Boy oh boy how am I burned out of monoliths and HC ladder chasing just to be taken away for nothing :) People seem not to understand too well why cycle is chosen over legacy :) I hate mid season reset its dumb pointless and with no meaningful changes. Game has waaaay too little content to do besides monoliths, which for some reason isnt addressed in any way
Yea I am a bit sad about that, I don't really want to reset for nothing and the legacy stash is basically unplayable for me as it takes 8+ seconds to open or change tabs :(
Hey Frozen, Just want to make sure I understand your crit calculator correctly as I'm playing around with phantom grips and prismatic gaze. Is the Frost claw passive Rending Cascade part of the conditional base crit? So, if I have just 1 phantom grip (2% crit), character sheet spell crit of 60% and 4 points in Rending Cascade (8%), that gives me 107.14% actual crit which would mean I'm crit capped? I haven't got a decently rolled prismatic gaze yet so I'm running a Boneclamour. I'd probably prefer to run the Boneclamour anyway for the Int. I was running 2 phantom grips, but I swapped 1 out for the set ring, and I seem to still be critting 100% even though my sheet crit says 60%. Rending Cascade seems extremely valuable if this is the case. Cheers!
It would count as conditional base crit if you are calculating the crit chance for Frost Claw itself, but not if you are calculating the crit chance for Spark Charges which do NOT inherit the bonus crit from the Frost Claw nodes.
Ok thanks mate. So the only sources of base crit for the spark charges are from gear? Is this also why spark artillery is not mandatory, because it's only applying to frost claw itself? So that lightening conversion is not really required as spark charges are already lightening..
Put it together, and I'm having a LOT of problems on bosses. I do the 5 step program you outline to set them up, spam static orb, and they're still at ~50% health and my mana's empty at around 300 corruption. I run around, trying to find a moment I can stand still for ~5 seconds to refill with Focus, and usually die. Also, noticed in the planner that you have most of your resists at ~50% or lower in order to pull this off. Is that sustainable? I tried it and was getting clapped pretty regularly.
You need to make sure your mana is negative when you start channeling it, it gives the burst and also will regenerate much faster. It shouldn't take 5 seconds You also will want some sort of shred if your damage is low, and at least 1200 or so mana. Make sure you have crit chance / crit multi. etc My resists are not all "at 50% or lower". Lightning, Fire and Phys are capped. Void Resist doesn't matter because of Orian's Eye. Cold Resist is 56% but goes to cap because of the permanently up buff from teleport. Poison Resist doesn't really matter because we instantly cleanse poison stacks with Frost Claw, and have DoT mitigation from Orian's Eye and our gloves anyway. I am missing 13% Res from my Necrotic, which means 13% increased damage from that, not a big deal. Resists in LE don't work like other ARPGs, it's not a big deal to not be capped. Check the game guide if you want to understand the math on that Source; my level 100 hardcore character doesn't even have capped resists
I'm most excited about the Steam Deck improvements, hopefully the performance is better, not just the UI. The builds that so far I've found the most fun to play really tank the performance unfortunately. There were moments when I would have even been fine with 1 fps, but it was more like 1 frame per 5 seconds XD Since I play CoF only, the economy reset doesn't affect me either way. And I'll probably just keep playing the characters I already have, only 2 of which are over level 90 anyway, my old Exploding Trap/Detonating Arrow Marksman and this Cycle's Frost Claw Sorceror.

