Thank god finally you got the oled . I have currently the go and oled and I am seriously thinking to sell the go . Oled is just such an overall awesome device . Whatever I can't play on deck I will just stream from my ps5.

Smallest thumbstick caps of the Skull & Co set for Nintendo Switch Joycons work perfectly in terms of full range motion. They are still a tad tall to close the lid without pressing the R3, 4 buttons, but if you actually cut out the millimitre of padding inside with a craft knife, the lid will close flush, and you still have a better grip on the sticks.
its not a generation update from the normal ally as in its not an ally 2, not much is gonna change maybe the ally 2 but ally x no I doubt its gonna make much difference
LOL. Honestly bro.. both Asus one and the one I have the Legion are better.. My legion I perfectly used as a computer during 12 hour flight, managed to do all my work because it is a windows.. Never had a single issue with my steam games or epic games or whatever I want to install.. Screen is bigger and more immersive. Controllers can come off for a better tablet experience.. idk how can the steamdeck be better honestly
Thank you for such a honest review! I’m in the market for a handheld and deciding between the Legion Go and Ally X but so overwhelmed with the resolution, VRR, FRS3?, differences. I know I want a windows based unit (so I can use it for work stuff) but love the larger Legion Go display (and higher resolution for RU-vid and other stuff) but have read so much glitches on the Legion Go (no FRS or VRR, very loud fans, uncomfortable controllers/buttons on back…) it has me leaning towards and waiting for the Ally X. But still undecided.
My 135h is slightly faster than z1 non extreme , and now it's cheaper( At least in my country). With its full performance, it's even better than extreme version in some games. But I prefer battery mode for indie , and old aaa games.
Do you like how your steam deck feels? If you’d be okay with something bigger legion but if you like how the deck feels the ally is better because at least asus is supporting it
Highly recommend Droix bought mine through them and great service with 14day no questions return and a 1 year warranty. Love the win mini 2024! Awesome video :)
I had a Win Max 2 before the Mini and before that I had a Steam Deck. The jump in size and weight wasn't too big of a deal going from the Steam Deck to the Win Max 2 because the screen size and performance made up for the size/weight increase, but going from the Win Max 2 to the Win Mini was a lot more noticeable and I haven't touched my Win Max 2 since. There's something about playing AAA titles on such a tiny device that can fit in your pocket.
Yeah if I was going to use it for work/channel stuff or dock it, there would be no question but I have a 10900k with a 6900xt rig that has 0 resale value but still crushes games at 1440p so makes 0 sense that’s why I went with the mini
This is a really nice device. I have the 2023 version I picked up used from eBay fairly recently running Bazzite and it works really well. The case is pretty small, but I use the Aohi ultra slim 65w charger and a 6ft usb c cable which tuck in nicely. There’s a 3d printable shell recently posted on Reddit that you might look into that gives a bit more of an insulating barrier for thermals and a low profile grip on both sides. Basically, it looks to be designed to fit in the original case. If you’re looking for a different experience, definitely consider giving Bazzite a try, however I recently discovered SteamOS and Windows cloud saves don’t work well going back and forth. Thank you for the video
this device is goated imo. I have the oculink version because of the better image quality and since I lock games to a specific fps and use lossless scaling frame gen, I don't need VRR. The oculink port was a must for me because I had already bought an oculink eGPU.
Yeah we’re all worried about that to be honest. I would say the legion is better in my opinion but the support is better on the ally. I also think you can find the ally cheaper than the legion by like 100 bucks usually in the US
Great reviews as usual 👍 I was considering this device but when I saw the price I didn’t want it anymore 😂😂. It looks awesome I ended up going with the steam deck oled it’s a bit chunky but 3 to 3.5 h battery on any game. I had sweaty hands playing the oled without a case. I can’t imagine how hot this thing gets at 30w but you can’t have everything right. If this thing was 700 I would bite but I don’t think it’s worth 450 more than the oled.
Maybe u can give them feed back maybe they could add a function Samsung phones have that powers the device components only but not the battery. That way you can play at 30w without too much heating issues it works great on my s24 ultra.
@@joystickayrton yeah I been playing ghost of Tsushima with hdr it’s great experience OLED and hdr makes everything look better. There is a audio problem with sleep sometimes I recommend downloading decky loader and getting the pause game plugin. In pause plugin settings turn on pause before suspend and pause on focus and it will work great. The ease of use of the sleep button is great I played through Elden ring for a month just by using sleep come back 2 hours later it turns on in 1 sec lol. I saw on RU-vid if u switch the lock button to hibernate u get the same effect but it takes 15 sec and sometimes crashes.
