I'm just an every day guy, trying to go as fast as I can in the 1/4 mile in my 2018 Audi RS3 race car as well as my current daily driver. I'm located in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

Please do this test in Phoenix then! I'd love to see someone actually prove that theory! There have been a few people that have said that now, so it would be amazing to have someone do the exact same test as I did in a hot climate and see the results.
Great upgrade! I just did it yesterday. On a lift it's a 2 minute straight forward job. There isn't much NVH. Noise/Vibration/Harshness but it feels like I did a software update to the transmission and slightly tightened up the suspension. The shifts up or down at any speed feel so much better.
Whoever you heard that from is being a little b#tch 😂 Of course you are more likely to break things from utilizing launch control when you're making a bunch more torque over stock. With that said though, I did a TON of launches in my car and never broke any components. I also know of a ton of other B9 owners that use launch control all the time that have never broken anything
As long as you're purchasing the test pipes from him and not trying to bring in your own and have him install them, I'm sure he'd be happy to take on that job! Send him an email at info@reiterperformance.com to book an appointment.
How do we know we aren’t seeing heat soak if you don’t show IAT? The timing advance seems consistent with the IAT decay tables. You shouldn’t see dramatic difference with fuel on a stock tune. You would need to turn the boost up and not heat soak to test fuel. I custom tune my GTI on Eurodyne Maestro.
The good thing is I was watching the IAT's and ensuring that they weren't all over the map. We cooled down the car thoroughly in-between fuels. Not only that, we've seen it over and over and over again locally that some fuels are not nearly as good as others in preventing knock even when of the same octane value.
What's your secret to keeping the power down out of the hole? I'm stage 2 unitronic ecu/tcu flex E85. I spin to much off the line. I'm hitting a 3.01 0 to 60 when I know I could do better. Also have full JRI coilover set up as well. On fairly new PS4's too. Edit: Syvex controller... also, how do you use the RAL for Unitronic on our RS3s?
@DigitalHabit as shown on the pump at CO-OP, FlexFuel ranges from E51 - E83, whereas the E85 at Northside Petroleum is always E85. Luckily CO-OP has always been E63 and it hasn't fluctuated.
@DigitalHabit it's horrible that we only have ONE E85 provider in the entire province! Without them, none of us horsepower junkies would be able to get our fix!
I'd rather not gut my RS3 like yours. I have carbon fiber seats coming and lighter wheels. How much slower will that make my car ? I don't have the mods you do. Currently, I am full bolt ons E85 tune on DS1 by Rada Race Lab.
This is an impossible question to answer. There are a million and one variables in drag racing which determines how fast your car will be. If you are currently running DS1 software on a stock turbo then you are nowhere near as fast as my car is in this video.
Modified cars are cool but you should have a car without modifications because having a reliable car is important but the weekend car you should totally make it the fastest yet reliable by not going to overboard lol 😂 it’s tricky good luck 🍀
Considering they didn't vary any more than 2-3whp & wtq between them all, no, I won't be. I simply used the smoothest of each of the octanes to show to the public.
😢 sorry! Been going through the ringer with life and haven't been able to edit any of the footage I've shot. Plus some other delays we've seen. With that said I have a bunch of videos shot already, and they just need to be edited now.
@@VancityAudi I completely get it Adam. No worries! Life and family always takes priority. I look forward to what you have up and coming. My father always said "patience is a virtue". We will be here when you drop the next one!
Yup! All ECS parts, and yes if it is in a hot environment for its entire life, it will eventually yellow. My didn't though because I don't don't live in an overall warm climate
Great ! go to some Sketchy rundown 'gas station' deep in upper Armpit..... and Pay even More for e85 (IF? that is actually what is in the pump) In the hopes of a few more HP from your Shitty VW Audi
@@VancityAudiOk, I have a 2023 S4. I did everything you said (checked many times). My boost doesn't build and my rpms stay at 2k . Tried it multiple times, no change. Suggestions?
@lits5984 sounds like a software or hardware issue then. Have you logged the car when lunch control is active to see what the car is doing? If not, have you reached out to your tuner letting them know the issue?
@@VancityAudi I have had the car about three weeks, tonight I tried the launch for the first time. I have an appointment at Audi next week for some other issues with the connectivity app. I will see if I can talk to the mechanic working on my car, maybe he can run a diagnostic or knows of the issue. I appreciate you responding, thank you. I will let you know what happens, for now no more tries 😂
Hey Vancity Audi, here in germany the TTE Turbos are very popular. Are in these upgrade Turbos the wastegaterattle fixed? I got worrys, when i upgrade from oem to a TTE 777 with a Downpipe.. that the rattle fucks me up every morning. Greetings from germany
As I understand it, all Shell fuel for western Canada, is refined at the Fort Saskatchewan (Edmonton-ish) Scotford Refinery. What are the difference between Edmonton 93 and Vancouver 93? Is the Vancouver 93 modified somehow once it arrives in the Lower Mainland, or is it different fuel when it departs Scotford? Cheers
Spectacular test! It's making me consider changing my fuel buying habits. That said, I live in Edmonton, not Vancouver. The only car I need 91+ in is a 2005 Jaguar, normally aspirated V8. I doubt I would see much of a difference between Premium Costco fuel and Shell 93. I am missing something? Many thanks for your efforts!!!
Possibly not in that car, but the only way to know for sure is to run each fuel in similar conditions and datalog your car to see if it advances the timing on one fuel vs the other to make more power. Also keep in mind this testing is specific to the Lower Mainland, BC. I have no idea where the fuel in Edmonton comes from, and I know for certain it is made with different specifications than our fuel is.
At the time of this video, I believe it was stock. Now he's running 10's in the 1/4 mile and runs an aftermarket exhaust and Tunezilla software rather than Unitronic.
Hey Adam I have an issue with my TTE710 on my sq5. Was wondering if you ever experienced the car going into limp mode or just absolutely no power randomly. I’m using IE tune stage 3 plus hpfp rs injectors . When it happens , if I step on the gas the turbo spins and wines real loud and the car barely moves. No cel either 🤦♂️. Any help would be appreciated 😁 Thx
Wow, that doesn't sound good. Have you logged the car or informed IE of the situation? Nothing like that ever happened to me when I ran that turbo and tune.
@@VancityAudi ya Ive informed them of the situation and have to send them logs but I’m pretty sure that won’t help as it really random . Sometimes even does it on startup and all I have to do is shut it down and restart it and it’s fine . Really weird
This is not a true representation for cattless downpipes they have been designed to have the honeycomb in them you purchase different catless down pipes that was designed for ..you have altered the Downpipes that’s all that’s why it don’t run better than original
Well, the good news is they're coming back! The RS3 is back in action. I have videos shot. I just haven't been able to edit any of them. I promise you that videos are on the way and you'll see more of both of these cars again.
To bad the clutch on every single one of these things is HOT ASS GARBARGE and if you even add 1lb of torque - bye bye clutch lmao- obv its not that low- but if you add any real power or ANY tune- without gimping the torque- its gg
Downpipes should definitely make more power if you tune for them Simply replacing them will only net you a more sporty sound the ECU can’t adjust for the less back pressure on its own .
87 burns faster than 91 so it often results in more HP than 91. On the flip side 91 burns slower so it can reduce pre-detonation, Which is the primary reason why a lot of high-performance engines recommend 91 octane.. it’s not to give you more horsepower, it’s to allow the fuel to burn slower and more stable in order to reduce pre-detonation, especially in high compression engines or engines with forced induction, which can be more susceptible to pre-detonation due to the higher cylinder pressure.
