The Walla Walla school district has for fifty years built and/or remodeled buildings with flat roofs and they've all leaked.

Leavenworth and Wenatchee isnt much better

As a WA resident no state tax but in addition to the other taxes you listed there is high property tax, vehicle registration, and almost every town/county has additional bonds and then the high gas taxes.. Then don't forget about the idiotic carbon credits we pay on gas (it is not a tax just ask the governor) No one has been able to tell me how much carbon I have purchased yet or where I can collect it.

I live in a nearby town. We are also losing our town and culture to a lot of wealthy outsiders. We are retired, soon we are going to have to consider moving because of ridiculously inflated property value. The traffic sucks without the relaxed attitude there used to be. Cars go by our house in what is marked a 35 mph zone at 50 and 60 mph. I hate to even go to the market anymore. These folks don’t realize they are ruining the things about this place that attracted them in the first place and driving up everyone’s cost of living substantially including their own. Some of the most beautiful trails are ruined by hundreds of people trying to park and hike at the same time. They leave poop and toilet paper etc., right next to the trail. Personally I’m rooting for a real pandemic with teeth this time around. Something’s got to give. There is an epidemic of people and it isn’t good.

I know this area rather well and it's my opinion that it's now a place for RICH DRUNKS ! That's too bad because the entire area was Beautiful. Not so much now.

I've heard many folks state, "Never move where you go to vacation, it can quickly loose it's beauty, you go there to get away". When you live there, you get to deal with the same problems you left behind, along with the extra issues of Tourists and seasonal everything. Generally, everything is more expensive, from the basics to the extras. You also get to deal with folks showing up, acting like fools, because they don't care, they don't live there and they paid to be there. Regardless of the tourists income bracket, many behave like the Bankers Son from an Old West flick. I live in such an area, I stay at home on the weekends and I now go elsewhere to vacation.

The " road around the lake"...id like to see that!! Haha..you can only get to the head of the lake 3 ways: boat in...hike in...take a small plane..i used to love Chelan...before the wineries and development and wildfires...

At about 4:18 you said there is a state and local income tax. I know you meant sales tax. I live on the west side of the Cascades and in my county it totals up to about 9.1-9.3% by the time they pile county and local on top of the state's base sales tax rate.

I graduated from manson. Worked there for over. 13 years . Left as soon as I could. Lol hate going back it's just another lake to me. As a high schooler beer on Friday and Saturdays. Don't forget the ones that don't drink are pot heads!! Lol

There are 295 school districts in Washington state. Chelan is #112. I wouldn't call being in the 38 percentile (38th place out of 100) as "great". In fact, on a bell curve...it would be....."average".
