Thanks for the review, they seem quite easy to install. I am curious If they loose shape If they are stored folded, in the same way they came when you unboxed them. I saw an interesting product on their website, can t post the link unfortunately but the title is - Through Tail Dynamic Lamp Rear Bumper Red Safety Lights for Model 3/Y. Any plans for reviewing this on the channel? They seem like a cool addon
They are easy to install indeed. Don t forget to use the discount code when ordering them. As for the dynamic tail lights, I also saw them on the website and I am interested in them. I like this sort of video very much. Skiing, nice pictures of Avoriaz and infos of Tesla experiences, thanks for your work. In the video it looked like, that the first Tesla supercharger was very full. Couldn't the slow charging performance be due to the fact, that the maximum charging current output of this whole supercharger was reached and the charging performance was therefore throttled?
Thanks a lot for the comment. I am looking forward to creating new vids like these one. As for the superchargerI thought about this possibility too but the first SuC is Karlsruhe was a V3 supercharger ( having one longer cable than the V2s) which means that every stall starting with the same number: e.g 1A , 1B, 1C, 1D can deliver a max power of 250KW, and together the whole power cabinet has an output of 1MW, so this shouldn’t be the case.
from the hotel you knew that the road was downhill, why did you charge the battery to 100%, maybe it was better to charge it to 95% and do a little regen. ;)
Good question. I actually wanted to do so, but I put the car to charge 12 hours before that at the minimum Amps level and it still reached 100% :) Good eye for details
If you refer to the phone mount, i got it from aliexpress - i even made a detailed video for it and i included the link there Best Tesla Model 3/Y Phone Mount with MagSafe charging ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ol3coXV4mxY.html
20 stalls available for non Tesla at Neumuenster SC , I say that stall was out of action that the Merc tried first. Which the app would have told him anyway.
Yeah, I didn’t know exactly the way of working for non tesla vehicles, but he waa a bit worries that he can’t charge. He told me that in the app only 4 stations were available for him, maybe it got changed meanwhile. Thanks for sharing !

Good question. Unfortunately i did not test it on the new model 3, but from what I can see the product is marketed for the new model as well. Maybe someone that installed it on the new one can share the experience here in the comments.
All of these are super disappointing because you need to Bluetooth to both the display for car play and still use the main screen for navigation to charging. It’s just redundant and useless - it would be better if these dash screens just mirrored the built in NAV from the car itself so you can navigate to charging. Oh well.
Indeed, for charging you have to use them separately but taking into account the range of the car, i rarely use both in parallel. For long drives, I simply start the Tesla nav when I my battery is with low SoC to scan for a SuC and that’s it. I am patiently waiting for the newest Tesla sw update to see if highlighting the cameras and the average speed checks is working as intended :)
I fitted this on my 2024 Model Y back in March, I can connect the device to my phone to update, it goes through the motion of updating but nothing changes. also for some reason the clock on the device is 12 hrs behind the real-time (showing AM instead of PM) so waze maps are dark in daytime and white at night .... I am sure I am missing something here... no matter what I set the UTC time on the device the time on the device is wrong. both my phone and car time are correct... it's nice but clunky. hate that I can't change the car color, also not a deal breaker but the LED white is a different hue to the Tesla screen white.. Support for this product is nonexistent, the device doesn't even have a model number, even a brand name for you to look up any information, apart from the YLYARD site... If could do it again I would go with a name brand that I know will provide support...
Thanks for sharing ! From what you describe, the unit you received has some reliability issues as mine doesn’t have these symptoms ( except the update part that is mentioned in the video ). Did you try to contact the support team? I can get in touch with them for you and highlight them this comment, maybe they can help 👌
If you ever need to remove it, make sure you heat it up but 2 things with that: I didn’t heat the middle area enough as it was awkward and it messed up the dashboard slightly and also heating it up the actual screen actually got detached and I had to super glue it back to sell it. So be aware with the double sided tape.
Can someone tell me a practical use for this over the existing screen, or tell me if there is single useful need for Apple car play or android? To me this is such a gimmick change my mind please, anyone says so they can see the speedometer is a dumb dumb
For me Car Play is a must for speed cams/ traffic events and the rerouting is better with Waze than the normal Tesla UI. I am talking about western- central Europe. And yes, I’ve personally meet people that like to have a dashboard in front of their eyes( behind the steering wheel ) as they come from a “classic” car .
Good question, i missed this in my tests. I usually put the AC on the upper and lower part, not through the front vents. I’ll try it out tomorrow and let you know.
Who designed the software smh? They should've had a UI designer on this, looks like a bunch of coders just did it themselves. The icons/sizing is so irritating. could be so much better with a software update
It’s a matter of taste. Honestly I like it a lot, and it s very similar with the Tesla main screen UI. As I said, the video doesn’t do justice for the screen quality of the dashboard. Are you talking about the general UI or the CarPlay UI?
@@life-with-beck I get you but im talking about the general UI design, like the icons are not centered properly, there's no proper spacing or padding in icons, the car play logo or the volume indicator or the sliders for example. The elements in the carplay icon are not centered, in the volume slider the text is spaced properly (padding above and below) but the bar is sticking to the bottom with no spacing. Just general stuff like this shows its not been designed properly. Doesn't take anything away from the functionality or the looks of the product but little things like this is what makes the product look complete and professional. Again, this can all be fixed with a software update, i would recommend them to get a designer to create a design system and redesign all the graphic elements according to it and it would be great imo. Just needs a little design consistency throughout
Looks like a good display but I can’t buy because of the white cable being visible, makes it look like a cheap hack. There must have been a better option!
It is a good display indeed, I like it a lot. Honestly you don’t see the cable while driving, because it is masked by the steering wheel - so I got used to it. A good workaround is to paint it in black/ dark color.