So much negativity in the comments about restarting.. if you are playing cycle you would have to restart next cycle anyway in a couple of months. If you play legacy, it won't matter. I'm happy they are introducing new content before a whole new cycle. Side note: thanks for all you content Frozen, I've been devouring your Sorc guides and spreadsheets and having a blast on mine! Very grateful for your hard work.
Yea I too am a bit surprised by the negativity, there are definitely valid complaints to be made but nothing is stopping y'all from continuing to play the same character, they won't be nerfing it. The only way this would impact you is if you held leaderboard ranks.
I think it is more because ppl were disappointed about cycle 2 as whole, so this reset is too little too late. I think people wouldn't care this much about it if the game was in a better state, but all and all cycle 2 was not much different than cycle 1
@@rainzhang4229 Maybe, if you didnt even reached endgame. (???) what the hell, people play for half an hour and give a full verdict on the game. Cycle 2 was awesome for me, dont care how many people plays it. Its a quite decent content quantity (AND quality) for a cycle. Nemesis is freaking cool, 2 type of Harbinger bosses with 10 different movesets, the new little storyline, the pinnacle boss which is a quite decent bossfight. Play the game first, or dont make an opinion. My only real complaint with the game right now is the performance hickups.
Waste of time, will just bench this game till the devs actually act like what they are. This game has made over 100m and they have 100 employees releasing this little content, with no class changes, is pointless.
It's time to uninstall LE and install any other game until POE2 arrives, thanks EH for screwing up all my progress and forcing me to start over, something I won't do.
I get the sentiment but barely anyone is playing cycle anymore yet they are mad that it is going to get reset? If someone don't even play what are they angry about? Let tem try something like this once, it's not like you lose anything or there is exclusive content on cycle. It would be better to have a choice but still. Legacy, offline, online make no difference at all. You can play whatever.
I'm not hyped nor am I bummed. I think it is a good thing, but I do have some reservations. Let's see what they do, and I'll be there playing the game. Edit: Further thoughts. Revert the XP nerf. If this is going to be a normal thing, leveling a character is going to become a chore if the average person is getting close to 100 after a month or two only to have a mid cycle refresh.
This is stupid..... every time i find a build and get it perfect they fucking put itnto legacy.... like this game is getting stupid if this is how its going to go There is nothing to refresh i dont see the point in it. Instead of refreshing patch shit that is not working as intended dont just be liek " screw you all go make new characters"
Not interested in leveling up all over again just for this, weird choice by them. Instead of correcting the economy by removing all dupped gold and banning players who abused it, they just wipe everything and screw everyone over in the process. How does that make sense? I'm personally done with this cycle, so whatever. I hope they REALLY focus on improving the their QA process and the game's performance, those are the two main things holding this game back, in my opinion.

If LE doesn't get better at strict deadlines, and providing more content with each cycle it's not gonna survive. The PoE model is great, but they've set the bar really high for shaking things up each league and if more and more ARPGS try to emulate this without the degree of complexity it's going to kill the industry.
it is stupid that cycle refresh is LITERALLY happening ONLY for merchant guild. they're saying that they cannot fix gold dupe so they're soft resetting cycle for sole reason to fix merchant guild's economy. it just screw over COF because you lose all your progress but as compensation, they're running as event so you can get your items back faster. the worst part is the fact you have to level cof or guild back to 12 AGAIN. why....
Dont think it is bc of mg. The gold dupe barely matter. It remove con of doing LA dung cause of how much money there r in market so u can still buy anything u need if u know wut u r doing, i still have like more 1bil left after gearing all my charac and dunno wut to do with it. I think reset prop cause of how lil end game content there r, it get boring lately doing endless mono and one shot abby so im very exciting for fresh start to try out new strat
@@omnilios8440 you can try out new strats in cycle. i am almost 90% certain they're doing this because guild is dead. so most people left game. you can already see population is like 4k on steam. next month, it will be 2k. by the time their cycle begins, there is real case for the game to just die. so they're doing this in attempt revive the game. issue is small patch don't revive game. only big patch do and unfortunately, very little change from cycle 1 ->2. a lot of it was negative that overall decrease enjoyment of the game because less builds became viable. the less stuff clears content, the less player will be invested in playing cycle especially if what they were playing is strictly worse then last season.
@AndreyThePal normally I'd agree, but I think with this not being a full new cycle a lot of people who are still playing might just continue onto legacy until 1.2 drops
i'm having a problem. My FC mana cost is 44, i'm trying to make it to 40-41, so i add a point to Gift of winter which -2 mana cost. But then FC turns to 39.6 mana cost. I checked all my gears and passive, there no mana efficiency or something like that.
Use the mana cost calculator I provided, you have a -4 wand, you can use a FC Mana Cost Efficiency + Increased Mana / Armor idol with up to 10% mana cost efficiency.
Can't thank you enough. My enjoyment of the game has greatly increased with your helpful videos and comments on Discord. I switched from your more basic frostclaw build to a variation of this build and it is fantastic. Having that big single target burst is huge, and the teleport every 5 seconds boosts damage like crazy.

I was reviewing your gear and skills to try and tune my character up some and I saw you don't have any points in Gift of Winter. Does your 3LP wand has a -4 mana cost?
hey, just noticed that you're not specd into lightning FC, any reason for it? Also do you have tips to improve fps? fc sorc tanks my fps too much compared to other builds

Because mana strike must be used in melee range which is potentially dangerous in HC and focus can be charged up during loading screen / echo selection screen, or when negative for huge burst.
Congratulations 🎉👏🏻 After leveling manay characters to 100 in cycle 1 and 2 And even experimenting in offline with mods I don't know why i'm still playing this, it's very repetitive and slamming is still annoying and time consuming I guess it's time to move on to other games
