Hello, I think you need to learn how to use the DEUS 2 before doing tests because there it is unstable, you do not make ground balance adjustments or frequency scans the program is not adapted to the terrain . test to be completely redone. for the manticore it's the same ground balance setting frequency scan

Thanks @@marceloudart3797 I understand where you are coming from, I generally do not ground balance the manticore in the uk and same with the D2, sometimes I will ground balance the D2 but rarely get wildly different outcomes. Unfortunately there is not a patch of clean ground to balance the machine against in my garden? I’m no expert although I’ve been using the D2 since release, D1 before and know what works on our land, if I can hit a cut quarter at 8” that’s good enough for me😀I’ll try a ground balance and will report back, you never know! I have the D2 and think it is the worst machine out there for Target IDing , the stability could be better .. i think the machine is a pile of crap compared to the ctx or nox800 and i have both those machine .. D2 i bought when it first came out and i think its one more bit of tech that has been shoved out into the market place without it fully being ready . I am disappointed in the machine and i have used countless programmes trying to get the machine to work in a fit and proper manner ...The EMI is a killing the Iron falsing is a killer .. and poor target ID .. just not what i expect for a 1500 pound MACHINE .. It is all guess work with the numberS that machine produces AND yes its all about the tones as well i get that but i am just being honest .. Yes those deus puritans will disagree and that is fine .. Far to many issues with the deus2 and been two years down the line and still the same problems are apparent . Thanks for the video

Thanks@@user-nm9hw6sw4m.. I take it your not a fan of the D2😬😂 I agree it has so many programs that it can get confusing and truth be told I’ve had mine since release day and I’ve yet to find another program after cross checking signals that doesn’t hit a target that the other one does. What I did was stick to one program which was general on 0.71 which I got on well with, did it suprise me like the nox 800? No but did it find the forth hammered coin in a small hoard? Yes I’m now on 1.10 and use sens ft which i know can miss the deep stuff but there’s something in that machine that’s a joy to use, can slaw, alloys and lead are easier to guess on the D2 than the manticores language, id say the nox was better than the manti in that department but it’s still early days for the manti. The one machine you gel with is the one you will find the most whether it’s a £200 machine or a £2000 machine, but it’s good to have variety and the xp and minelab machines couldn’t be more different, thanks for the comment😊👍 Oh and I agree the emi is shocking on the D2

Hi @@DMDC- I tend to always end up on my own programs due to my fields being fairly clean, I very rarely come above 1.5 reactivity unless it’s start to get busy. The CP9 program is based off program 3 which has the older iron filters so it’s a bit more aggressive which I like and will let some iron through as well, so basically I rarely come off cp9 as I like a good comprimise of depth and speed, the deus 2 is a quick machine so I do t feel like I miss much. That was a really good entertaining video without bias towards either detector. Wherein, I’ve been on the fence for ages contemplating getting a Manticore, but after watching today’s video it has made me really appreciate my Deus II more than ever. Plus, the anticipation of the forthcoming new elliptical coil from XP adds the hope of further possibilities from an already great machine. I already have an Equinox 800, which I bought for my son, but who has now decided detecting is too anorak from him! And I’ve heard you mention a few times in your videos, that you located a hammered coin at 14 inches using the Equinox which is very inspiring information to other Nox owners! Also, I don’t know whether this makes sense, but the audio from the Deus II in my opinion somehow forms a 3D image in the mind’s eye of what exactually is underneath the ground. Whereas the Minelab fluty tones which are excellent at locking on to targets don’t really create such 3D mapping in the mind’s eye. Though one thing is for sure and that is Minelab make really good detectors, which somehow do something other manufacturers machines can’t. If anything, it’s the cost of acquiring additional coils for the Manticore which makes me hesitant to purchase one. Especially since the Equinox I bought my son came with the whole kit and Kaboodle offering exceptional value for money. I really enjoy watching your channel, as you make entertaining and informative videos. And I hope by the end of 2024, that your channel has acquired lots and lots of new subscribers!

