For Francesca id give you hint. Pay attention to the the talk she has with her mother right beforee the wedding and what Violet mentions she thought that love should be.
Francesca's story is NOT told. Not yet. It has just begun. And you know, we saw plenty of Anthony and Kate THIS season. Why not see more Colin and Penelope next?
I'm quite sure that Benedict will be next. In the books he first meets his future wife at Lady Bridgertons masquerade ball, which was mentioned when he was talking to El at the end. I have a feeling though that we might get another spin off first though as they announced that filming was starting last month but in an interview i saw they mentioned that they were still working on the script for season 4. So if the script isnt finished what are they filming? My hopes are for a Lady Bridgerton prequel with flash forwards to her and Marcus.
I did notice that the masquerade ball seemed to be quite significant, how exciting! Another prequel would be SO interesting. Although I have to admit, I would love an Anthony and Kate spin off 🤣
It's only speculation among audiences, but there probably *is* a reason Fran looked at John's cousin the way she did - and that it's different from the books.....that's all I can say without speculative spoilers 😊 Lord Debling left to travel - to the Americas, I think.....that's why he wasn't in the rest of the episodes
Colin has very low self worth (he spent the whole of episodes 5 and 6 worried that Penelope didn't really feel the same way he did, and that she might change her mind about marrying him), and such an ingrained belief that he has to DO something to earn or deserve her love (this is the main reason he gives for wanting to write and edit his book on his own in episode 6, the source of the whole "then what good am I to you?" question in their fight the night before the wedding, and the crux of their last conversation before the final reveal). And in his world, the way a man earns or deserves love is by protecting and providing for his wife and family. This is why he takes over the conversation of how to deal with Cressida's blackmail (which he absolutely shouldn't have done), and doesn't want Penelope to pay it. This is why he gets so upset at her continuing to write as Whistledown, because he can't protect her from the potential fallout of that. The fact that Penelope doesn't need him in any of those traditional ways scares him, because if she doesn't need him, why would she ever love him? That's his personal character arc in this season, which is actually quite similar to Penelope's- learning to love himself, and to accept that he is worthy of love regardless of whatever he's able to do for the people he loves. This is the point she makes in their conversation before the final ball ("Just being you is enough") and also the reason she looks at him in her big speech to the ton, when she talks about the fact that, no matter how your efforts turn out, "one always has worth." It was never a question of Colin not loving or believing in Penelope, but of Colin not loving or believing in himself. I just love that their love story is both of them building the other up, and teaching each other that who they are is good enough. That they don't need to do or be anything but themselves to be loved. And when they've both learned that lesson, they finally come together with nothing left between them! It's so beautiful! This is absolutely my favorite season so far!!!
You have such a beautiful way of telling their story! I’m honestly SO grateful for your comments as it really has helped me to open up my eyes about other aspects of the story especially regarding Colin. I believe you have it spot on with the way they were equally lifting each other up and improving their own self worth. Such a beautiful season :)
There was nothing particularly distinctive about the way the gossip column was printed. They would have used a standard format and font, and a standard silhouette image for the cover. It wouldn't have been difficult to duplicate at literally any printer Cressida chose to go to. Penelope herself went through several printers, and there was never any noticeable change. Also, while I am always on Penelope's side, the only line of hers that I really take issue with is what she said to Colin after the Queen broke up their wedding breakfast. He couldn't possibly know what it's like to not be able to be himself in society? Is this not the same man she confronted literally the night before, and called out in the beginning of the season, for putting on a front in public? For "hiding the parts of [himself] that the world will not accept" and playing the part that is expected of him? No lie, being a woman in that world was tough. But that doesn't mean men were not also bound by the rules and expectations of society- they were different rules than women had to face, but still constricting. I think there's a tendency to think that if someone doesn't face the exact obstacles we have, that means their life is fundamentally better and easier than ours, but it's simply not true. This show does a great job of displaying all the difficulties women of that time faced. They don't need to throw an on-the-nose and incredibly unfair (and untrue) accusation at Colin to drive the point home. Sorry, I'm done now... Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk 🙄😉 Actually, if you want to better understand Colin's character and character arc, a youtuber called Sammy Bates did an amazing character analysis of him! It's really interesting (and she made it before the second part of Season 3 came out, so in case you haven't filmed your reaction to the last episode yet, there are no spoilers) Btw, I just discovered you today, and I'm really enjoying your reactions and thoughts!
I see what you mean. I might have focused a little too much into it. It was stuck in my head for some reason! That was a bit harsh from Pen. Colin has obviously had quite a bit of struggles he's going through that I think are swept under the rug a bit because I struggled to pick up on where these pressures were coming from. We saw bits and pieces said from the men he hung around with mainly to do with women and, unless I forgot something which I probably have (😂), there wasn't much conflicts for him to push through. But I do agree with what you said! I will definitely check Sammy out. The mixture of not having read the books and my own personal struggles reading people it will probably be very useful. I loved your input, thank you very much!! :)
@@analyticalplum You're doing a great job of picking up on things! That one line is just my little thing that bugs me, but no one else seems to notice. I love what the show has to say about women's struggles, but I just don't like that they feel they have to belittle the men's struggles to do it
It looks like it's the ex boyfriend/police office from first film that gets run over in trailer. Also yeah, do more reaction videos to horror. Very good and all the best.
