Why am I almost 10 minutes in to this, and there's no mention of Kresse? It's all about their lame issues. So far, season 6 is bad because lack of Kreese.
Kreese can't be taken seriously at this point. That's part of the problem. He was such a good character when he came back in season 2, and even had some additional depth when he tried to help Tory in the All-Valley (calling back to KK1), but this is just comical now. He should have stayed in prison and been reunited with Terry in a hilariously tense and ironic scene.
The writers strike and the decision to split it into three parts made the story suffer as a whole. Each season organically developed their respective plot points and culminations throughout each episode. Deciding to split in in three parts meant trying to squeeze tons of things into mere 5 episode blocks, making the pace feel very rushed and all over the place, and oddly enough - filler-like. And not even good filler, mind you. Camera work was weird and very different from the past 5 seasons and felt aesthetically different - distractingly so. Completely eradicating the entire premise of the show (that there are good lessons to draw from both schools of thought, and true balance comes from taking from both styles) by making Johnny miyagi do and not having the merger come with a new school name. Everything that has been built up since episode 1, and pushed very hardcore in seasons 4 and 5 fell to the wayside in favor of... Idk exactly. Lazy writing? Bad writing? Not knowing what that balance would look like? Idk. Kreese acting jarringly stupid during the snake scene (instead of, idk, being clever enough to get around/move/trap that bad boy so as to not get bit?). Wasn't he the same one who praised Hawks innovative approach to his assignment to kicking the plant off the pole? What happened? Him getting in and out of the country so easily without explanation was wild. The fights were mostly soulless trash with garbage music uncharacteristic of the show layered over them. Rehashing the Daniel and Johnny drama again even though it's been stale since season 4 (yet needed that season to give them the chance to finally hash things out) just to pad run time and give us more drama. If there was a master class on how to kill a great show, this would be it. Much more could be said, but I'll leave it at that.
I feel like eventually eli should forget tge hawk persona cause he only became hawk because of cobra kai and so that he can find confidence i think he should know he doesn't need a mohawk to be cool or to hide the lip but he should embrace it and just be Eli
6:30 european/african/middle eastern campaign medal? Isnt it supposed to be a limit of one continent per medal? I feel like if its another continent, thats a different medal😂 Jk
I think Tory joined Cobra Kai because she wanted a fair fight against Sam. She needs to win in a fair fight against Sam because of the cheat win. And she needs a win because her mom's death was too much of a loss for her.
This has been my favorite show for awhile now. Even got to meet a bunch of the Cobra Kai actors. I absolutely love the writing normally but in this season, the storyline was all over the place. It's like in the boardroom when tossing about ideas, one person was like, "Oh, there should be something to do with ancient Japanese dynasty!" Another person is like, "Hey, what if Mr. Miyagi has some deep dark secret?" Another, "What about a snake? We definitely need a snake. Can we put that in there somewhere? It is COBRA kai after all." And when did Anthony become a karate expert? I think it would have been more believable if Anthony turned bad and ended up becoming a drug dealer or something. He just has that look.
Tory is queen Sam is the worst Hawk is just a bit of a Douche Robby is just hate-worthy Kreese is the GOAT Johnny redeemed himself in season 6 Anthony pisses me off Demitri is usless Miguel was underplayed in the new Robby fight Chozen is still great Devon needs a W desperately Mike has made himself more of a menace to society somehow and Alicia Hannah-Kim is back
Keep it straight with the students since its Cobra Kai not Karate kid Wrath - Kenny " uncontrollable anger towards Anthony" Envy - Tory " desire on what Samantha had " Greed - Devon "Sabotaging Kenny's chance for sekai taikai just to get in herself " Sloth - Demitri and Anthony " with Demitri its the excuses to not do chore training in miyagi do, same with Anthony to the point of paying someone to wax the car and refusing to learn thinking its all a trick to do chores " Lust - Robby " Lusting on his father's love who is focused on Miguel in the earlier seasons " Gluttony - Mitch (P. Breath) " Choosing to betray his Miyagi Do friends just because Cobra kai offers better perks as he mentioned like girls, merch and better equipment " Pride - Hawk " holding the power that he once lacked over his enemies and even friends "
so much went wrong. the two biggest things for me are they turned chozen into a crybaby/wimp and johnny lawrence beating mike barnes. those two things are inexcusable.
