One day I hope to be wearing g a pair of your glasses. You piqued my interest and gave me happy feels with thigh-ware as eyewear. But you owned me with hexagons (which are the BEST-agons) brass details. Material cost be dammed, We pay for craftsmanship and soul.
Oh my God that just explained so much because the little details you give your glasses is like 🤌 that’s the thing that I love so much about them Not a lot of glasses do that and I love glasses that have tiny details.
I've seen major designer brand "handmade" shirts that are actually made by machines in bulk in Singapore...How else do these people think they're everywhere in Walmart etc?
I think it's a great price! They are worth a lot more than that, actually. He's literally giving them away for material and labor. Where's the skill tax, the brand tax and even just because they're obviously one of a kind tax? Charge more 😂
Ok oakleys are the same price of these sunglasses and they aren’t handmade and awesome like these this is a pretty reasonable price for handmade but I would still get a cheap pair from the store cause I don’t have that kind of money to spend on glasses
A comment or two about price. We live in a world where the marketing of products - and the buying decisions - in competetive markets occurs based on price, quality, innovation or impulse - or a mix of those. This chap is producing a handmade boutique product with innovative aspects to its design. Anybody who even tries to comment on the price like some kind of judgement is totally full of s&&t and missing the point completely. The value of these products is exactly what people are prepared pay for them. And when I say people I don’t mean the bananas that say they’re too expensive. I mean people throughout the marketplace. I expect that most of those price-critics are people who buy only on price, either because that’s all they can afford (not a crime) or because they cannot bring themselves to part with their money.( being a Scrooge is not in itself a crime either but disqualifies you from serious discussion about other people’s buying decisions because you can’t understand them). The waiting list says all there is to say. They’re priced either just right or slightly low. The market has spoken. Congratulations to this creative designer and canny businessman !
As someone who regularly spends a few hundred dollars on named brand sunglasses with prescription lens’s I know how much mass produced frames cost. These take a lot more effort from a stilled craftsman - congratulations mate on building a really nice product and business!! :-) don’t focus on the one negative idiot vs the thousands of people who think it’s cool
The thing is yes they may be "expensive" at least in comparison to cheep sunglasses that are made in a factory setting yet when you have a USP (Uneque Selling Point) let alone a few in this case being the material its made of, its unequeness in the actual product, it being what you may call a premium product and them all being hand made allows a higher price. As mentioned in the video having a waiting list also may increase the price since there is a want for the product therefore people may (and obviously are) willing to pay more to be on the waiting list.
They are overpriced, but then all designer glasses are too, I just wouldn't pay that price period for any pair of sunglasses no matter who makes it, how its made or what its made from. If people wanna waste their money on a pair of sun glasses, that's their choice, I have no problem with that. This is simply my own opinion on the subject.
This could be a genius way of making some money with customers who want a memento of a beloved pet that has "crossed that rainbow bridge". I'm thinking it may be too ghoulish for some people but there's no reason you couldn't do this with ashes(?)
First of all cover the expenses. Break that doen per product. Then value your skills abilities and talents on top of that reasonably. If your unique there is higher value because people couldnt just go get them anywhere, if they want them, your the choice. But dont take advantage of that. Be human, even those considered poor might want your products. Why be cruel and price it out of their range? Live for humanity, not just a select group. One thing capitalism lacks.
I have to stop watching your videos, your creativity is too contagious. I'm watching this short over & over whilst having all sorts of ideas about what i could do with the 30kg of old jeans I've collected over the last 20yrs.
It takes time and skill to do what is necessary to make quality glasses for scratch not to mention cost of material filling out 30 orders solo can be stressful and Exhausting
I think 13 to 25 euro is a reasonable price but you can price your products as you will as you know how long it actualy takes unlike me basing it off the materials time i see and used machines
If you want to pay €13, buy some cheap, plastic, mass-produced glasses from whatever the equivalent of Walmart, ASDA, K-Mart, etc, is in your country. In no way is he going to make a profit for glasses produced by hand and of quality materials if he sells them for €13-25, that's nowhere near reasonable. The time alone put into each pair would bring it to more than that, unless you think he should pay himself below a minimum wage income, while also completely ignoring the cost for materials, workspace, electricity, machine maintenance, PPE, and so on. He would be running his business at a massive loss.
Nikes are dog shit. Takes about 3.25 to make a pair of nikes. They are also made in sweatshop like conditions over seas and use kids. I'm good. They quality is shit and very unethical.
Your glasses are a similar price, or cheaper than, designer glasses in general. Handmade, bespoke, or small batch items are always going to cost more, but as long as the craftsmanship is there then I dont see the issue
@@Laurenceomance Its actually a factory of plushies. Run by Ted the evil dictator. His workers are forced to work 16hrs a day just for Stuffing replacement....
I have cheap and expensive frames. My favorites are a pair of excellent condition gold Killy sunglasses with polarized glass rx lenses ($550 US). They're incredibly comfortable and have held up well for the past 5 years. I also have titanium rx Oakley's ($225) that have bad and squeaky riveted hinges that can't be repaired, carbon fiber Oakley's ($300) that have issues with their clearcoat after 6 months, some half decent Ray Bans ($350) that feel on par with the Zenni Optical safety glasses ($75) but both stained at the weld points due to sweat. And I'm hoping to buy some frames from you soon. Blue Titans.
