The bar is nice so far. I also like the throttle lock, but it takes a little finagling to get it to work. If you live in a hot area the friction pad needs to be affixed using some serious industrial strength heat resistant glue. Other than that, it’s a god send on the highway.
@@advinjapan Found the torque spec from the repair manual: Screw, shift lever M8 16 Nm (11.8 lbf ft) Loctite®243™ Screw, shift lever linkage M6 11 Nm (8.1 lbf ft) Loctite®243™
I have a 2020 in the USA I’m trying to get Offroad mode updated. Hope it works!! I’ll be showing my KTM dealer this video if they have trouble. Many thanks!
@@advinjapan thanks for the reply! I have read all the comments and it seems hidden ABS codes can prevent the Offroad ride mode updating. But as far as you know, a 2020 390 in the USA can get the Offroad ride mode? Is there any difference between countries that would limit that to your knowledge? Thanks for the help! Also subscribed!
Wow you has explained very nice way and too informative. Really I got ton of information and I will try these techniques in my up coming new season ride. Thanks 🙏🙏
Such amazing sights. I do have a drone but never use it, you have now inspired me to take it out again. I bet it wasn't easy climbing down the rock cliffs in bike boots....
I'm sorry, I had to giggle at your almost unfortunate accident... so recognizable, as I also have such stupid moments on my own adventures. Stay healthy, you both are in my prayers as well. Keep on going bro, ride safe!
I’d check first the bolts that attach the headlight to the frame. Next, the bolts that hold the headlight. Finally, the smaller bolts that hold the two halves together.
I looked at the TransAlp but two things made it a deal breaker. The price and tubed tyres. I sold my KTM 390 Adventure a couple of months ago and bought a CFMOTO 450MT and love it! Far better bike off road and trips for me over the 390ADV. The 390 is great little bike and great in the twisties and traffic, but is no off roader. Still subcribed to your channel for the great travel content. Sell you 390 and buy a 450MT! 😄
Hah! Thanks Roy, I’m glad you found a bike that works for you, Mate, that’s the most important. I sometimes wish I had that extra hp, but for the meantime, the 390 handles most of what we have here in Japan. I’ve heard so many good things about the CFmoto!
Hey, Nice video. I know you're busy, so I'll keep this brief. I'm interested in the status of the FuelX Lite and DNA filters. Given a choice between the two, what do you recommend to have first if one cannot go for both simultaneously? Could you suggest the following: FuelX Lite or a regular air filter from BMC or K&N?
Hey, thanks. Either of those will probably work. I personally like DNA filters. As long as you stick with an in box filter, you won’t need the fuelx lite. That said, I highly recommend the fuelx lite as it will greatly improve the low end performance of the bike.
Hahaha, I'm loving it! First your awkard fall and then the drag race... You took off like a rocket and then he blows past over you using all off his (over)power. Nice riding, have fun and stay healthy. Cheers!
I’ve done auxiliary lights, but not a video. For aux lights I recommend going straight to the battery. There is typically a large voltage converter that won’t fit in the headlight cavity. Good luck!
What about loosening off the upper straps when walking with the Tech 7? I forget to try this. LOL. I have the non-enduro Tech 7's and absolutely love them for Offroad and trail riding a KTM XC 300 TPI enduro 2 stroke. Do not not even know I have them on when riding for hours at a time. And never feel anything when I have a tip-over and the bikes ends up on top of my lower leg.
Ditto, if you watch my adventure series videos you’ll notice I’m in these boots ALL the time without complaint. Best boots hands down in terms of protection and comfort.
Thanks for the detailed video! I had no problem disassembling the headlight unit. The assembly was a bit more trying as I mixed up the order of parts to be put on and my family walked through my well organized screws on the floor... But it all worked in the end! Now have a Zumo XT mounted and wired as well as the sily cigarette lighter replaced with a USB charger.
Bypass your switch, make sure you have some way of tying up that kickstand. Could be surprised if the side stand spring exits stage left on you. It happens more often than you might think. Probably the number one reason why that switch is there in the first place.
Thanks for the tour of the factory, I had no idea the process took that long. Funny, I was thinking "I wonder if anyone has fallen" just before you asked. Cheers.
Wow another great video. And once again thank you for the time it takes and to do it all. And to see a glimpse of your country and them views wow wow. Love to see that at night. Just again thanks for your journey and your time. From the UK 😊
That's why I love Japan so much: stunning natural beauty, great food and fantastic craftmanship everywhere! Thanks again for showing us, ride safe and stay healthy!
Thanks for the video! A small comment: I would not ride with any helmet without earplugs. Hiw does it feel with earplugs? I am really considering the Commander 2. Feels like a helmet that would work fir me. I am usually a size 59 (L). Tried it in a store and felt good but coming from a normal street helmet it might feel a bit loose compared to that.
Hey thanks! The helmet is comparatively loud. I use ear plugs on the highway all the time. Tunnels are particularly painful😭. Other than that, great helmet!
