My goal is to live my life as simple as I can and be self sufficient. I grow my own vegetables and have a few chickens with more animals to come in the near future. The things you'll find on this channel are some cooking, gardening, vermicomposting and some good ol' southern talk!! I'd love to have you join me on this journey and become part of my family in the sticks!!!
Thank ya for watching and commenting, welcome to the channel!! The 5 gallon bucket I used had one hole drilled in it to attach a hose, that length of hose had 3 drippers attached to it. Hope this answers your question, have a great week!! Dan

Thank ya for watching and commenting mam, welcome to the channel!! Are you blanching your peas prior to pressure canning them? The time the jars sit in the pressure canner (PC) can cause mushy peas, I've also heard that canning peas in a jar bigger than a quart size jar could cause mushy peas. This is all subjective as I always PC my peas the day of harvest, I will say my peas come out soft when I eventually eat them but not mushy. Maybe someone else will chime in on this one..........Dan
“I want to support it to where the cantaloupe can roll off this vine naturally and not by weight just snapping the vine” Ok but isn’t the weight snapping the vine literally the most natural way for the fruit to detach? Like the only natural ways would be exactly that or some kind of predator ripping it off the vine
Yes, when a fully grown cantaloupe is ready it will snap off the vine naturally, BUT I've had several large melons that were green and snapped the vine prior to maturing on the vine, that's what I'm trying to prevent. Thank ya for commenting!! Dan
Thank ya for watching and commenting mam, welcome to the channel!! I don't think this washer would have a problem washing a queen sized sheet, but that's all I would was at one time!! Have a great week!! Dan
Working on building a pen for my daughters 10 goats . It's 40' x 64 ' . Only thing different I did was to put the panels on the inside of the wood posts so that if they are jumping or standing on the fence , it's pushing into the post instead of the staples .
Thank ya for watching and commenting sir, welcome to the channel!! Great tip ya brought up, I actually did the same off camera, sometimes I don't think about the obvious lol!! I preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a great week!! Dan

Fishnet stocking might last longer and allow added sunlight through to the fruit... They do make a material like fishnets, even bigger holes.. make mini hammocks, you can use 1 hook or 2.
Idea.. if you pass by a dumpster after a store closes, and remodeling... you can find extender arms you can put on the medal grid walls you have, like peg arms, hooks or even tiny shelves... going to landfill... use them yourself. Usually the big rolloff style but may not be... Watch for those store closures for fixtures. Or, if you know someone that often checks dumpsters... ask them to watch for items .... you'd be surprised. I actually thought of that later and couldn't find your short .. im glad you ♥️ me.
Thank ya for watching and commenting mam, welcome to the channel!! The pallets are fastened to each other with outdoor wood screws, the t-post is used to hold the pallets upright!! Hope this answers your question, have a great week!! Dan
Thank ya for watching and commenting, welcome to the channel!! I'll be looking into those Grobuckets for next season, yes the VegoGarden planters are pricey but they grow some fine plants!! Have a great week!! Dan
So glad I found your channel. I have been needing to get a small portable washing machine. My biggest need is to be able to wash my sheets. At 75 I simply can't ring them out by hand. From your comments I believe this machine would handle one full bed sheet at a time with no issues. Thank youn for doing your followup review.
Thank ya for watching and commenting, welcome to the channel and I'm glad the video helped ya make a decision on getting a portable washing machine!! Four years later my washing machine is still working great!! I preciate ya stopping by the channel, come back and visit and have a great weekend!! Dan
Thank ya for watching and commenting Pineywoods_Hermit, welcome to the channel!! God question, I was my equipment down with fresh water after after each use, especially that Covington planter!! Have a great weekend and thank ya for stopping by the channel!! Dan

I preciate ya stopping by the channel and I'm glad you enjoyed the video, have a great week!! Dan
Have you been able to get it to record more than 6 seconds? I've put in an 128gig SD card, let it format it, chose "20 seconds" for the recording time but still every video is only 6 seconds. Just wondering if you got that to work. Otherwise it's a great camera for how inexpensive it is
Than ya for watching and commenting sir, welcome to the channel!! Yes sir, my camera will record in 20 second increments, I personally chose to look at still pictures but I'll record something of interest that may show up!! Dan
@@HomeInTheSticks Thanks for the reply! Did you have to do anything special to get it to record over 6 seconds w/ the card? I feel like it's pretty straightforward but it just won't record more than 6. Thanks again
Thank ya for watching and commenting sir, welcome to the channel!! The first rain gutter planter I made mice were getting into the planter, never had any problems with birds tho. I'd look into some bird netting, maybe that'll help ya out, it's light and birds don' like it!! I hope this may help ya out some, thank ya for stopping by the channel, come back and visit!! Have a great weekend!! Dan
Can I ask which torch hose/s you went with? And are the holes drilliednintontuenSharpienhilder you got both the same size or is one larger than the other? Asking because that’s why it looked like in your video. Mine were both the same diameter so I’m going to have to drill one larger. FWIW, I went with version 3.1 because I don’t, nor do I ever plan to, reload for, and thus, anneal .416 Cheytac and or .50BMG. As to Stefan, he’s a great guy and he has a great company with great annealing machines that backs up what they make and sell with excellent customer service.
Thank ya for watching and commenting sir, welcome to the channel!! I went with Benzomatic pencil torches and I purchased the braided hose off of Amazon if I remember correctly. The holes on my machine are two different sizes, maybe down the road I'll go to a two torch setup but I went with the 3.2 version for that purpose. I do anneal some 50 BMG for a friend so the annealer worked out good for me lo. As far as Stefan, I agree with everything ya said about him and his company!! I preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a great weekend!! Dan
Thank ya for watching and commenting mam, welcome to the channel!! Yes mam, the instructions can make one shake their head for sure lol but I'm glad the video may have helped ya out some!! I preciate ya stopping by the channel, come back and visit!! Have a great weekend!! Dan
Hey from the gulf coast of Alabama! 👋🏻 I grew up shellin peas with my grandmom and remember having our talks while doing it. Back porch steps, cold sweet tea and the occasional small breeze. Birmingham was nice back then. Anyway, fast forward 4 decades, and I just picked me some pinkeyes from my neighbor's (I haven't done that since I was a child - Whew! My back!) and got em home then promptly forgot how to shell em! 🫣😂 Found your video and it came flooding back to me! Thank you for this. 🥰 Oh and I saute some onion before adding it to the peas and bacon. 🤤 Yummy!
Thank ya for watching and commenting mam, welcome to the channel!! Yes mam, I spent many an afternoon shelling peas with my grandmother as well but in my age now I plant top pick peas lol, saves on my back a lot!! I preciate ya stopping by the channel, coma back and visit and have a great weekend!! Dan
