That is so scary! I dont what I would do if I was in that situation. I know this doesn't compare, but I used to work for a bank as a teller. When I applied for the job I was excited and thoughts of a bank hold up never came into my mind. That was until people started asking me what would you do if......and then of course when I started training on the job they train you for that. So at this point the thought of getting held up was always in the back of my mind. Thanks to God it never happened while I was working there. I'm happy you are okay.
Lmao..Taking silly jobs way too seriously. Paranoia and escalating the mindset is what ends up causing trouble for folks... YOUR officer lmao. Man you got brainwashed pretty easily.
I work at a hospital where the safety of staff is taken very seriously. I am required to take this job seriously. Even retail security becomes a target when they work. Have a great day.
Hey dude , just subscribed to your channel. I’ve been working armed security here in Atlanta. Along with pest control. Keep up the good content. Salute 🫡
Lol no it's not either me or my fellow officersget physically assaulted at least once a week. Between 30 officers that averages 15 assaults where we have to defend ourselves. This does not include the times that we have to step in and defend medical staff from assaults.
Your opinion doesn't matter. Stop acting like it does. This man has a serious and important job, full of potential dangers you'll never experience in your unemployment bliss.
Glad you’re safe! From experience working in the inner city, that’s why you got to train and prepare mentally and physically for that 1%! Not many do or want to because they’re complacent and have the “nothing will ever happen” mentality. That’s why I’ve touched on physiological trauma and mental health recently and exactly why I became an instructor on it for other first responders. Your correct! Laws of Murphy, anything can happen anywhere! Can’t discuss topics but there are reasons why we have law enforcement officers at the ER I work. And there is reasons why we carry as armed guards at the ER. As for active shooter training, that’s a prime example of security guards not wanting to do any training, even if it’s free training at the expense of the government. It’s sad and scary. If homeland security authorizes photos and videos, I’ll probably have some good videos and photos next week of a three day law enforcement active shooter response class I’ll be doing down in Georgia. Sadly, no one from current job and others I know working security wants to go even though all they’ll have to spend money on is their own food and drinks. Same thing when I did the ALERRT classes. It’s sad and scary! Can’t be prepared if you don’t train. Without awareness is no preparedness and without training is not preparedness. Not going to learn much from watching videos or reading. Run, hide, fight is just common sense and natural human reactions. That’s why I stick with the hands on stuff and only if it’s at a law enforcement or even military level, and not just some random instructor, because you got to train and prepare mentally and physically for that 1%!

I work un-armed Hospital Security in Toronto Canada, dangerous job, im a bit scared of getting injured but im gonna keep being there to protect people. Everyone deserves to be safe
Always great to see police officers and other first responders having fun because they all have super stressful jobs that take a toll on both the body and mental health , they gotta goof off and do things to make each other and everyone else laugh so they can take their minds off of whatever problems they are going through.
One of the reasons why our society is in the shape that it’s in is because it rewards bad behavior and punishes good At my hospital anytime I try to assist or help patients. I tend to get in trouble and told that we are not allowed to interact outside the scope of security I see articles all the time detailing stories of security going above and beyond comforting patients , helping them with even the most basic tasks My hospital is such a toxic environment, the corporate staff or destroying it We have been security cameras for almost 2 years now Most of the time they are cut off due to nonpayment since the company doesn’t care about their bills If more people started going above and beyond and pushing back against the naysayers , it would work out better. I get so tired of seeing people say just do your job. Nothing more nothing less. That is the laziest most complacent attitude I remember when Covid first hit and we Security took it upon ourselves to monitor who entered and exited the building so that we could document temperatures and make sure security procedures were followed, especially at first But we ended up getting bitched at because we were doing a “ nurses job” I’ve never in my life seen a client go through so many mental obstacles to justify piss poor behavior The overwhelming majority of the time the grass isn’t even cut
Right? I feel that a major issue with most hospitals is that they promote from within. Nearly every upper level management position is filled with nurses. They run the corporate end of the business as an emergency room. They are in a constant state of triage, reacting to every "emergency" that presents. Instead they should be proactive and manage the business with an actual plan.
Yeah I hear you. In our employee handbook it mentions that we are embassadors of the hospital so I feel like that kind of puts some responsibility on us.
It all just comes down to perspective. If all you're thinking about is negative then of course your work ethic is going to suck. Being positive and knowing that your contribution to the team is valued. Even when it's not verbally being said by leads/managers. When I round the hospital floors. A few nurses/staff will thank me for doing my job. And it may not seem like much, but security presence is valuable. Seeing a uniformed presence sets people at ease. Less patients will have behavioral issues when seeing us.
Uniforms are also triggers for a lot of people. People can be calm for hours then once they see a uniform, they become agitated and aggressive. I’ve seen that plenty of times working in all kinds of environments with all walks of life. You alone, uniform or not, can be a trigger for someone too if you resemble someone they know. I also experienced that a few times as well working certain places and I didn’t even have a full style uniform on. I resembled their abusers in some way and I even witnessed others being triggers for people because others resemblances too. I had one kid attempt to stab me recently because I looked like someone he knew. Therefore, I was a trigger for him. As I’ve spoken about on here before and recently, mental illness isn’t talked about or discussed much in the security industry becuase triggers is and can be a form of mental health disorders.
One night, while the hospital was under construction, a fire started and took out the wooden fense and the pinestraw along the new build. It took us 4 extinguishers and 5 minutes to control the fire until the fire truck arrived. After searching the video surveillance,,, a nurse was smaking and threw the cigarette over the fence, then went back inside.
Another thing.... ask questions from experienced others. Learn the why. Why is he acting that way? Why is she twitching? Why is.... You learn the reasons behind certain traits and how people act. And Happy Birthday!
Your correct! The other thing you need to look out for is suspicious behavioral traits, previolent indicators and such in people. Learning surveillance detection routes/ counter surveillance as well is a good thing. Even learning counter intelligence among many other tradecrafts. It’s always good to learn many forms of tradecrafts when it comes to situational awareness and just about anything else. Sometimes certain things you do can make you a hard target and chances of getting attacked or anything makes it slimmer and those are a few examples. As i always say, it’s not about the look and the kind of gear that makes one a hard target. It’s the mindset, knowledge and capabilities. As you said, anything can happen to anyone and anywhere. It’s the laws of Murphy! But a lot of times, you can always stay a step or two a head of others by getting advanced training within situational awareness. BTW, not all places have security to protect a product or something. A good majority of places have security just for insurance saving purposes. I believe we’ve touched on that probably a year ago, lol. Good video! PS, thanks for the tag!
Do you know that guy that says he’s a security guard in citrus California? He’s a person he’s impersonating a security guard in the top that that vest is all decked out with the word sheriff on it not security. Out of curiosity if you were to replace the insole would the boot last longer or is the entire boot wore out? I have plantar fasciitis and I would change out the insoles every few months as is.