AHHHHH I'm SO EXCITED!!!! The show doesn't come out for me till August :(((( Glad I got to watch a bit of this, I'm really excited to see more of Cara!!! I love her
"What I think is everyone is going to die before the end of the season" FINALLY someone who actually waits for the story to unfold before raging online. Thank you. Great reaction
Thank you! I like to wait until the whole series is out to make a fair judgement. Definitely think they're all gonna die (Maybe apart from one of the twins and Qimir?)🤣
@@analyticalplum i think Ki-Adi might find out and they're gonna tell him to keep his mouth shut about the incident cause they will have eliminated the threat. So when he says his line in episode 1 it is now him trying to hide what he knew already. That's my crazy theory
🚨 Disclaimer: I wanted to apologise in advance that I ramble a lot in this video, it does lessen up as the video goes on. I think I was very over excited since AGGGTM is one of my favourite book series 😅
I watched the movie series and I honestly don't know how to feel about it, they changed a lot in the movies from the book and it was like so frustrating to watch it, I mean the main key points was there but they changed some small details. I also felt confused and stuff, I feel like they skipped some very crucial scenes too and just jumped from one to another. I don't know, I feel like, if I was someone who watched the movie first before reading the book, i would actually say that it is like, different. If I didn't read the book i would actually be convinced that they're completely different stories but with just the same plot. It's really confusing especially if someone who haven't read the book yet watched it. Idk, I probably recommend watching it first if you haven't read the book yet because it won't feel frustrating to watch. Like literally the entire time I was like "wait this didn't happen in the book?" "What the heck, this is not supposed to be the scene here" "this is so different from the book what" "what the heck this was not it"
I'm not as fussed when a book gets adapted and it's a bit/completely different. But I can understand how frustrating it must be! I think it can be hard sometimes, translating the book on screen because there are more time restraints and different pacing, or some things don't visually work out!
Osha was Sol's Padawan for YEARS. It's incredibly stupid for him NOT to immediately recognize that isn't Osha. Add the Jedi ability to mindread that we've seen in this show to the mix and this "twin swap" becomes a total farce.
What’s bothering me about Eloise here was… I could understand her not wanting to get in the middle. She was still upset with Penelope, but then when Colin confronts her she’s like I’ve been trying to get her to tell you. Excuse me that may have been at the beginning, but then when Penelope told you she was going to tell him you told her no don’t tell him, it’s gonna break his heart, just stop writing… Penelope stops writing, only for Eloise to turn around and then want her to write again when it was to help the Bridgertons. I would’ve appreciated her leaving that little comment out because it wasn’t accurate.
@Adme55 Actually what Eloise tells him is that she was trying to get her to tell Colin BUT THEN she thought "why break his heart as well." That's her admitting why she didn't continue to insist on her telling him and or told him herself.
Yes! Phillipa and Albion are so adorably in love with each other, and happy together. And...kinda dumb. Not really, because they are not really stupid at all. But they have led amazingly sheltered lives. "...lucky to have never been in love..." is so harsh, but also--it means he recognizes he is STILL IN LOVE with Penelope! Lord Debling ate vegetables. I find it hilarious that Violet reacts that way to Lord Anderson eating, exactly the way Colin reacting Penelope doing the same! And in the middle of night, let it be recorded--Penelope LOVES Colin, while Colin LOVES Penelope. Even in the middle of a gigantic fight/conflict, they have trouble not touching each other. They adore each other on every single level.
They are my favourite sweet, silly couple 😂 I COMPLETELY forgot that about Lord Debling! He has just disappeared so it went out of my head. Colin and Penelope are THE cutest!!
Colin was never a rake-he was just trying to pretend to be one because that's what his brothers did and what society expected of him. It didn't make him happy, and the real Colin was still there-he was still sweet and kind.
Yes I completely agree with you, I don't think I phrased it right 😂 I just meant that he was trying to make himself appear as a rake which I thought was quite different to how he has appeared the last couple of seasons
I also think someone with your mindset / perspective on the Penelope Colin story really was a part of bringing this season to life. You could definitely see the different view of points people have and why it changes how they interpret different scenes. But I think the viewpoint that you, and I think I share as well, mirrors the way I've seen a lot of the cast react two watching this season. The cast is FULL!! of Polin fans😂
I think some viewers can get really sucked in that they forget different aspects about the story! Like with Eloise for instance, she hasn't been the greatest this season but I know that from her point of view, she is trying to protect Colin as he has previously had struggles with the Whistledown columns. I agree with you! Such an amazing variety of characters this season :)
❤❤❤ I'm in complete selective media intake mode, especially about Bridgeton. So anyone who's happy to watch Penelope and Colin get married is my favorite kind of reaction to come out.❤ Thanks for being such a beautiful bright light to the reaction community for this awesome show with an insanely wide and diversely opinionated fan base😂🎉 and you're very compassionate to all characters
You're not the only one to think that Colin didn't have much of a romantic interest in Penelope before this and you're right. I'll give it to you as short and sweet as I can lol. They'd been friends from day one despite her hidden feelings for him and those feelings deepened as they matured into adults. After travelling to "find himself" and having empty sexual experiences he questioned the act of having sex altogether because he feels nothing during and after each one but keeps trying and plowing away. It's not until he kisses Penelope that he realizes he's not sexually fulfilled by anyone else because he had no emotional connection to them. Long story short, Colin is a demisexual and only capable of true sexual fulfilment with a partner whom he shares real feelings. Because he already cared so much for Penelope, the attraction clicked as soon as he kissed her. He's always had feelings for her, but unable to identify them due to not fully understanding his own sexuality.
That’s the way I saw it! I knew he cared deeply for her before hand but I just didn’t see the romantic feelings coming from him. Thank you for your comment :)
