Travel, Road Trips, Hiking and plain ole` Adventure!! I decided to make a channel based on these things because its what I do.... and a lot ( and I do mean a lot) of people ask me about the places I go and see. I know a lot of people just don't have the means or health to go and do some of these things as well so I hope this gives a little happiness of virtual travel. but whatever your niche is for sightseeing I hope I bring some of what you want to the table!!
Best treatment for poison ivy - scrub affected skin with Dawn dish detergent. Apple cider vinegar compresses on affected poison ivy rashes. Keep applying. It stinks, but it works. I get poison ivy rashes just looking at poison ivy. Good luck! Enjoyed the video.! Thanks Jim.
I did some looking online and it looks like the original tower design was first altered back in 1941. Link: wvculture.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/market-street-bridge.pdf
Great video Jim! I was holding my breath a lot while you were climbing those stairs. Hope the poison ivy isn’t too bad. Thanks for taking us to places we aren’t able to go. So happy to hear you are doing ok. 👍
Love hearing the history of the local locations you take us to! Have been by those buildings countless times and never gave them any thought. Happy to see you feeling great Jim!
Thanks Jim! Enjoyed your visit to the East side. We see the church when we go to Golden Dawn for dinner. Just too bad it isn’t made into a historical site. It is so beautiful. We watched bar rescue today and seen the work that was done to the bar. Does it still look the same as it did after the show? You said it is still open and still owned by the Kennedy brothers?
Roger's was a great place to go visit when in that part of ( Ohio ) And there wasn't anything you couldn't find there,,, And the booming is not what it use to be there sad to say but its true,,, Its going to take a long time for it to come back at Roger's,,, Last time i was there large fry $9 And was my last time there couple yrs back,,, Really I dont see Rogers coming back anytime soon to fill all those empty spots,,, At one time it was the place to go on the Map Happy Hunting...
@@skyeagle3123 hey thanks for watching and commenting!! I totally get what you’re saying. I miss the Friday nights hanging out till midnight!!! I’ll have to go check it out when it’s in actual season! Thanks again.
Not too long ago there was a convent up against the church, and even back when I was in university, the school was in session and had a lot of kids enrolled. The East Side was never too nice when I was alive, but it still had some life in it.
what a beautiful view the golden grass, green trees and the red brick church with those storm clouds. I dont blame you for not crawling through those shrubs etc. tics are bad here in Ohio. be careful
@@joysmetaphysicalnaturechannel thanks for watching and commenting!! Yes!! Clouds always seem to bring out something special in your surroundings!! Indeed , tics are terrible!! Thanks again!
@@everydayadventureswithjim a co-worker/friend and her families homes and a garage look like all that was on that street. Pretty sure that was in your vlog in the beginning. Supposedly, they promised her a job there. Her family lived there forever.
sup jimmy! lived on the line ..right there in cornersburg. Yes... Cornersburg pizza!! glad to see ya out.... tattoo looks like its healing nicely. peace out brother!
Awesome tour Man.. You have an excellent speaking voice and presentation. These older rust belt towns have amazing architecture and the urban planning was much more pragmatic. Also, places like Cleveland, Detroit, Youngstown ect had some of the highest household income levels in the in the first half of the 20th century. Hence some of the beautiful homes and commerce districts. How times have changed unfortunately..
Wow! Thanks for the vibes!!! I appreciate it!! I totally agree with what you just said, and yes unfortunately times change and we can at least hold on to some of the past through the architecture that still exists and through stories of the old timers! Thanks again!!
3 generations of my in-law family worked here, in the factory and office. They made rubber HOSE, not tires. Akron Ohio is famous for making tires. What happened to this company is tragic and sad to watch.
Thanks for watching and commenting!! Yes they absolutely did make hose. I was just talking with a friend of how when we were all younger that we all thought we would be working at these Youngstown factories…………. Yes…. Sad! But I guess with that comes change that we can’t stop.. stay blessed and thank you!
St. Pat’s, baptized there, great memories of that church, we lived on Essex. I remember a big paint store on Essex, and I think a glass store. Now, the late Sister Jerome’s school’s address is where my grandfather’s house was. My aunt and uncles went to St. Pat’s.
I lived on Southern Blvd between Maywood Dr and Lowell from 1975 to 1980 and a few years ago, I met a couple in Dallas where I live now at a concert at a local venue. After finding out they were from Ohio, I told them where I lived in the 70s and they said " Oh you lived near the KC hall and the public sidewalk"! This is what we called a path between a house and the KC Hall that led from Southern Blvd to Halena Ave. I thought me and my friends gave it the name of "the public sidewalk" back in 76 but here is a couple in the 2000's. I hope that you can maybe dig up some history on that KC hall building and the surrounding area. Anyway Thank you for your videos and taking me back to what I think is the best place I ever lived :) Thanks Jim