@@anthonywestwood8489 as always thanks for the kind words on the channel, much appreciated😊👍 I hear you on the deus 2 tones, full tones definitely paints a better picture of what’s in the ground, I can usually guess the lead and most still whereas the manticore is harder to listen for, I actually found the equinox slightly better on the tones somehow as you knew you were onto something good with that, manticore has lots more to come for me but like you said they both have thier strengths and weaknesses, it’s seems one machine can’t do everything.. the minelabs are very good at alerting you to stop and dig, I need to explore high square more on the D2 as I think I may have missed a few deep whispers using full tones. @anthonywestwood8489 23 дня назад
@@DIRTBROSDETECTING I have already watched Iffy’s latest video and commented too. Myself personally, I never play bingo when I’m out detecting, much preferring to count on the audio to trump the TID numbers instead. Wherein, I’d rather dig some iron than risk losing the find of a lifetime just because the numbers don’t add up! Regarding never having too many machines. I’ve been a detectorist now for over 25 years, with the odd hiatus on and off bringing up my son as a single parent. When I was married, I always had to justify my hobby purchases with a million excuses. My ex always used to ask whether the latest and greatest detector was a new purchase. Obviously, I used to lie and say no. Even when my son’s eyes were wide-open hearing me tell his mum it wasn’t a different detector, as he was never fooled for a moment that it wasn’t new! Personally, I think the tests you carry out in the soil have much more validation than surface tests. Plus, if anything a test bed with same plane iron nails next to a non-ferrous target, elevated iron nails above a non-ferrous target would be a much fairer indication of which detector is better at identify non-ferrous targets amongst iron. When the XP Goldmaxx Power was first released, it was a game changer for hunting in heavily iron infested sites. The same goes for the Deus and now the Deus II. It’s the testing in the ground that counts nothing else. Those tests above ground are mere parlour tricks, unless the result is also duplicated in different soil types too. I think its good that the detector manufacturers are in serious competition with each other and having to sell their detecting tech at a much lower price, as everyone loves a bargain!
@DIRTBROSDETECTING
@DIRTBROSDETECTING 23 дня назад
@@anthonywestwood8489 lol I can relate to dumbing down detector purchases, luckily my wife enjoys the hobby but hardly gets out.. but I have to be careful where the pennies go! And I agree, if it sounds good dig it, the 7 and 8’s on the D2 are the same.. I would dig a sweet tone. It’s all part of learning the machine and racking up the hours to understand what it’s telling you as most of the time I can always guess iron which I don’t mind digging a lot of the ti as I’ve had some cracking iron finds like cannon balls etc, the minelabs were always good for letting in interesting iron or too big they can’t deal with it. I did mess up slightly in this videos test as I left the manticores iron volume on 25 where on 3 it doesn’t dominate the non ferrous tone so much, it’s a strange one how it reacts to freshly buried targets for sure so I need to get my head round why it loves to iron buzz everything? i still cant fault the nox 800 is better than both of these at depth way more stable.i have both these machines and still prefer the nox 800 it still the beast in my eyes

I’m sure the nox 800 would find 98% of the manticores, not sure on the stability at depth? I used to get one way hits on the nox on deep targets where the manticore can give you info moving all around the target, not taking anything away from the nox but you can feel they have worked to make it better, just my experience👍

What site do you use for your lidar images mate?

Hi addwithadz, I use archiuk.com or side by side maps, can spend hours searching through them. I have most success with google earth pro going back in time and looking for cropmarks👍

Amazing finds - what way to christen your new 15-inch coil! I also like how you’ve mastered getting a closeup angle, so the viewer gets to share in the unveiling. I think you’ve made the right choice getting the 15-inch coil with all that prime pasture to search, as it’s definitely going to reap dividends for you!

Thanks @anythonywestwood8489👍 After years I caved and bought a new phone which is great for close ups.. and yes we have got loads to go at and lots of quiet fields that are hiding epic finds so the 15” was a good choice for me. Happy hunting😊👍
