Writing comments is a good practice. I used to be forever reader too and when I started taking English learning seriously I began doing things that are hardest for me - speaking, writing and grammar. Now, even if I know that I make a lot of mistakes, I scribble some comment from time to time because I know there is no other way to aquire language like practice, practice, practice. If I don't have much time to write, I translate. I ask GPT to create some text for me on a specific (or unspecific) topic in my NL, then I translate it to English (there is no autocorrect in chat input window, so I'm on my own). GPT check and correct my ramblings in no time, and I can ask: why you correct it that way, is it be correct if I wrote it such and such etc.? Maybe it's not a best method ever but its efficient in limited amount of time.
Thanks for sharing. I love your translation exercise with AI. I suppose you just have to be aware of the 'why are you correcting me' element. Is it incorrect or is it just an alternative, becuase there is often more than one way to translate the same idea.
RU-vid Music will completely replace Google Podcasts from June 23, 2024. RU-vid Music is much more convenient than RU-vid as the screen-off mode is available and listeners can multi-task (opt to do other things) either on the phone or not. It has two modes: audio and video. Could you please make your channel available on RU-vid Music as well? Thanks 💖.
What up i hope you're feeling amazing thank you so much for your useful videos all of your videos are really worth to watch by the way you're an awesome teacher 😅😅😅😅😅😅
An excellent video about pronunciation in English. I teach English in Madrid, so these type of tips are exactly what I give my students to help them improve on their pronunciation. It also helps their listening skills, because they are better able to distinguish these aspects in the language. Your example sounds of the schwa are great. I usually ask my students to think about the first sound that comes out of their mouth when they wake up in the morning after a hard night out...eh, ugh, uff - no matter what the language is, the morning grunt is normally fronted by the schwa sound...😂😂
Thank you for this amazing video! I love your approach and your humour. In my native Italian, I can find 3 idioms, 1 identical and 2 similar: 1 don't shoot the messenger - ambasciator non porta pena (ambassador is not responsible) 2 I smell a rat - sento odor di bruciato (I smell something burning) 3 Play it by ear - suonala a orecchio (play it by ear :-) )
Exactly. I am Brazilian, I teach English and I go mad when they say don't say "How are you" just because Americans prefer using what's up or are you okay? So what? We don't learn American English or British English, but International English.
I found it very useful i think I'm gonna share this video because if we want to speak English then grammar and other things matters.Without having a proper knowledge of grammar we shall not be able to speak good English.❤
Sorry, mate. Pointless .... There are lots of different layers to the language ... Including Geographical . One man's meat is another man's... U know... Love your Borat-ish style
@@Hikari55588 You raise a really interesting point. The beauty of RU-vid for creators is the low barrier to entry; anyone can teach whatever they like with the potential for great reward. For learners, this provides an endless supply of free resources, but the quality is not guaranteed. It's up to viewers to decide with views, subs, likes and, in theory, the quality should rise to the top. In terms of traditional qualifications, in my experience there are plenty of highly qualified fools in all fields, education is no exception🙂.
Pedagogy and androgogy are different sciences. I am sure that most of the viewers understand English. I have added three languages to my native and one of them stooped learning at my 16. After that I don't consider watching movies or reading books in that language as learning, but as using. Problems for adults are more psychological, they are afraid to use their second language in this country.
Thank you Mr. D . A much needed reprimand to those fascistic RU-vid English teachers for whom it's either their way or the highway. They fail to recognize that many English words have more than one acceptable pronunciation and that people who pronounce words such as 'uncomfortable' and 'formidable' differently than they do are not necessarily wrong in their pronunciations. Banning the simplest and most often used words in the English language is not the best way to teach an E S. L. student to develop his or her language skills.
I completely agree. There is a load of clickbait rubbish on youtube. Even if the aim to expand on vocabulary is worthwile in order to get you to use more than just the basic standard vocabulary, teaching based on don'ts isn't the best approach. It provides the whole learning process with authoritarian and highly unflexible features when individual freedom of choice and a more easy-going approach may be more sensible.