These first episodes are horrible in so many ways. Season 5 was super rushed. Season 6 also feels rushed and is all over the place. Its very clear that cobra kai’s best seasons were 1 - 5 even though 5 was rushed. The writers at this point are just out of control and have lost their edge.
Every character in this show is stupid and yes , even Miguel, that mf lost my respect when he started simping and crying for a worthless bitch .the only character that’s not weird or stupid is Johnny.
Regarding hawk lose vs Dimitri it makes sense, hawk doesn't want to hurt his friend anymore thats why he hold back , and regarding loosing vs kenny indont think was a nerf , kenny was training a lot , and was learning techniques from silver
I liked a lot tye miyagi past sub plot actually enriches the character more filling some gaps on karate kid 2 and the fact of why Miyagi disliked tournaments
The problem with this season is that the characters are nerfed and act dumb just for the sake of fights and unnecessary conflict for example the fact that tori re-joined the cobras is just forced because robbie was nerfed, other character that was nerfed and dumbed down a lot is Daniel in this season Daniel is dumber than ever
Nothing went wrong. It's just the setup for what is to come. Season 5 ended on a two season journey with Terry Silver. Season 6 is just setting everything up for what is to come.
Also as a 3 part season and the ending of this first part jumping straight to the Sekai Taikai felt so rushed, I wasn’t a fan of Kreese coming back as it was, this show should’ve ended after Silver, he was a great villain well until the end when it got predictable but betraying Kreese and setting him up, knowing Kreese got out just made me sigh tbh, I guess I like that we got to see where he trained and how he now trains them kids but has this man seriously got nothing better to do but hold onto this fight with kids and you don’t see much of Kreese, he doesn’t feel like a threat and neither do the kids that he’s trained Daniel has become really unlikeable to me now, each line he says I’m afraid he’ll say something about miyagi, we fucking get it, mr miyagi trained you, it’s funny how it’s always been about growth, Johnny growing from his loss and creating soemthing for himself, Miguel growing from the bullying and becoming stronger as a person, Daniel hasn’t grown, he’s extremely petty and he’s got more childish as the shows gone on plus his so biased towards his kids, don’t get me wrong I get it, their his kids, but this is the Sekai Taikai that was set up like it was bloodsport or mortal kombat and he put forward his son who’s still a whiny brat, we’ve seen who the best fighters are and the way they try to choose them with catch the flag and shit, what the hell The characters I did like I’m starting not to like anymore, I really want to like Robby as a good guy but tbh since he’s turned to miyagi so, he’s been put to the side and I feel that’s been the case with all the characters that have gone there, Miguel was better as a villain, tori was better as a villain, hawk was better as a villain, they had more writing put in them and more shock factor with anything they did, don’t get me wrong, the changing of dark to light was a good concept for these characters but after that, they all suffered the what’s next for us, and there’s too many characters in this show and it’s got to the point where you can’t focus on everyone, I hate all the side characters, nothing they say or do is funny or interesting and they don’t serve any purpose and the shows just becoming more cringe, there’s basically no villain at this point, I didn’t care about tori going back to kreese, I knew what was going to happen when they met, it’s not shocking if you spoon feed it to us, the set designs look cheap and like I’m watching a Disney XD show All in all, I didn’t think I’d say this but I can’t wait for the show to end
This show lost credibility with me when they put Anthony in the final cuts for captain. Dude learned karate in a summer and making him better then the other students that have been doing this longer.
