Log of which tree species is used? Can a Log other than oak be used?
@exemplify6593
@exemplify6593 20 дней назад
As far as I know, hardwoods are very usable. I know that Maples can be used for sure. You'll have to look into it yourself beyond that. Softwood trees cannot be used.

Mycosis. a bunch of kids were inhaling puffball spores to get high and the spores germinated in their lungs causing mycosis. I'm pretty sure that's the word. I take all of my old cultures or contaminated ones and dump them in a pile of lawn clippings and cardboard and today I went to soak the pile down and the whole top was nothing but spores. Clouds of them came off and I held my breath and ran! Still, I want giant puffballs growing all over my yard and that piles a start. morels, chantrelles, king stropharia, various oyster and shiitakes, P. Azurescens, lions mane, hen of the woods, chicken of the woods, turkey tail. That pile of grass is loaded with mycelium. Can't wait to see what finally pops up in my yard.

I love your works. I encourage you to keep going and making these videos. I use this video as a help and to promote what you do on my kijiji site where I offer native violet plants. I hope that this helps you because I do not press the like/dislike button (I do not play the algorithm game). I used to live up north in Haliburton County and sorely miss it. I found that smoking CIGARETTES helped repel blackflies and prevent getting bitten. Pure unadulterated diluted essential oils spray also worked. I also eat alot of garlic and sulphuric plants.

The spores are the antigen. The body makes antibodies. The highest risk should be anyone Immunocompromised.

Very good points. The kits for indoor growing should be under a tent maintaining about 80-85% humidity. For us, the house IAQ should be between 30% (winter) to 50% humidity. I like growing mushrooms outdoors, at least not in the home.. Also pick early. Even my so called Portabella of the woods (winecaps) have these black spores which darken food, so I pick them early. Oysters are very aggressive and have millions of spores. OK to eat but not to breath.

So profound… if you don’t know what you are missing… you don’t even see it when it is right in front of your face - (while it is still there!). There is an ancestral natural wisdom that’s getting lost… thank goodness for our indigenous neighbors and folks like you Chris 🙏🌳💚

I'm going to go with a red squirrel. That's because I'm not familiar with voles climbing trees much. So if it's a vole I'd imagine it would be lower to the ground. Or at the very least, not far out on the edge of bramches

Also, our government organizations need educating about so called "invasive weeds" for they are not that. They are unused, under-utilized herbage for remedies, food, and clothing which mainstream peoples have become unaware of, likely on purpose by the food boards and pharma boards over the century. I am so glad you are here.

Foraging ethically and sustainably should include secrecy of sites to prevent mass foraging to the point of extinction. Of course making a habit to leave a few is vital to feeding humans and animals in the future.

I come from various Ontario country settings and discovered Haliburton to have maybe 2 inch topsoil plus or minus - so precious and requires protection and nurturing.

I currently have clay soil too and have to develop the rich humus layer of topsoil from haybales, strawbales, and fallen leaves already bagged from in the city. Also when I find other debris like nut shells, oh, and evergreen needles go to the blueberries and the strawberry patch. (Weeds are held in check by evergreen needles.)

No machete's this year at my favourite hardware store. But I did buy another pair of secateurs - these are so easily set down and momentarily forgotten when moving on in the garden. Need to be Inspector Gadget.

I recommend placing mulch debris of fallen leaves, dried grasses, lawn cuttings from off the same property the rabbits are raised... under the rabbit cages to absorb as much urine as possible then placed at suitable intervals onto the compost heap for incorporating.
