This channel will be dedicated to making projects in my shop and anything else that interests me or I think will interest you. Most of what I do involves turning but content will vary. There will be a combination of uploaded videos mixed with the occasional live feed. The processes and techniques I use are the ones which work best for me and I make no claim that things on this channel are the correct or safest methods. Copy at your own risk.

I have some walnut and hard maple pieces. I'm going to try this. My walnut is twice as thick as the maple, 1" and 2", will those dimensions work?

Thx for the vid. What's the eventual plan for the floor? I wonder if you saved some of the planks or...?

great review but suggest one thing at "2:00" in the video. You use your finger to show where the pillar needs to be positioned (towards the headstock) but you say, that the "pointed side should point out" and I am sure you meant "in" as that would be in the direction of the headstock. Minor issue but you could make a small adjustment. Thank you for making the video!!

That is simply beautiful. I really like the one line of maple. Wasn’t sure at first but the more I watch this the more I like it. What is the height and width of the urn?

How can you not value your time, talent and expense for only a few bucks each? Better off mowing yards if it’s money that motivates you. Otherwise give them away for free, you’re close as it is. Markets are different wherever you go. Maybe you’re in a poor economy, I don’t know. Each must decide.
@TheKlondikeCraftsman
@TheKlondikeCraftsman 2 месяца назад
I’m unsure what you mean Mike. Understand that a few bucks each times a few of each per hour is not just a few bucks. It is significant. I took my time for demonstrating purposes. These are profitable I assure you. I appreciate you watching!

I cannot in good concise say for sure. It really depends on the contact surface between Chuck and core. Thank you for watching!

I am not sure who Elana Ross is, but she shouldn't be reviewing this machine. If you tried to use the machine the way she has is set up you will probably hurt yourself. The second piece she inserts in the tail stock is the drive center. I cannot speak to the quality of the machine, but it is obvious this woman has not used ANY lathe, much less this one!

I def just haven't had enough practice everyone I watch gets that wood throwing. I bought some carbide until I my sharpening kit shows up but the tear out it leaves is almost unsandable I can't tell if I'm doing something crazy wrong or just not technique efficient or what
@TheKlondikeCraftsman
@TheKlondikeCraftsman 4 месяца назад

@TheKlondikeCraftsman
@TheKlondikeCraftsman 4 месяца назад
Some woods you can get away with. I turned it thin and that also reduces the chance for it to crack. Don’t try it with fruit woods like cherry, apple etc. Those will split in two. Thank you for watching!

There is one problem I see is some people think they can use it for hummingbirds. Sorry they will never nest in it. Google it if you don't believe me. So selling it as hummingbird house would be a scam. You could use it as a knick-knack to put in your house like craftsmen's of this video states ornamental. And yes they very nice.
@TheKlondikeCraftsman
@TheKlondikeCraftsman 4 месяца назад
100% correct, hummingbirds will not live in them. The large ones always get swallows or blue birds though. Thank you for watching Lloyd!
