At 1:07, there is an option that says 'Restrict to' Kb/s under the Quality heading. And you're recommending inputting 45000. Is that the video bitrate? Odd that the software doesn't mention 'bitrate' in the text.
Great and easy tutorial. Fairly new to Resolve, I'm wondering how to, if at all possible to save this as a custom preset rather than doing this every time I need to use the transition?
Proxies make _smaller_ files?! Sounds like they should but in reality its the direct opposite. Then Blackmagic forum Tech-Shame you for expecting proxy file sizes to be smaller. What Blackmagic needs to get thru _their_ heads is that users _understandably_ expect proxies not to be such damn space hogs just to ensure smooth playback. Maybe this video topic needs an update...
Thanks so much for the Ghost Effect Tutorial ... I used it in a Friends and Family video from the Milkshake Festival Amsterdam this summer ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zadGpjSkAcE.htmlsi=2efywtRxuujf8W0Y (I still have a few clips with smoothing problems because of frame rate differences)
Hmm, yes I watched everything collapse during covid, I am a designer and most of my high paying clients were all event organisers, trade events that type of thing so they all went to the wall here in the UK, like you I lost 99% of my clients in the space of two weeks, it was devastating. The one massive downside of computers is you have to ware so many hats that used to be worn by so many individuals.
How well does it handle motion blur? The original footage looks like it was shot with a high shutter speed to reduce blur, but then your footage looks like a scene from 28 Days Later!
Adding a cut with the razor tool from the keyboard is great and very usefull.... But why bother adding cuts to just remove part of a sequence ?? Why not just mark in and out the bit you want to remove and map the Ripple Cut to your keyboard ?! No need to cut it first.
Subscribed originally for Da Vinci material but your last video hit me hard and as someone who inspires to start a channel I’m definitely sticking around for the ride. I need all the guidance I can get. Thank you for your candor and transparency. 👊🏽
Billy, I’m getting started with a channel this Fall and I’m not only studying your content (excellent) but also your design! It’s awesome! Seamless! Reinforcing your message without detracting from it. It’s beautifully done.
