The bulk of the videos on my channel are oriented towards firearms shooting (competitive, defensive/dynamic, and recreational) and photography.
Some of the videos are just posted as standalone media, but others were posted to support for some written article I wrote and published on my personal website (blog) at www.ocabj.net.
Are you still happy with the 13 twist, or would you rather choose a 16 twist today? I'm also going to order one of these barrels, but I don't know which twist rate I should go for.
@@Brotrindenvogel In all honesty, I’m not seeing any gains on the short course (100) which is what I normally shoot. So if given the choice of only one, I’d just say go 1:16. But this is my second Vudoo, so it’s nice to have 1:16 and 1:13 to play with .
From what I've held, get at least the Viper HD. Make sure they are the post-2018 revision (cross reference the model number on the Vortex site with the retailer you're buying from). This assumes you want something above bare entry level.
I don’t have one yet, the pics I sent you were of my buddy’s set up. I’m going to watch shooters use them in the upcoming matches and see if I’ll pick one up myself… I really like using my strong hand to hit the start switch on my current timer set up, so I would probably want to use the crush it with a pressure switch.
My bad. I assumed that one was yours. I need to test out the pressure switch in live fire drills. However, I am concerned that the activation with the pressure switch I picked up off Amazon is not 100% consistent.
Price tag is steep, but it is super clean. I imagine they will integrate the send-it level and timer in a future generation. I always set my par time to 2 seconds under stage time to account for reacting to the stage timer. Also having the option for a pressure switch is a huge bonus and makes it more versatile in mounting positions.
I think the best option for a combo unit is to partner with Brandt Built Concepts and have the level read out off the unit and go with the ocular LEDs. It *should* keep the until small. I am thinking about a -1 offset. As far as the pressure switch, the one I have is not 100% turning on the timer. Not sure why.
Big no for the price point, great product and spend tens of thousands on gear but it’s priced DOUBLE what it is worth. Just buy an Apple Watch for that money 🤦♂️
@@leadmonkey I considered one because I bought my dad an Apple Watch. UI requires distinct touches. Need something that will work with gross motor skills.
Do you have a recommendation on a quality 2.5mm pressure switch? I've been looking around and nothing pops up. I use Surefire lights which don't use 2.5mm switches.
@@ocabj Apologies. I really do not. I am just black boxing the problem across the internet, and my first suspect would be the cheapest made part. I also only use Surefire.
I have a hard time recommending one chassis over the other. As far as the bag, I'm indifferent. I think I would go with the schmedium; heavy fill if you're on flat range and git lite if you're in the field (or field match like NRL Hunter)>
Mag speed is closest to muzzle exit and there by will register a slightly faster speed than the two radar units? Do you know where the radar beam Pickens up the projectile?
You gotta hand it to Magpul. They make great stuff but I'm going to keep my Ruger synthetic stock. I have a buttstock bag to keep ammunition and a barrel snake.
Something about your narration reminds me if the f-class channel “winning in the wind”. And for some reason I expected more for the nrl22 series…..maybe I thought it was more PRS style.
The Midas+ lot I picked was averaging 16mm edge to edge at 50 meters, but a flier would open it up maybe 4mm edge to edge (just eyeballing the target printout). So maybe 12mm potentially.
@ocabj Most ladders have a caution or warning on the top "Not a Step". So, I don't think that is a rung. I understand the COF as: start where you want using the five metal rungs. Skip the most recently used rung seems to mean the last one used not the current one. So you would move to the second rung up or down from your fifth position. 🤷♀
I think the ambiguity is with the wording that "1 position may be repeated..." which seems to imply you don't have to repeat a position indicating there are 6 rungs. The recommended step ladder for NRL22 only has 5 rungs not counting the apex, but perhaps the wording takes into account a taller ladder being used by a venue. In either case, if someone shot off the apex, I would let it go because in the grand scheme of things, they moved to another position.
@@ocabjlol always a little wiggle room with the cof eh? I didnt think of a six step ladder Thanks for posting, love ur videos always a good day for me when the new cof drops
I have no preference. I tend to go curved because that’s what I’m used to. But I picked up a flat because I was needing another trigger to diagnose an issue in another gun and decided to try a flat TriggerTech.
I have been working from home for almost 4 years. I live over an hour from my office. I am no able to give more time for the company and gives me back more time for my self at the same time. I am lucky from the stand point I have a home office so really do not have much for Distractions. We work off of Teams and even when in office we would use Teams for most collaboration anyway. I feel I am probably more connected to my workers now working from home than when I was in the Cube farm at the Office. No 3 hours a day of stress Driving makes for a more relaxed work day.
Camo Form. It's a glorified wrap bandage in camo. I got a custom length Tripod Legging v2 made by ColeTac for the TVC-22i Compact (not seen in this video; got it after this was recorded).
I'm having a hard time building a light one, thinking of going for the XLR magnesium I bought an Oryx because it looked like the most minimal chassis, but it's heavy AF only problem is XLR delivery time is like months and I'm no good at waiting
There's no "skew" from the Magnetospeed. I believe the Magnetospeed more than the others. The Magnetospeed is the only one showing an ACTUAL RAW MV number instead of a "calculated" MV number. The others are displaying a "calculated" MV based on where it first begun tracking the bullet. The algorithms used in those radar chronographs are a bit on the conservative side in their estimations. That's why they are always lower than the Magnetospeed.
12x max will work fine. Run it. If you feel like you need more magnification (especially if your NRL22 venue runs the longer courses of fire out to 200+ yards), then you can consider getting a new scope. But run what you have. I feel like you should do fine with it.
Is the rail you have on your for end bolted on to the bottom o recently bought a used Eliseo rts from a tactical guy theres no rail to accept my hand stop. But theres screws on either side that accepts pieces of piccatiny i was looking for a bolts on rail instead of having my for end machined
There is no rail on my R5 forend. It's a cut in the 6 o'clock position of the forend to accept the handstop / sling cup that came with it. I don't think this is any specific standard and is likely proprietary (unless it's the Anschutz rail cut spec, albeit not flat).
I don’t agree with you saying you are gaming it on the props. I feel you are using the edge of the ladder and back of the chair to build a stable position.
