Well I see why you all have Barn dogs around. And why they're all chunky, helps you guys on clean up because they eat all the shavings off the hoofs.😂😂
First time watching your RU-vid channel. You were asking about content if you haven't talked about it I don't know but if you want to go through all your equipment from your chats to your do your knives to your supply that you have in your truck what you like what you don't like which ones you do like better what ones you have done just all around background on all of your equipment and why you like it. And since I'm new to all this if you could put it in layman's terms it would be appreciated.
I don’t fully understand your question? Essentially you need to keep in mind the foot you’re making it for, whether course or fine or right down the center, nail placement is what determines where the fullering goes. That answer your question?
Great stuff, and an excellent practice method! I wonder man, have you considered laying over the outside steel to center, matching the angle of the inside concave, before working the corners to center? Another thing bro, I noticed when forming the heel with the section square to the anvil, the heel keeps getting pushed back and forth of center. What if the section was lifted off the anvil closest to you, to assist working the heel to a point, like forming a chisel? Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it, great practice and learning method! 😁
You could, but the issue you’d run into is concave likes to buckle and twist easily therefore probably messing up your toe bend on the shoe you’re intending to build. It is a good observation and thought tho!
Safing is when you alter a section of steel so that it is leaned over or taken the sharp corner off so in the case that the horse brushes against itself, it will hopefully prevent an injury.
Great content, Great music. Keep em coming. Just to add, saw lynard skinner, marshal tucker, charlie Daniels, and grinder switch in concert early 70's. Great concert. Thank you for sharing, Sir...
Just quit trying to be the smartest kid in the class with all the idiot terminology, just say toe left or right side , it’s not brain surgery, please!!
Gavin where you been bud??? Haven't seen a recent video lately. 😢 Miss watching you work and hearing you talk horse shoeing. I agree the music is awesome, but I prefer watching you and your videos. Looking forward to one soon. 😊
Do you work in the Willamette Valley, Salem, Oregon? I have a horse that could use your experience, correcting his growth after a laminitis event in November. He is doing much better on Prascend and low sugar Hay I just need some help getting his hoof growth corrected. If you’re not available, could you recommend a fantastic Farrier near Salem?
