Am I the only one who is lowkey mostly on Finn‘s side regarding the lamp argument? Should he use slurs? Absolutely not. Is it understandable that he’s frustrated and blows up in an attempt to push away someone who has been harassing him for months? Completely. Kurt deserved some sort of repercussions for being a creeper. In fact, I would have overall taken points from Burt for how he handled the situation. Protecting Kurt is of course good. Immediately assuming Finn was randomly launching an unprovoked homophobic tirade instead of finding out what was going on didn’t leave room for teaching Kurt that he’s not entitled to keep doing things he knows are genuinely affecting Finn’s ability to feel safe and comfortable in his own home. Kurt is so wrong for that and Burt could have made him stop. Using a poorly chosen unkind word that he obviously didn’t really mean doesn’t make Finn gleevil. Edit: Sorry for making a long comment longer (I love Burt, but him evicting first and asking questions never in this scene and the fact that Kurt was never made to apologise for his part in it has rubbed me the wrong way for 14 years and I will die on this hill) but I just wanted to say I’m queer, so nobody come for me about how terrible Kurt hearing a slur with his delicate little ears is. I know homophobia is not okay, okay? I do not think that Finn is blameless by any stretch of the imagination.
2:18:12 mmmm, nah. I will throw in The Average White Band as an example of white people doing funk well. Love Of Your Own is one of my favorite songs ever.
