I live a solitary life now and only go out to practice martial arts (defensive, and I still stay out of fights). I used to ride motorcycles, but living costs have gone up substantially, I rather save and invest the money. There's so many thugs and questionable, suspicious looking people out there, it seems a massive risk to go out for a little gain. If I'd go out, probably it would be during daytime hours to explore or do planned activity. Night out seems asking for trouble and is quite expensive anyway. I rather stay home and enjoy my hobbies.
Working as a bouncer has completely put me off going on nights out because of how often stuff like this happens. A lot of so called hard men would always try it on with me because I was a lot younger than everyone else, but luckily it never worked out for them. I'd always recommend people just stay out of nightclubs and bars, just do other social things with your friends and family that distance yourselves and your loved ones from this pathetic people. If anyone is reading this then stay safe out there and always be aware of your surroundings.

I was born in Leeds and still have family there, though I moved away 16 years ago. I used to go out every weekend Friday to Sunday, all the pre-clubs, clubs, and after-clubs that was the routine. Never had one bit of trouble. What a shame Leeds has become like this

A lot can be done with eyes despite his terrible circumstances. Iris implantats, plastic lens and coneal transplants have come a long way. Him being able to see light in his left eye is optimistic. Hopefully his eye will heal, the surgery succeed and he gets his sight back. As for the attacker, they should do life in prison.
So sad to hear this story, it is good to know what is at stake, I just wish violence like this didn't have to be part of life it is so unnecessary. I couldn't watch much more of the video it was so sad, I really hope this guy regains more of his vision and is able to navigate this nightmare.

I have an 8mth old Kelpie that came into my life when he was 6mths. He was raised on a kibble and meat diet and was slightly underweight when he first came to live with me. I followed vets advice and fed him kibble, but also added a wide range of other foods. He thrived straight away, but I noticed the first thing he wanted to do in the mornings was eat a fair amount of grass. Some of his stools were also very liquid. I've now got him on an almost entirely fresh diet that's mostly raw, but contains some cooked ingredients too. I am still feeding kibble, but only 1/3 the amount. When this bag is finished in a few days I'll remove kibble entirely.

I totally agree with Matt about glass in pubs and bars. This has been a problem for far too long. Around 15 years ago when I lived in the UK a young lad was murdered in a local bar for talking to a girl. The thug broke off a champagne flute and stabbed him through the neck with the stem.
