I replay OG X-Com pretty much annually/biannually and it never gets old thanks to depth and randomness of its gameplay mechanics. Dabbled into modding last year and it just blew my mind, X-Piratez and X-Com Files transform the game I know and love into so so so much more. If you love the loop of building>fighting>researching of original X-Com, they're a must try.
"can only use cursed weapons" : "I guess that should be obvious" --- it is not =) I would treat this rule as "cannot shoot from non-cursed weapons", but can do anything I want otherwise. I can cleanse my cursed weapon (but can't shoot it afterwards!), I can ignore cursed weapons on ground (but not on 1-1 since I can't shoot my starting weapon!).
Usually player auto-collects the ammo from the weapon on ground. I wonder if cursed weapons block this... and whether it is considered "using" the weapon on ground =)
Still got my Copy. As an eleven Year old Fanboy, this was pretty much fantastic all around. Only thing that "bothered" me, was the stiff and rather slow walking and jumping of the Turtles.
Turts is my favorite thing, and I love the first Game Boy game, but I never play this one, or part 3. It's not bad, it just doesn't have the magic formula for me.
This game's gameplay is okay, not terrible, but also not amazing. The music though is what carries this game for me, it's the main reason why I enjoy this game. The Game Boy Chiptune electric guitar sounds awesome, and one of the two composers - Tsuyoshi Sekito, would go on to work on a lot of Square Enix games, so it's interesting to look back on theit early work.
Great video! I also agree and sometimes argue X-Com is one of the greatest games of all time. Personally I think it might be #1 for me - with Diablo (the original, not 2 - another one with the "procedurally generated levels") and Super Metroid coming in 2nd and 3rd place - with an honorable mention for Fallout 2.
Worth checking out Looney Tunes Collector: Martian Alert! and Looney Tunes Collector: Martian Revenge! if you want to try some half decent Looney Tunes games sometimes. They're not masterpieces but they are pretty good.
How is this the only Hunchback game? Who made a reveal the picture reverse breakout game with birds as the balls? Why are birds the balls? Was there a bird ball in the movie, and I just blocked it out?
This was so sad that I cried for 47 years and then I kept crying some more Mario is so beautiful and he is my father HE IS MY FATHER HE IS MY FATHER HE IS MY FATHER HE IS MY FATHER HE

I agree with the tombstone, Cool World was never really established. Was Cool World any good? It seemed like an edgy version of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, so I never saw it.
I think you got a little confused with this one. LOL. it's a pretty simple game, that's kind of like pacman where you generally are supposed to just collect the fruit and finish.
