Great message Father Meeks You have a wonderful way of delivering Gods word of truth Help me Lord to take this seriously and act on it by the power of the Holy Spirit
A powerful and eloquent articulation of the challenge we all face, every day. Will we follow our own will, our own desires? Or will we submit to a power far greater and wiser than we are? From my perspective, the parallels between Christ's teaching, and that passed on to us by Lao Tzu, are uncanny. The Way of which they both speak, is the same. What we are called to do, is the same. Great spiritual truths, unpolluted by human manipulations, are remarkably similar. There are many branches, but a common root system. Truth is truth. We are not the masters of the universe. To act as if we were, is to live in hell, in that waste dump of bad ideas, bad actions, and bad ideologies.
I think the lack of preaching about hell is part of what caused many to leave the church over the last 50 years. Everything's fine, nothing is a sin..that helped no one.
Missing years of JC "This is a calling, from the highest order, of all orders: The Catholic Church has, or shall find, old scrolls, manuscripts, other books of the Bible, that need to be told. These are so-called missing years of JC. It's because of these so-called missing years, or truths of one that man, and woman, are so confused, and in so much pain today. And when they be found, they shall simply be known as, P_ _ f _ _ _ _ Revolutions, for they simply be found, you see. For when you see, then you believe, is that not another name for Amen, is it not." God's plan is in effect.
If you believe in the True Presence, please consider becoming Catholic, of coming home. Then, if you are in a state of grace you can receive Him. If one is a Catholic, but not in a state of grace, then one is supposed to refrain from receiving until making a sacramental Confession. In other words, we can't just receive whenever we want.
Many thanks Fr. Meeks. I listened to your sermon in a beautifully peaceful place in Ireland and it gave me a great sense of the beauty of our faith. I will be attending mass this evening and I will give thanks for the Sacrament of the Eucharist and for your sermon on the Bread of Life.
Very well said Fr. Ed. Have many protestant/evangelical friends who claimed they take the scripture literally and not symbolic and I have quoted this scripture from John often and they still don't get it. If some Catholics ever received the Eucharist the way these Protestants reverence their grape juice and cracker wouldn't that be something.:):)
Father would eating his flesh and drinking his blood also in a way represent his bloody sacrifice? We are responsible for his death so we must partake in this meal to be redeemed ?