Just installed Sexy Knob and like it. Liked your review! I have a question. Now that FSD is usable, I figure to be using it quite often with FSD showing full screen. #1) When you put in a destination on FSD, is that info automatically used by Android Auto or must I put that info into Android Auto myself? #2) How seamless is using Android Auto with FSD full screen?
Thanks a lot Rick! I am happy that you liked it. 1. Unfortunately not, the navigations are not interconnected, it works like a normal Car Play/ Android Auto device, which is connected to your phone. 2 As far as I am aware, the functionality of the instrument cluster display is not affected by AA, as they are 2 separate devices. I use them in parallel , the instrument cluster is usually for detecting the traffic events. You might want to adjust your notification settings for the traffic apps as you will hear directions from both instrument cluster and the Tesla tablet. I usually only enable the alert warnings for AA/ CarPlay, the directions are off to avoid the confusion.
@@life-with-beck Thx for the clarification. Looks like a no-buy for me. I really like that full screen display of FSD and have always been a fan of Tesla's navigation software. I was shocked at how easy Sexy Knob was to install and get running........literally in minutes. Apparently, I can mount a phone and get basic info readout with the Sexy Knob app. I may try that and see if it's helpful. To tell you the truth, I think the whole driver screen thing is way overblown and now with full screen FSD available, I don't believe I would be satisfied looking at FSD on a small driver's screen. Big surprise to me this month......I actually enjoy getting driven around by software.
It’s a matter of preference, I like to see something behind the wheel and also the interface of the display is very much alike the Tesla interface- fonts/ car/ lane display etc ( without the car play ), so for me it s really useful. Also car play connects immediately and I have the navigation running in no time :). I did not receive yet the sw upgrade, looking fwd to that and I will also make a video about it when I will receive it. Where r u from? I am curious about the algorithm of rolling over the sw upgrade and which cars are the first one to get it .
@@life-with-beck I'm in Mountain View in California. This is Tesla country out here and Tesla started right next door in Palo Alto. I have a 2021 M3 LR delivered at the beginning of January. My upgrades seem to be about 10 days or so after release.
Yes it is, as mentioned in the installation part of the video you need to enable hotspot for this to work. Not a problem in my opinion, as you can always charge the phone when you are in the car.
I don't know if its one of the functions, but if I had these buttons I would setup one to use as a chicken switch for the autopilot instead of shaking the wheel. Click and it moves the dial up and down or whatever is required for the autopilot to continue.
thanks guys, and good job as always with the upgrades - please check ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BwHkQ86TZWo.html ( min 17:35 ) from my video for an improvement suggestion for the integrated dashboard.

If you refer to the voice commands sent via Tesla, they are independent of google/ Siri . Also you don’t need premium connectivity to use voice commands as far as I’m aware.