@@joystickayrton yeah the oled is great I been playing through ghost of Tsushima and hdr and oled makes everything look beautiful. The deck has some issue with audio sometimes on lock button I found a fix download decky loader. Get the plug in called pause games and in the settings enable pause before suspend and pause on focus loss. It works great I played through Elden ring for a month!!! Never crashed played for 2-3 hours each time and now I’m beating the dlc. It’s crazy before I knew it I’m already beating the game it takes 1 second to lock and 1 sec to open so convient I haven’t been using my pc much bc of this. I read the widows handhelds can function somewhat the same if you change the lock button to hibernate but it takes 15 seconds and sometimes crashes.
Hi Ayrton, spotted your topic title and jokingly thought "what did I do?" 🤣 Title really got me! I was wondering if you ever got your Win4 issues resolved? I might be reviewing the latest Win4 8840U soon and I enjoy being able to find hints and fixes to help folk out. So if you have the older model I'd be happy to compare and contrast any issues with the latest model.
The first one I had was ghost touching they exchanged it for a brand new one and I had no issues after that. Should be a pretty drastic performance difference from the 6800u to the 8840 but I think everything else is the same
@@joystickayrton That was good you got it replaced. I've seen reviews mostly that the 7840U wasn't much of an upgrade over the 6800U and that the 8840U is no real upgrade other than AI over the 7840U. However there are very few Win4 8840U reviews so I'll aim to address that a bit.
i personally dont care about their form factor. where i think asus and lenovo dropped the ball was putting in screens with resolutions without the hardware to make use of it. like sure the z1 extreme is more powerfull than the steamdeck apu, but all those gains go out the window with 1080+ displays.
people forget that GPD is the OG of these handheld PC's. It's refreshing that they aren't caving into these ctrl+c/v candy bar devices. Love my Win MIni and Win Max 2
Xbox is making one so I'll stick with the steamdeck until that comes out. I won't buy another device from a company that doesn't offset the cost with game sales. But saying they shouldn't exist.. na. I disagree.
18:35 Flopping is a good thing. It tells the manufacturer what we want and don't want, and if they don't listen to this niche area, then they deserve to flop. The more product lines that flop, then the market is less saturated - and so goes the cycle. The winners will be us
The controller layout makes only the steam deck and zotac relevant to me. So its really not over saturated for me. I probably will get the zotac and run nobara os on it. Basically make my own steam deck 2. I just wish they were using strix point with 24-32gb ram.
comment section's kinda missing that some of these devices barely differentiate and that the availability of so many options is usually what comes before consolidation, when a bunch of these half-baked devices with a bunch of hardware issues (don't they always - laptops too) and barely working software will get zero support because oops that product was a failure. it may just be smart to get a deck and upgrade once the dust settles.
I mean, all having similar designs is down to ergonomics, because, the human hand design won't change anytime soon and thus there are only so many ways to design a confortable handheld PC/Console. It was the same with the controllers, in the times of the first 3 geneations of consoles there was a lot of crazy and weird designd of controllers floating around, fast foward 40 years and there are basically 2 main design choices, the PS and Xbox designs because they are near to the optimal ergonomic design for the human hand and even the Nintendo and other third party designs are extremely similar to either the PS or Xbox designs in shape. Machines which have to accommodate the human body are very limited in their possible designs given the inherently stagnation of the very own human body shape becuse evolution moves at glacial speeds.
@@joystickayrton I mean, I don't want to come as abrasive but the most important thing to consider when designing a device like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Legion Go, MSI Claw, Ayaneo, etc., is how it will fit between the human hands and if you look at your hands you will realize that there are about 2, maybe 3 form factors for any hand held device that can fit without creating health issues to your hands articulations. Yeah, you can tweak a little the form factors but the limitations still will be your hands shape and the range of motion for your hands and finger articulations, which are extremely limited compared to how many shapes and movements machines which are not intended to serve as HID can take.
Can never have too much competition The Zotac Zone is very compelling with dual track pads and thumb stick dials ...I know its a portrait display but its still an OLED and people are crazy about that. I'm also looking forward to the orange pi neo. The thing is, if they are all copies of each other something has to change for them to sell, and that something will be price.
