Enola gay didn't have gun turrets except the rear turret under the tail the little boy atomic bomb was a very dark green looking black from a distance the fat man atomic bomb was a flat yellow with black joint lines and seeing enola gay now all polished up shiny aluminium it looks fantastic
Great idea and execution...your diversity in modeling choices is a main reason I enjoy your vids....go with your heart when it comes to history...I spent many years in a history museum and the stories I got told -- Wow is all I can say....I see you are still using that Paasche single action, how old is that thing? I bought that for my ex back in the 90's....lol Carry on look forward to your next one
Thanks for your kind words. This is a hobby and hobbies are supposed to be fun. I enjoy building various model kits. There's an old saying "If it's not broke, then don't fix it." Paasch airbrushes are made to last. I don't see any real reason to use other companies. Who knows, if it does break down, I'm happy to look around for a new airbrush. Anyway, thanks for watching my video. Take care.
@@qdc748a didn't mean to criticize your air brush choice, I've probably gone thru 6 or seven in the time you've had one....I am rough with 99% of the mechanical devices I've owned, including cars.
QDC! Oh my gosh!! where do i even start, i just rediscovered your channel after many years and i see you're still uploading!, I used to watch all of your tank model building videos all the time when i was around 8-9 years old, and now i am 19!!!!!! you were the one to inspire me to build my own models, and i still build them to this very day! thank you so much QDC for being such an awesome guy, im watching all the videos again from about 10 years ago and they bring back the BEST MEMORIES!! so glad i found your channel again and glad you're still here after all these years!! much love and take care!!!!!!! ❤
Thank you for your kind words! Those are heart touching words. Yes, time flies and we all get older. Yes, I'm very old now but you are still young. It's really awesome to hear that you are still building model kits. I enjoy this hobby so much that I don't plan to stop building them or uploading my work on RU-vid. My next project is the Tamiya Nashorn Tank Destroyer. It's a complicated kit so it's taking a while to build. Thanks again for your kind words. I honestly appreciate them! Take care.
Very nice, just watched your video of this german horse drawn supply wagon. I have collected and built a number of horse drawn vehicles as well calvary figures of WWII, mostly german. I think read somewhere recently that just for the invastion of Russia an first 5 months of operation in 1941. The german army burned through 800,000 horses. In 5 months. They all had to be replaced plus additional horses due army expansion i think that figure was 1.3 million horses before the 1942 planned offensive operations in russia. With the being from sept-1939 thru May 1944. Its a wonder Europe has any horses left. Great job, happy modeling
Thanks for the history lesson regarding Germany using horses. Although the German propaganda often said they used mostly mechanized vehicles, it couldn't be further from the truth. Thank you for watching my video and thanks for leaving a comment. Take care.
Hello old friend, another fine video of one of your builds. I appreciate the fact that you always keep it simple, even when you add after market items it still is everything a beginner can achieve as well. That hopefully stimulates people that are not into the hobby yet, to try and build a model of their own and keep the hobby alive in the future. Personally I find it very relaxing to watch your videos, as I can’t seem to ever keep a build simple myself, always adding detail and sometimes even losing interest in a project for some time because of it. Please keep on posting new videos, I’ve been following you for a long time and we both have gotten some grey hairs in the process 😅.
I built the old Airfix B29 kit when I was a child and up to that point, that was the biggest and most detailed model kit i had ever built. This one looks like it's miles better and it looks like you had a good time when you got to fly in one.
Thank you for watching this video. Building model kits, any model kits, should be an enjoyable experience. It's cool to know that my video has brought back memories of your youth. If you're returning back to this hobby, I would encourage you to build kits that you like and not be influenced by others. In the end, it's you who is paying for this and it's you that's going to enjoy it. Take care
I remember watching the wall coming down i was only 9 at the time but those images stayed with me all these years. You should be very proud of this model it’s a very interesting subject and you have done a fantastic job again. It’s always a pleasure watching your videos.
Thank you for watching my video. This world event I will never forget. It seems like yesterday when the wall fell. I can still remember what I was doing that day and the energy that unfolded in my area. You are too kind with your generous words regarding my skills. Thank you again and take care.
Really cool kit Q. That’s awesome you were able to spot that section of the Berlin Wall that’s still standing! Did the camera “flip” the big blue “worm” to be looking in the other direction? I noticed that the original image painted on the wall behind you also has a little “hat” or something on the “head” Was this added after the destruction of the original in 1989? Really interesting video my man. Looking forward to your next project.
Thanks for watching my video. I was using the front camera of my Apple I-Phone. I don't know why but it records things like a mirror image if I use the front camera. I'm not familiar with street art but I'm assuming that the art is made by someone famous, so AFV club copied the essence of it but not exact to avoid copyright infringements. I found that by accident as I was in Potsdamer Platz at the Sony Center. When I saw it, I had to make a video of it. Thanks again for watching, I truly appreciate it.
