I think the story of the girl making 378k a year writing on Fiverr is a little exaggerated. Think about it, that figure means she makes over $1035 each day all year around (assumes no weekend, no holiday, no xmas, no nothing break). Let us assume she works 10 hours a day (which, let us be honest is hard, ie to work 10 billable hours), that means she 'charges' about $103 an hour. Unless she is writing for the likes of Google and Neflix or maybe writing in C# or Java or Python, it is really really hard to make that kind of money writing in English! In another video, she mentioned that she can type 3000 words per hours, which is quite impressive but achievable. More math: if we continue with the same logic, she is charging 3000/120 = $25 per word (including probably a, the, by, etc). And this also assumes that when she has a blog post or e-book to write, she does not research or think or draft, she just go straight to the keyboard and type away, 50 words per minute. Ha! To make the math more exciting, let us remember that Fiverr pays freelancers AFTER taking off their 20% cut, so she is making over $125 per hour working 10 hours for 365 days a year! hmmm! And if we go more realistic on time, ie negotiating deals, researching, reading, drafting, corrections, idle times, some break/holidays - numbers blow out of proportion.

She has employees now and has made a business out of it. In the cnbc video, it didn’t explain it very well how she’s earning the 300k per year. She’s in another channel, the Iced Coffee Hour and they go in depth of how she’s making the 300k per year. 😊
