Good take on this area. A few observations: If you need a second opinion on a medical issue Spokane is a great alternative without having to cross the passes in winter. Also, as to eastern Washington being politically purple that's probably true in the Wenatchee area where a lot of "coasties" moved to particularly during Covid. However, move easterly from Chelan County and the conservative counties are at the forefront.

Born in Seattle 1961 thru Grade school, Graduated from High school "AC Davis Yakima WA". Joined the navy (because she is right, no good jobs) went to work for Boeing 1989 Everett WA after Navy (kinda was the plan). Retired moved back to Yakima. I do not regret it at all, In fact I'm much happier back where I grew up. Lot's more sun (seriously), It hasn't cracked 90 yet this year. No rat race/Car parks like I5 yeah I miss nothing over there including the weather (though WHEN the sun shines it is Absolutely beautiful) and I can always visit Seattle. You are northwest of me and your roads suck ours do not. And with Musks Starlink yep way better than anything I had over in Everett (verison and Xfinity YUCK!) you will have excellent internet I know I have it right now.

Left WA for CA in 1984… never had desire to return… Yes CA is Leftist but WA is worse (and all the rain)…😁
