Hey, I just found your channel today. I absolutely loved your 1000 subscriber video. As a new RU-vid creator, it was invaluable information. As for your setup, I would nymph those pools if the regulations allow it. It sounded like a few guys were throwing eggs in the rapids, and an egg pattern or black stone should work well fished deep through those runs. At least, that's my experience on the Great Lakes tribs. Anyways, keep up the good word, bro 👊🏽
Yo thanks mate, and good luck with the youtube channel! It can feel like a grind but if it's for you first, it won't be so bad :) I don't fish this river or these spots anymore, it's pretty tough and busy!
I recently picked up a CSO Stave. Gotta say its a pretty nice rod for the price. Confident enough to try and land an chinook on it. Lots of 15lbs+ springs in the rivers on the island already.
@@RosinFlyFishing I landed 5 so far. 4 were about 15lbs and 1 was over 20lbs. The bend/action in it is amazing but you do not have authority over the big guys. Average fight in a 20ft wide river was about 5-10 mins.
@@RosinFlyFishing size 6 mustad hook, orange brass bead head with a chart green body and tiny buck hair tail. They weren’t bitting that much until i went small. I tried posting some pics in the discord and it wouldn’t let me post photos unfortunately.
@@P.N.W.adventures it's a tough fishery for sure. It's very based on river levels, tides, and when fresh fish are pushing through. Add on the pressure it gets and with it being so short, fish can make it to the hatchery in a few hours. But it being a tough nut to crack also makes it a fun challenge 😄
Glad to see you out fishing @RosinFlyFishing amongst friends. The fishing etiquette and safety is good to see and many watching can learn from it. Hopefully I can join you soon for a mid-month fishing trip! Are we converting you to gear fishing? Thank you for sharing.
Lifting fish you cannot identify out of the water and recording them and posting them online calling it a "wild steelhead smolt" (which do not exist in the Capilano) and then cutthroat is another example of why your channel is among the most low skill, low information garbage online. Your description, let alone use, of the skagit line is also mostly all inaccurate. The ability to edit video does not an ethical or skilled angler make.
I would love to go fishing there. Whenever I go during the salmon season there are so many salmon there but I can't catch anything. Vedder all the way! Edit: First!
Dude when you showed the dock I knew it looked familiar this is the first time I’ve ever seen a spot on RU-vid that I’ve fished in real life so crazy!!! To randomly see
Known about this for 60 yrs now.kinda wish you had kept the location a bit more vague as it's getting a lot of pressure as is and numbers are way down in last 15 yrs or so.
that was nice of him to give you that fish..must be nice to have a freezer full of fish lol..took my family to McDonald Beach Park for a quick picnic..but as we were eating my kids said DADDY LOOK theres a white horse across the river!..im like WHAATT!! then i remember watching that upload you had where you went to Deering Island Park " where all the rich people live " 😂, when you saw horse poo on the trail .. im like thats gotta be Deering Island park trail or whatever lol
