My name is Jon Reynolds! I am the owner of Complete Technology Solutions and Alternate Arms Self Defense. I am a huge advocate of non-lethal self defense and technology. I am particularly interested where the two merge.
We will be focusing on computer, IT, and Non-Lethal self-defense related projects. No form of technology will be overlooked! We will be exploring many different devices, hardware configurations, network solutions, gaming devices, lasers, self-defense items, pepper ball guns, stun guns, and computer maintenance. Please come on in, have a seat, and enjoy!
OK, Yes and/or no.. :) (I hate answers like that too) Its easier to pull the valve and push the block out from the front. However, I have been able to grab the insert with pliers and even a screw at one point.
That was exceptional my friend. There is a lot of good stuff on RU-vid, but everything about this was perfect. Clear, concise, upbeat without being hyper. The best I have seen. Letting go of an old destructive addiction and letting in a positive enjoyable addiction. I love this stuff| Thank You.
Hello people. I'm looking for a replacement valve cap. The one on the back where the red indicator pops out to let you know there is pressure. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great. I have searched the internet and cant seem to find that specific part. Thanks in advance.
It would, however, remember with the less and lethal launchers that there is a point of diminishing returns when it comes to weight versus velocity. I’ve never enjoyed using steel rounds. I actually prefer rubber/steel or aluminum. Also, don’t forget to mix in high-quality pepper ball.
Dollar for dollar, I’ll take the salt all day long and twice on Sunday. Byrna thinks they have the market cornered. I don’t see anything there that justifies a $500 price tag. Sorry….not sorry.
@@robertclark9 Yeah, salt supply really shook up the market with this launcher. I'm hoping it continues a steady trend of new products and improvements.
Five rounds is plenty in that weapon. If you spend some time on the range. I wouldn’t carry it, or any other weapon for that matter until I thoroughly checked out on it. One well placed round would take most opponents out of the fight with that one.
Correct! Generally, most confrontations are settled in the first 3 rounds and there simply is nothing near as powerful as the Gavle out of the box. Thanks for watching!
@@AlternateArmsSD thanks for letting me know! I only bought 8 rounds of them so thankfully I didn't waste too much money. which pepper balls would you recommend with high OC concentration? by the way, your videos are extremely helpful and informative, I appreciate it. I just upgraded my valve spring thanks to you :)
@@envy9948 My pleasure man! I went through several brands before I finally settled on having mine manufactured. I met up with a company at SHOT Show in January 2022 and I’ve been working with them ever since :-) the ones I have on my website are actually the ones that I get from them.
I’ve looked at the description but I don’t see the website to purchase these bad boys. The Etsy site said nothing is for sale. Where exactly do I go to get one of these? Thanks!
I see a mister do >>Power mod and steel barrel extension, here is the result with a CHRONY test of the t4e Glock 43 which is modified for plinking (10J). I worked on the valve, air chamber and spring. My primary objective was to hide a long barrel in the fischer silencer, which would have been more powerful. But being able to remove it in a second is really pleasant and the technical challenge attracted me. It's still a prototype, im sure I can reach 15 joules with a few adjustments between the two barrels or with 2gr ball 👍 Next steps may be a longer firing pin, and work on the hammer, but I want to keep the blowback. Btw : I was not aiming the target, I was looking through the camera, it does not reflect the accuracy.
I dont YET.. Sheer lack of time I assure you. At some point in the future I can see the channel replacing my day job though. When that happens, Ill be going all out on mods and upgrades.
Jon, thank for updating your payment options. I was finnally able to order on you website. Now im waiting for a specific toy for you to sell. Thanks again for what you do, especially for us seniors...Happy 4th everyone.
I love your videos. I have a t4e hdb 68 caliber. You were talking at one point on how to upgrade the joules yet I have not seen them video. Can you send me the link please? Thank you.
@@DingleBerryschnapps Heh Brother, I absolutely respect your opinion but I have to disagree.. This thing is a work of art. After you get the hang of it it’s actually quite simple. Also, he made a few changes to some internal mechanisms before they started shipping. They are pick up and fire now :-) Thank you so much for watching!
@@gobradon that is one of my only major complaints with Byrna. Presumably, they don’t put the CO2 in the magazine due to space constraints. the grip is built around the 68 caliber rounds and the width of the magazine, and that is about it. For comparison, if you pick up a pepper ball TRP, you will see the difference. The grip is very very bulky.
Do the flywheel supose to be free to turn when is on? when I use it with rubber ball shoot 2 with no problem but i can see the weight turn the flywheel it back shooting on blank on the next click.
NO, if it is free then you caught your spring on the front of the barrel between the two halves of the case when you closed it. The barrel should move freely and snap back when you pull it out with your finger. That reverse pressure is what puts pressure on the drum.
@@travisnelson8230 That’s definitely strange. I’ve only seen that issue if the detents were worn or the grommet around the valve spring hangs up on the spring and doesn’t seal well between shots.
She looks like she’s having a lot of fun. My wife loves the PPQ. It’s loaded with aluminum balls. About a ten foot shot from couch to front door and she’s deadly accurate. Of the whole collection she goes for this as her living room launcher.
Do you know if the Grimburg Gavel no executioner or jury , can pop out shaped rounds ? Because using my round aluminum makes it bounce alot unless it's weak material but if I can used a sharp tip round or any shape round that go forward I bet it can pierce a type of metal... So for short too long don't read ... CAN THESE FIRE SHAPED ROUNDS?
You seem too kind in this video. They get an F or a D from me, depending on my mood. Firstly, the Gen4 valve's look the same as the Gen 3, so there is no way to tell the difference. They should have an easy way to distinguish the valve, by only taking apart the plastic casing of the launcher. I contacted some sellers of these launchers, none could give me a 100% guarantee of what valve it was, only guesses and assumptions. So I contacted Umarex directly, providing them a serial number, they told me they cannot figure it out from serial number. So I guess there is absolutely no way to determine what type of valve it is. When it should be printed on the outside of the box what valve it has. I don't know why such unprofessional business practices get such praise, it is kind of comical in a way, because on the other hand a lot of companies sell outright scams, so a company gets an A+ just for not selling scams to people. Overall, I give Umarex a C or B- as a company... they offer value at lower than usual prices, and the actual materials quality is of good quality, but you cannot count on their engineering department to make the wise choices.
Good video as always. My next launcher purchase will be the Pepperball TRP. Really like the trigger. I’m sure you noticed Byrna is selling the hiviz sights. Let’s be careful out there.
I purchased a HiViz sight kit for an SD I have. It took about 25 minutes to install. Yeah, I’m getting old. Really like the sights but think Byrna should offer as an option. Happy 4th of July. Let’s be careful out there.
that looks solid but the glass breakers at the end of the vid showed quite a bit of drop off in power, I agree to use the pepper rounds wish I could get out there to see you but I work every weekend until 5pm I might be able to come out during the week. I need to pick up some supplies from you.
Essentially, it’s a short jumper to the pins on the raspberry. It’s the same basic principle as the nespi cases. I have a more recent video of an upgrade on another arcade one up that you might take a look at. I think I go more into detail and I’ve got links.
@@AlternateArmsSD That fit perfectly in my arcade! I clicked on the link for the "script for soft power on/off" but it do not work. Do you have another link?
@@ramonrivera837 OK... Try this script and wire the switch to pins 5 and 6.. wget -O - "raw.githubusercontent.com/crcerror/retroflag-picase/master/install.sh" | sudo bash
Agreed, I didn’t want to go too far into the weeds on this. I have another one. I’m going to drop tonight on a batocera build. After I get the initial “simple how to use” out-of-the-way, I will go more into depth.
