When there are multiple Teslas driving along the same route that need to charge. The Tesla navigation will direct the other Tesla-vehicles over various Superchargers along the route, to prevent traffic jams/extra waiting time at the supercharger. That's why I think Tesla doesn't always choose the 'best' location and prioritizes available superchargers over price/route.

That’s an interesting theory and it could explain the rerouting. Next time I will also pay attention to the occupancy level, to see if indeed redirects me to a less busier one. Thanks for mentioning it, I’m really curious now to test this out :)

It does. I can confirm the Tesla nav takes that into account. It will also try to route slower charging cars like older Model S/X and Model 3/Y with LFP battery (170 kW max) to V2 chargers to keep V3 chargers open for cars with 250 kW max charging speed.

Nice video. Here‘s an Information for everybody regarding Hemsbach: the 2 cars didn’t split because that were V3 SuC. Well, technically they split in 4 but that is no problem. 2 cars can easily get 2x250 kW max. V3=1 thin cable. V2=2 cables.

Thanks for the info, very useful. I’ve googled it indeed, looks like 4 V3s posts are actually sharing a 1000kw cabinet, so plenty of power for all the stalls. You just need ro be lucky to reach a V3 suc :)

@@life-with-beck 💯. With a little bit of experience you’ll be able to optimize your travel. In summer my wife and me drove from Heidelberg to Norway. We stopped at V3 and than we looked at the navigation where the next optimal V3 was. v2 again is optimal for lunch time 😉

I have TM3H LR AWD since 15.12.2023 and im very happy with it, plenty of torque power, CHILL mode is very good for winter driving, heats up the cabin very fast from -20 to +20 about 5-7min ONLY. How much did it cost for charging, Your total roundtrip eur/km? Groetjes van Finland🙋‍♂️😃

Hello and congrats for your car, I bet you’re enjoying it every single day. Thanks for the question, I don’t know how I missed to add this in my video. Total round trip: 2292 KM Total cost: 148 EURs Breakdown: - Cost @ superchargers: 123 EURs - Public charging in the Hague before leaving : 10 EURs - Charging to 100% overnight in Cervinia, Italy - 15 EURs ( included in the price of the underground parking ) - Charging to 100% overnight in Heidelberg, Germany - free Cost per 100 KMs - 6.45 EURs Quite decent I must say, especially in these winter conditions and driving in Germany :)

It is possible to do it in a day within reasonable hours, I think it took same time as when we did this with our previous normal bezin car. Good to know, we did not use our electric car yet to go into the mountains.

Next time we will go electric, in a relaxed way taking probably two days to go to Austria (not this year). I’m driving a BMW I4 now, it’s a great car!

Thanks ! I actually forgot to add the picture, thx for reminding me. Basically from what I saw, the price is not sliced between on and off peak, the price you start your session with is the one you end it with.I will try one more time in the future and I will probably make a separate video for it.

I think I mentioned it in the video conclusions as well: I got all season from Michelin - Cross Climate 2 . Very happy with the grip in winter and also during warm summer days.
