Wow Kelsey, you knocked it out of the park! Everything looks great and so refreshing. From all of the cleaning and painting, adding the gravel around the pool to new pillows and and faux plants. If you had just put the plants in the containers I wouldn’t have known they weren’t real. I would love for you to show us the space at night so we can see the porch and the solar lights. 😊❤🌼🌸🪴⛱
Does anyone else feel like we should give the little pool vacuum a name? I have noticed him making an appearance in the last two videos and he’s just a workin’ away alongside Kelsey. Lol Shout out to my fellow fake flower girls who want a pretty yard but know their limits! Watching you trim off that liner was as gratifying as watching a power wash. What an amazing transformation!!! Such a great backyard to relax and enjoy and also still keep it fun for the kids with the trampoline. It’s a REAL home and not a show home. You’re an inspiration! ☮️❤️
Thanks so much! My kids have been coming up with names for the vaccuum. Dolly the Dolphin. Debbie the Dolphin. 🤣🤣 My indoor robot vacuum is named Ramona.
Yes I too want to see at night with lights you put out there 👍 great work, project very well done. You gave me some great ideas and a lot of inspiration! Take care and God bless 🙏
I would paint the garden fence with a wood protectant, since you cleaned it with the high-pressure cleaner beforehand, all the pores are now open and it would be better to treat the fence! Best regards❤
I was sooo skeptical when you showed all those artificial plants- but you pulled it together so well! But Honestly with your ability to learn skills so fast and well, you would catch on so quick to gardening if you branched out in that bubble, even on RU-vid! Plus gardening is so good for the soul! Just my 2cents, your backyard looks great! ❤️
You did an amazing job around your pool and patio. If you ever do want to put plants Around the pool My sister did that with hostas They can take a beating. Turned out so beautiful with all the plants.🌺🌼
WOW! You are such an impressive lady Kelsey. You make everything you do look so easy, and i love the obvious common sense tricks like using the block as a space keeper. I admire your attention to detail and your ability to find ways to cut cost. I watched your staircase makeover series 3 times and finally took the plunge on that project and I've done the demolition and ill start staining and painting tomorrow. Ill be very proud if it comes out half as good as yours. Thank you for making the videos and teaching novices like me how its done. Best wishes and happy spring to you and yours.
This refresh really did freshen everything up! I can't believe how much better the pool looks. It'll be fun for you to relax out there and enjoy your hard labor!
It looks really good, ready for summer! The stones around the pool, good solution and keep dirt from splashing up on the sides. The pool looks so much better painted. A bit surprised you choose white and not the same color as the back of your house, gray color. I like the plants, good to know about the UV fading.
The pool update looks great! Getting on Amazon and ordering some fake plants! I get west sun on my front porch, so between the hot Texas sun and the high plains winds, it is impossible to keep things alive. Thanks for sharing and keeping me inspired:)
Exactly! After this video, I added some rocks to the bottoms of the hanging plants because it’s so crazy windy here! My amazon storefront in the video description has the links for the most realistic faux plants if you want to save some time instead of ordering a ridiculous number of plants like me 🤣
I’m in west Tx (Midland/Odessa) which is the desert area of Tx. We get a LOT of wind and high temps, and my house also faces west. I’m an avid gardener, and I’m able to keep plants on my front porch alive. I have two live triple boxwood topiaries on either side of my front door, a pot that has a hollyhock that I started from seed last yr, two pots with dahlias, one pot with cosmos that I started from seed, and one pot with zinnias that I started from seed. I also have an old cast iron mailbox that I turned into a planter with sweet potato vine in it. I also have two long flower beds in front of my front porch filled with roses, and a huge tunnel of arbors over my front path to the front door covered in climbing roses. They all face west. As long as u choose plants that can handle brutal sun, and u water consistently, it’s very possible to have live plants in a brutally hot area.
I really like the color that the flowers add. I have 3 pots at the front of the house and one by the front door that I've been thinking of adding artificial plants and glowers to. I used to think it was a little tacky but I've changed my mind. Yours doesn't look tacky at all! And I've planted real plants too many times just to have them die because I'm too lazy to water them. Plus I really don't like to waste water either and plants in pots definitely need it. I plant drought tolerant ones in the ground so they are low maintenance. I just repainted the front door and now it's time to finish the spruce up. I think the flowers in the hanging pots are supposed to be morning glories. Thanks for including the links.
Love, Love, Super Love what you did to make the pool so fresh and clean looking. I was kinda hoping you would show us what the solar lights look like at night. Maybe you can do that in another video? I love the look of the hanging baskets flanking the porch and those trailing flowers look real.
Amazing job! Have you considered cladding the pool with cedar planking to match your deck? Something to consider if you get bored with the white (although the white looks so crisp and clean!).
Hi Kelsey! I'm Jenny & new to your channel. The pool looks great. We are having to replace our above ground pool this year after some storm damage and this one is supposed to have a beaded liner that won't overhang. I was excited about that. lol
You did it again! Created a beautiful space for relaxing and even entertaining! Beautiful back yard and I love your choice of colors on your flowers. They do look realistic!
Kelsey, where did you get your chase lounge chair cushions? Everything looks beautiful, nicely done. You will love having the rocks around the perimeter of the pool.
How did the new solar railing lights work out? Do they give off enough light? Great job with the paint on the pool. It looks brand new. Keep up the good work.
I'm tardy to the party, but would you mind sharing the links to the patio lights and the hanging flowers you chose? Absolutely love how everything turned out 👏
Your backyard looks beautiful. The rock border around the pool and painting it really finishes it off. Also, I love all the flowers. I started using artificial flowers this year, too. They add color and, best of all, no maintenance.
That liner on the pool drove me crazy every time you showed a shot of your backyard. LOL We had one like that on our old pool and when we had to replace it we bought one with a beaded track so there is no overhang. Just FYI, in case you ever have to replace your liner. Your backyard is beautiful.😊
That pool looks just like ours and that excess liner hanging over has always bothered me but I 'm afraid to do anything to it but this video is putting me at ease
As usual Kelsey well done !! Gorgeous refresh The pool looks so much better ( you can also use cardboard to block weeds at first then do the soil and landscape fabric/ rocks/border) The only thing I’d want to try is moving the tall plant by the stairs over to the space left of the 2 lounge chairs so it’s not blocking the stair walkway
Everything looks fantastic. I couldn’t help but notice the grass is suffering a bit. Is that from the pool chemicals getting on it? There is a great grass seed called Jonathan Green, it’s supposed to be super tough with its roots growing in deeper than most others. I bought it and it works great or maybe just try overseeding now in Spring and Fall
The chlorine and muriatic acid in the water kills the grass around the pool. That's why when there's an in-ground pool it usually has fairly wide concrete or stone patio around it.
I think it’s a combo of the pool and also the area we live in. For some reason our yard has struggled to grow grass. I’ve been researching different options.