Traveling is good for my soul. For me, it opens my mind and it helps me see other people's perspectives. I invite you to see this three-minute video that sums up my perspective about traveling. You don't have to be rich to travel. I am not rich! Far from it! Thank you for watching my video. I hope you enjoyed the building of the Berlin Wall. Here is the link to the three minute RU-vid video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j3MQn7ASras.html
Good video!!! I had the honor to visit both East & West Berlin in October 1982 on a military sponsored tour. I was in US Army stationed in Frankfurt, West Germany at that time. It was an experience will always remember. Seeing both sides of Berlin, and both sides of The Wall as well. Whenever I come across portions of The Wall in the USA in some city park, I always make it a point to visit The Wall and touch it - wondering IF that portion may have been where I was standing back in 1982. THANKS!! for the memories!!!!!!!!!!!
You are welcome. The Berlin Wall means a lot to people who lived through the Cold War, it was for me. Oddly, Berliners who were born after the wall fell can't imagine their beautiful city was divided in two and I can easily see why. When I was there, there are a few places the wall still stands and there's no real distinction between west and east Berlin unless you are looking hard for the clues. I didn't intend this project or this video to remind my audience about the past so I'm happily surprised that this video made you remember the good times in your life. Thank you for watching my video. I want to wish you and your family the best. Take care. 😊😊
One of your best videos to date... Very interesting seeing the wall and to see and hear your impression of the city and its people. Great looking vignette as well, the people look spot on, and the wall is very nicely replicated and painted. I give this video 10 / 10 Berliner do-nuts... 😜😋 Well done, my friend!
Thanks. The subjects I choose to build and paint are getting more interesting to me. That's probably the reason why my work looks more appealing to both me and my audience. Speaking of audience, thanks a lot for watching this video. I honestly appreciate it. 😊😊
There's a casino here in Las Vegas that has a section of the Berlin Wall, with graffiti still on it. It's in the men's bathroom and has urinals mounted on it.
I looked on the Internet and saw a picture of that. It's quite interesting! From what I read on the Internet, it's protected by glass. It's shame that only men can see it.
"Ich bin ein Berliner" in germany, especially in Berlin is understood diffrently :D Berliner <- this is a kind of a donut called Berliner or Krapfen. It is a jam filled doughnut with no central hole. So every US president who said "Ich bin ein Berliner" can mean that "I am a donut!" :D
Thank you for your kind words. I have improved as time passes. The subjects I build are more interesting to me, that's probably the reason why I'm enjoying building and painting them. 😊😊
I always look forward to seeing your model builds .as always you have made a great job .i love the figures they look very good so as always best wishes to you and buster stay safe and happy modelling everyone 👍 😁
As always, thanks for watching my videos and thanks for your kind words. I honestly appreciate them. I wish you and your family the best. Take care. 😊😊
Nice job. But do me a favor: Go back and finish painting the German flag in the lady's hand. The opening of the Berlin wall was one of the most joyous occasions in recent German history. I happened to be in Germany when it took place. There were German flags flying everywhere and Germans from both sides were crying tears of joy and exchanging hugs. No German in their right mind would feel "offended" by seeing a depiction of the German flag on your diorama. And even if someone did, well, eff 'em! You're depicting a moment in history. Stop worrying about political correctness and worry instead about historical accuracy. Do people worry about offending people when they apply swastikas on the tail of a Bf109 model or on an Afrika Korps vehicle. No. So tell me, what is so offensive about displaying the flag of the Federal Republic of Germany; a republic with a government freely elected by the people. I fail to see what's offensive about it. Or am I missing something?
Wow QDC your Videos are so slick and well produced these days, a nice kit build and history lesson in one, I am 49 and i remember the wall coming down and Regan and Gorbachev signing the Nuclear treaties, we got so close to fixing the world but it all fell apart and the opportunity for peace was lost, those days of optimism and hope seem long gone .
Thanks for watching this video. I'm using a new editing program so I'm taking advantage of its features. These new features help a lot on telling my story. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Just like you, I remember the Cold War very well. 😊😊
I was stationed in West Germany in the mid 80s, and my battle position was in Fulda. I went out with the LT one year to survey the positions, and had an opportunity to look across the border at the East German guard towers. I knew they were looking at me with scopes. Of course I unzipped, pulled it out, and took a piss in their direction.
You are far to modest about your skill level. You have honed your skills to an advanced level. Your final product always impresses me and I have been building for 40 years. You built such beautiful piece, with a powerful meaning behind it. I remember the wall. I was so glad to see it come down. Great work, thanks for sharing. I enjoy your videos. Say hello to your cat. I see you have a friend who likes to jump up on your work bench also. Take care, God bless you and your family
This video is an inspiration. I recently finished 3d printing an X-Wing that I modeled myself using a 3d modeling program, and painting it is the next step. Many people don't know that the MPC kit is an actual filming model, because two of them were used in The Empire Strikes Back during the evacuation of Hoth Scene. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out, because I build a couple of them in my youth.
A really interesting kit, put together and beautifully finished. And a song that describes what is wrong with the system that western society has created. What happens when there is no one left for them to exploit and steal from ?
You're welcome. Thank you for watching my video. If you like building ships, I recently built Revel HMS Kelly and uploaded it on RU-vid. You are welcome to watch it.
Saw the large scale model Sherman tank under the window , I'm amazed your cat hasn't tried to push it on to the floor yet !!! ( i did notice your cat eyeballing it for a few seconds , though) 😮😮😮
