I‘m new to the channel so I haven’t gotten shit sorted out yet. Started with me thinking ”Well he‘s considerably older but I kinda figure out why women might be attracted to him….!“ AND HOW CAN ONE SIT IN A CAMPER WHEN YOU GOT A FIRE RIGHT OUTSIDE???
Not a plane builder. But was an industrial machinest. I would make that out of a billet of 4140 and have it normalized after. Male the flange a little fatter also. If it failed once it will fail again. The weld likely wasn't bad being aircraft parts. Just not a strong enough design.
I’m a bit perplexed how he could hang this totally different propellor on his plane and then legally fly in competition without doing x numbers of hours test flying over a un populated area.
These highly modified aircraft are really cool, but Id also like to see a Bush class with modified working machines, to see whats in the realm of possibilities with aircraft that can still be used in a 135 operation
The ground wind speed is faster than the stall of the plane. Would like to see what it is in still wind conditions. It would still be incredible and fun to see.
So has anybody bought one of Steve's outlanders? I always see him advertise it and wonder if anyone has said "I would like a Yee-Haw 8 please." or just a STOL plane like his.
Usually mechanical water pumps don't fail they are so simple in general with most engines. Yamaha must have had a bad design. Rest of the engine is very well built.
How does selling kit planes work? Like can any Joe Blow make a kit plane and sell it with the 49-51 completion rule? or do kit planes need to certified?
Because Steve's prop is at an angle pointing up when he launches does that give him an advantage in STOL? Not sure what the technical name is for the angle of the prop when the plane is on land.
Very nice piloting. Absolutely LOVE the Yamaha engine in your bird. Im working on a zenith 750 STOL and i would love to use a yamaha engine in it. Don’t know if anyone has done it yet. But it would be awesome!
Steve, it takes a special kind of pilot to do what you're doing, but you've been doing it for so many years now. You really got it down. You are still number one!
