Hi folks! Thanks for stopping by! I am Indira - I am a nutritional therapy practitioner and a health coach. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and at one point in my life I was severely disabled and bedridden. I did extensive research on my own trying out different dietary and lifestyle changes and finally after a period of two years fighting the disease, I was able to manage my RA well using a holistic approach. This channel was originally created in 2010 (pre RA) to document traditional Kerala recipes. After my experience healing myself with diet, I decided to blog about healing recipes which include AIP as well as gluten and dairy free recipes. I also share information about general nutrition tips for healthy weight loss. Hope you learn something useful while you are here! Do comment and lmk what topics / recipes you would like me to make videos on! My websites: For healthy recipes: www.cook2nourish.com For my nutrition coaching program for RA: www.rheumatoidstrong.com
Hi There, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Ii have not eaten proper roti since u was in my mid 20s now I am 60 and I made the best roti ever❤❤❤❤. Please tell me how to make puri with casava flour🙏🙏
Thank you so much for this! I've been using Native canned coconut milk ( no guar or other gums ), but it is adding that much more to my weekly grocery bills. I will try this and see how it goes. 😊
Interesting to see the texture of this, and how you test the mix, its the same as making various Korean rice cake desserts, but they use soaked and ground rice and then steam it 🤔
You shouldn't use extra virgin olive oil with Indian food because the flavour of the oil and the spices clash. It is much better to use a light olive oil which in any case is healthier for heating to high temperatures.
Hello, contrary to popular media, extra virgin olive oil is the only oil you should be using if using olive oil. Light Olive oil is mixed with vegetable oil to make it light. How do you think it becomes light. I prefer to go with real foods any day and so I avoid all light oils and only use oils in their purest forms.
yes that's right. I have mentioned before in my videos that I am now able to use kashmiri chilli powder which is a milder chili powder without getting a reaction. You can omit it if you are in AIP elimination.
Thanks a lot! Means so much! Did you check out my cookbook AIP INDIAN FUSION? You can get only the ebook since you are outside US but I am sure you will love it!
Hello, Thank you for this comment. Since it gives me a chance to make a statement to all those who think like you. Pretty Nails or manicured hands is not a priority for me. It takes me a lot of effort and time to make these videos that helps other people who have RA or an autoimmune disease like me. That is the ONLY reason I am making videos. If I wanted to look good and become just a glamorous influencer, I would probably pay attention to my nails. But sorry that's not a priority. My nails are clean and dirt free. If you have a problem with my nails, just don't watch my videos. Simple.
No grains are allowed in the AIP diet so even rice is not allowed. But yes you can eat onions and coconut. Please check out my cookbook AIP Indian Fusion which gives a detailed list. cook2nourish.com/aip-indian-fusion
No. All dairy is avoided on AIP elimination. After you feel better, you may try to reintroduce buffalo or goat or cow milk that is pure and raw like from a farm and try it to see if you react to it.
Actually i am from north India and one of my close relative hit by R arthritis from d last 3 years. I am searching ur cook book here in india and could not find it. It’s really helpful if u suggest from where to buy. And i really want to congrats u for ur very much helpful videos.
Hello, great video. I didn't have issue putting the lid on, but once the lid is on it's a bit wobbly/loose. Is it normally like that? I thought that once the lid fixes into place it become tight. Hope you can answer ,y question. Thank you! :)
I give an option of using coconut oil instead of ghee. Many people who have issues with dairy also do ok with ghee since it does not have the milk protein.
Being from Andhra, this is one of my favorite dish. Sometimes I even add few Tbsp of coconut paste or 1/3 cup of coconut milk. Top with ghee at the end instead of coconut oil. Mutton can be used instead of chicken. I understand your recipe is Aip compliant that is why green cardamom or cinnamon stick is not used but I am sure yours is equally delicious. Thanks for sharing .
Thanks for sharing! This is not really AIP compliant with the green chillies but if you exclude them it can be. Good to know that cardamom and cinnamon can also bee added! Topping with ghee sounds delicious too!
I recommend not to use Anthony's goods organic cassava flour as rotis made using it have a wierd texture. But you can use Otto's organic cassava flour.
All seeds are initially avoided in AIP elimination phase. But after you begin to feel better you can add the seeds like sesame to see how you do. The high omega 6 in tahini is not a problem as long as you balance it with omega 3s from other foods like fish etc. Everything in balance is good. Omega 6s from processed oils like vegetable oils are not good for the body as they are inflammatory but sesame / tahini is a natural source of omega 6 which is good for the body. Hope that helps.
