This cover is truly amazing. This cover is so underrated. Even though the original song is meant to be sad, this is one of the only covers that can make me cry.
Nathan I just found u tbh but that's not only 10× better than your other covers of this song (no offence) but it is the most beautiful and heartfelt cover of this song and I truly love it and simply hope that you get nothing but good your way but also others get the chance to hopefully enjoy the amazing song
Leaves from the vine Falling so slow Like fragile tiny shells Drifting in the foam Little soldier boy Come marching home Brave soldier boy Comes marching home Those leaves did grow From branches overgrown Drifting slowly down Resting on the loam Little soldier boy Taken from home Forced to fight a war That's not his own Ash in the snow Falling so slow Like fragile, broken hearts With no place to go. Little soldier boy Come marching home Brave soldier boy Come marching home He thought he knew What he was fighting for, But the sight of blood Made him question war. Poor soldier boy Cold and alone, Bombs fall like rain, He's all alone. Leaves from the vine Falling so slow Like fragile tiny shells Drifting in the foam Little soldier boy says "Carry me home" Sleeping soldier boy Is carried home
I'm not sure if it's because I've heard this so many times or it's because I don't have a soul but I never cried while hearing This except for the 1st time I heard it.
i hope that you dont mind me remixing this for my cat that past about 7 months ago in august from getting hit by a car, the lyrics i made from yours are down below (also anyone that wants to use my lyrics may feel free to do so if he is ok with me using his lyrics to base mine[will be removed if he says he isn't ok with it]) _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Lyrics: Leaves from the vine Falling so slow Like tiny little shells Drifting in the foam Little kitty cat Come walking home Brave kitty cat Come walking home these leaves did fall From branches overgrown Drifting slowly down Resting all alone Little kitty cat Ran away from home Forced to die a death That was not his own Leaves from the vine Falling so slow Like tiny little shells Drifting in the foam Little kitty cat Come walking home Brave kitty cat Come walking home Leaves fell that night When everything was silent No one dared to make a noise They just stood there quiet The little kitty cat Found his way back home His owner wrapped his arms Around his corpse Leaves from the vine Falling so slow Like tiny little shells Drifting in the foam Little kitty cat Come walking home Brave kitty cat Come walking Come running Come sprinting Come marching Leaves from the vine Falling so slow Like tiny little shells Drifting in the foam Little kitty cat Come walking home Brave kitty cat Come walking Come running Come sprinting Come marching HOME! ____________________________ R.I.P Spot (June 2020 - August 2021)
The greatest pain a man can feel is watching their child being carried home in a flag draped coffin. My son was a Soldier with 1st battalion 9th infantry, on November 12th his company was pushing their way through the city of Fallujah. They were clearing a house and my son breached a door triggering a booby trapped grenade. My son and two other Soldiers were killed in that house that day. When I saw my son being carried off that plane I couldn't help but feel guilty. "If I hadn't retired, I could have saved him." No father should half to go through that.
I come back to listen to this every now and then since it sits in several of my playlists. Thanks for making this 1 year on. You made this cover right around the time I got into ATLA so I have a special attachment to it and that period of time
Leaves From the Vine Leaves from the vine, Falling so slow. Like fragile, tiny shells Drifting in the foam. Little soldier boy Come marching home. Brave soldier boy Comes marching home. These leaves did fall From branches overgrown. Drifting slowly down. Resting all alone. Little soldier boy Taken from a home. Forced to fight a war That is not his own. Leaves from the vine, Falling so slow. Like fragile, tiny shells Drifting in the foam. Little soldier boy Come marching home. Brave soldier boy Comes marching home. Leaves fell that night When everything was silent. No one dared to make a noise. The little soldier boy Found his way back home. His mother wrapped her arms Around his corpse. Leaves from the vine, Falling so slow. Like fragile, tiny shells Drifting in the foam. Little soldier boy Come marching home. Brave soldier boy Come marching home
Absolutely stunning! And it's great to hear you being more confident and improving the musical quality of these. However, I must admit that I still feel your first version is the best at catching the calm sadness, that I personally feel the song relays.
The fact that a "kid's" show had such depth is just incredible. In a young age we learned the cost of wars. From the creators to every single actor is leaving me speechless and grateful for having an impact on me.
How ATLA managed to make the audience mourn a character we’ve never seen or heard still marvels me. We feel everything through Iroh, we feel his pain, his loss, his grief, his heartbreak. One scene was all it took to feel all of this. This really is the greatest show ever. And this cover is amazing too.
The overwhelming feelings I get from this song, its meaning, and your own emotions gave me goosebumps. You happened to come across my recommended section, and I am so glad I clicked. Thank you so much for this cover.
