Hey everyone, I'm Chris! I'm a Filipino immigrant living in New Zealand and documenting my journey to financial freedom. I make videos about investing, real estate and saving money to build a community of like minded people and help others achieve financial freedom. If you want to be part of this community, please subscribe and I'll see you every Sunday 9am New Zealand time or Saturday 12 noon Pacific Standard Time. 😊 Time zones are confusing lol

"How to buy your first house in New Zealand" You don't. Do yourself a favour and move out of the island at the first opportunity you have. Thank me later. Don't give your money to boomers who sell and go live in South East Asia with your money. Unless you have a successful business, NZ banks will have you by the balls for decades. While the government saved the arses of the people who default on their payments in 2008 (one of the many reasons the market there never crashes as much as it should as the government is always interfering) I don't believe it will happen again. People are fling NZ by the dozens of thousands every year. Not to mention a third of the population live on welfare (met a woman living in a 1 bedroom hotel, with kitchen, that the government was paying for for years while I was living in a crappy room in a house shared with 4 other people. That's how the government will treat those who work. It's a socialist nation. Only reason the economy keepa afloat is because they can import endless immigrants. Problem is, even for immigrants of many "3rd world countries" it is no longer a good deal to make the move to NZ. The money you save is no longer enough. Again stay away and thank me later. Unless you are a bum who intends to live off the state once you get your PR, stay away from NZ.
Hi Chris kumusta? very informative yung mga videos mo, tanong ko lang sana kung anong mas prefer mo na broker kung mag invest ako sa stock market here in nz and us market. TIA
typical stupid advice from an idiot! most of the people you talk about would barely pay mortgage and insurance at 3 percent and now the are forced to refix at 7 percent plus so they cannot even afford the ramen noodles which will get you a house! so how are those people surviving now with more than double the interest they started at and with the drop in valuation probably in negative equity so the banks can take their homes any time they want! you are not in the barangay now!
Hello dear thanks for information Once thing please tell me if I don’t have any experience in job how much I will get paid in NZ as I’m coffee maker job . Please could you give me a example
Hi! I’m looking to rent out my place soon and considering both property manager or self managing. Just wondering, how did you vet the prospective tenants? Do you ask them to write a blurb about themselves before letting them view the property?
I don’t but some tenants have the initiative to write something about themselves, I always like that. I do police check and credit score check. Hope that helps 😊
Hi Christine, been watching your videos since 2020 and I love them. It’s not often I can see a young Asian woman sharing their property investment journey. It’s very informative and inspiring. I have a couple of questions of you don’t mind answering… would you ever consider buying an apartment as an investment property? Are you topping up mortgage for this one or does rent cover all? I have a 2 bed 1.5 bath townhouse that we are living in now but wanting to buy an apartment to move into while renting this one out. I’m in Auckland though. FYI I’m Chinese and my partner, he is Filipino! ❤
Hello @gointomars I haven’t really looked into apartments because I can’t add value to it, like for example add a garage, unless it needs a cosmetic renovation. That’s my reason. However, I’m sure there are investors out there who are more knowledgeable than me about apartments. ☺️
