest in a top notch scouting department instead of scavenging through other teams rosters. It's been over 50 years since the Knicks won an NBA championship. Willis Reed, Walt Frazier and Bill Bradley were all drafted. Taking shortcuts is the New York way but it rarely works.
Walt Perrin (head of scouting for the Knicks) has repeatedly found value in the draft. You cited a pick made before Walt was hired. Watch locked on Knicks to stay in the know 😎
Bridges is a perfect example of a miscast franchise player. He is very talented, he is durable, he is a team player, but he is NOT a superstar. Once he was the focus of offense, his efficiency declined, his defense dropped - all signs he cannot carry that load. BUT in NYK, he will be #3 option and he will be perfect in that role. I am certain he will become a great defender again, I am fairly sure he will become again highly efficient 50/80/40 guy and he can give us 22-23 points and maybe 4-5 assists, a block and close over 1 steal a game. He is perfect for stretching the floor and running fast-break, defending the best perimeter player of the opposing team, etc.
At the moment I don't think we can get someone to replace iHeart unless you trade Deuce McBride and precious I'm sorry but I'm not getting rid of Julius randle
The nets guy rationalizing why Bridges wasn't good for them is laughable. Already making excuses for next year and how the few nets fans there are can clap back at Knicks fans.
He is raw. Anyone who is raw can go either way. So to say the steal of the draft is a joke. The steal of the draft is the Lakers getting a player by every mock had the Tennessee star going in the top 10. Not one had him going 17. In fact ESPN had him number 5. CBS had in number 6. And Sporting News had him number 4. Its just funny how the Lakers always gets these breaks.
yeah, it was a VERY steep price.. but I kind of trust Rose. So, it means there were no realistic trades for other stars like Giannis or Embiid or anything of that caliber. And we are losing contracts and picks, so we HAD to make the best trade available.
Can you guys please do a "Scouting Ariel Hukporti:" so fellow Knicks fans can chill out on thinking we're thin at the 5.....Unless we get Kessler which would be a wet dream
@@en.4392 name me a team in the last 15 years that gutted their roster for a Big 3 and competed for a chip. It’s about depth and pieces that fit seamlessly
@@Faro-1. will you or would you put money on the Knicks winning the chip over those two? 2. Lets be honest embiid w half a face and one eye was scary my boy was looking like the Philly terminator 3. I just hope Knicks win a chip with bridges bc that boy cost the Knicks future- bc that looked more like a Giannas package obviously needs more pieces to complete the trade
I have never seen a all nba allstar player get so much disrespect. People say oh he didn't show up in the playoffs. Well this was the first year Joel actually showed up during the playoffs. It's crazy
I love it too but Donte was great next to Brunson. Like our 2/3 spot was covered. We really have a hole at PF/C spot. Bridges is great but positionally he doesn't fit where we have the biggest deficiency
You podcasters are on CRACK... sure, iHart shined against a hurt Joel Embiid... he's going to shine against a formidable or healthy BIG? I luv him but he's not an All-Star GTFOH
