mine gives me a black screen after 2 or 3mins of gameplay but the game keeps playing...if i connect it through RF then i dont have any issues...any ideas on what's going on?

When soldering smd resistors and caps you should only pre-solder one pad first and then solder one side of the component to the pad. This prevents the 'tombstone' effect of the component lifting up. The solder that you are using also looks very cheap and is clumping like cheap solder. Use a flux core solder for smd components and no additional flux fluid unless using a hot air gun on IC's.
Just got one like this, I got it cleaned up nicely but the power switch just fell off and took a couple pads with it. I'm probably gonna salvage the chip set and some other component and take my losses
You’ve done a decent job here. If you was wondering why the annoying cart slot wouldn’t come off it’s becuase it’s got 2 plastic welds either side of it. To replace it or take it off requires you to melt the black welds either side of it in the board. Hope this helps. I’ve got a gba same model on the way for me to save, hopefully can become a working one that I can mod and be my main gameboy ❤😊
