I'm glad there are people like you guys who are willing to put in all this work to preserve these historic vehicles. Also, that's the first time I've seen anybody wear one of those mechanics' skullcaps since Dougie Franklin on 'The Red Green Show.'
i was in a national guard bridge company 87 to 95 when these trucks were turned in. Theywere all gas jobs but got the job done. Everyone a wide load empty !
Great video- good to see that you are still having fun . I was hoping that would you give an update on the M-38 jeep that you were starting to restore. 5:25
Where y'all been hiding at all this time, because its been a very long time since last time y'all updated video if I remember right. Glad to see y'all back, and hopefully we'll get to see y'all more often. Missed the builds y'all were doing. Not that i am fussing about it much lol
Its an electronically turbocharged Detroit 6V53 engine producing a little over 400 h.p. As with any turbocharged engine you should let it idle a little bit so the turbo can wind down if you turn it off hot like that the turbo is still turning at like 30,000 RPM with no oil going to the turbo bearings. This is really a good practice for all engines as the engine can cool down more evenly.
This is AWESOME! I live in the area and I've been waiting to hear when the next show is. I have many friends interested in seeing this. PLEASE do it again soon.
