Kinda cool to see Northern Snakehead in their native environment. My biggest is 12.4 pounds in Maryland, USA. I struggle a lot with them eating the native species in smaller bodies of water here but its funny to see that our bass are invasive over there and their snakehead are invasive here. I live pretty close to where the world record 21 pounder was caught at Blackwater National wildlife refuge.
Thanks, man! Yeah, they aren't native there. They were stocked years ago in 3 lakes, but due to the irragation systems they spread all throughout the country.
I don't really know man. I didn't get to explore much, but what was close to me. It does seem like no matter where you are in the west side of the peninsula, you will be able to find some though. Irrigation canals can be good. Just gotta find spots on Google maps and check them out.
It was actually random! I passed it riding my bike a few days prior and noticed plenty of little bass in it, so I decided to give it a shot. Thanks for the comment!
@@jonesfishing wow nice job. i think i figured out the exact spot, but its like an hour and a half from where im at in korea. if im ever close to gunsan, ill check it out.
@@thebandseabright I definitely recommend it! It is hit or miss though. Depends on what irrigation gates are open. So, I wouldn't plan a trip solely on that canal. Make sure you have back up plans.
I only caught 2 while I was there. But, saw many! I would suggest getting weedless frogs and 30lb test braided line or higher on a bait cast rod and reel. Then I would look for ponds that have lily pads and grass in them. But, even the irrigation canals have snakehead in them. They can honestly be anywhere. Also, soft plastic worms work well when rigged weedless
What trash !!!! looks clean !!! very clean !!! you have a tipical low life underdeveloped brain , lying disrespectful bias two faced prejudice hypocrite dirty filthy (literally) mouth !!!!!!!! repent and be saved !!!! it's never too late kid !!!
Yeah, nah. Korea has a huge trash issue. I'm assuming you live there. Maybe you haven't been to plenty of places like I have. But, korea is definitely one of the worst I have been to when it comes to pollution and litter. Maybe you are the one who is underdeveloped and isn't cultured enough to know any difference. My comment wasn't a bias, merely an observation.
Thank you, I appreciate it! It's definitely a cool experience. As far as tips for traveling, I would say get familiar with the Shinkansen/train system as it's the easiest way to get around Japan. They also have like 7 day and 2 week passes specifically for foreigners to use with the Shinkansen. It saves a lot of money. Other than that just familiarize yourself with customs and courtesies and if you're not sure just do what people around you are doing. Thanks for watching.
