Funny you should ask :) I have a gel head on order :) Practice is key in any self defense scenario and shot placement is critical. (Along with contingency plans if all else fails)

Definitely. Trial and error will show this to be true

Plus removing the. 50 power restriction aka co2 restrictor and boom you get 20 to 25 joules for just removing a piece but only get one mag shots. Still it's a crazy upgrade.

Agreed! Thanks for reminding me on one VERY important point. Though they are less than lethal, you can be slapped with a brandishing charge if you wave them around. Use the same common sense you would with a firearm.

@@AlternateArmsSDJon, it was both the content and the presentation. Other than just talking about the choice of LTL, but about how to use the LTL in self defense. You breakdown kinetic vs chem rounds and when to deploy them. This is probably one the first videos that you didn't fire something to show what it will do to a plastic skull. As Bruce Lee once said, "________ don't fight back" (fill in the blank). Keep up the regular videos of LTL weapons available, but also remind us that these are LTL and deterrents, not deadly force weapons (even though mass plus velocity and a vulnerable impact zone could result in serious damage). And as we say in the Marines... Semper Fi Mac!

During that test with skully, I was at 25-30 feet. I try to stay in that range (even though it an out of the “normal” self defense range) Depending on the launcher, they can be surprisingly accurate.

I suspect they will but I doubt the more powerful selections will have blowback. It just consumes too much energy.

Sounds good man! I have a ton of quick pierce mags in order but they are out of stock for some reason.

I use 1g nylon balls 200 for like 14-17$ by lambid. They are 1g vs 1.8g aluminum metal. I've done testing and nylons actually hit way harder because it pierced my ice cooler while the metal just last a dent.

I’ve talked to them endlessly about a more compact launcher.. what we got was the EP which was discontinued after a year :) They have something in the works but they are very tight lipped about it.

Yeah, for kinetic defense I’d look to the HDP50 (modded), Byrna, Salt Supply, Grimburg, or TRP. They pack a heck of a punch.

I’ve done several tests with spreads based on velocity vs payload. Generally, with a high quality pepper ball and low to no wind, you will have a coverage of about 9 square feet with a .43 cal. For home protection, I’d go higher power kinetic rounds.

Yeah, California seems more concerned with protecting the rights of the criminals than the rights of its own citizens. You might look into the Salt Supply S3 for kinetic defense.

This community is amazing. You’d be surprised how few there are but.. there is always someone with that attitude. Who knows, perhaps I can make a dent and make a change :)

@@AlternateArmsSD actually , i have come up years ago on eight other delivery system methods , can use paintball launcher ,air rifle , bow and arrow , and shotgun !!! this ammo would revolutionize the less lethal industry , if i were to mention it ,trust me every company would steal my ideas like so many in the past and steel my credit and money ! these would have to use another idea of mine who mercury rise capitalized on the extended revolver cylinder , like i said before , i begged umarex to extend the cylinders way over a year before mercury rise came out with there version , i also tried to get them to make a slightly longer HDP that shoots .68 cal ammo , its been over 2 to 3 years and no reply from usa or germany yet lol !!! anyway if i ever get a lathe , 3D printers , cnc machines the things i have got to put out would blow peoples minds LOL !!! great show my awesome brother !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From my understanding you were only doing the mods and not selling the springs separate but I guess it is what it is. @@Mootzshootz that’s weird brother, I never actually saw that comment. Something that might interest you, the spring that you’re using in the spring that I’m using are actually a little bit different. I conducted some testing with different materials, as well as different coil strengths, and tensions. I came up with one that gave me a little bit more power with less chance of blow by at the end of the C02.

You want a very potent mixture of pava and oc. I have a great mixture on my website. Stay away from the lancer tactical rounds. They are …. Ok … but not extremely potent.

The answer isnt super clear though as it depends on several factors. 9The age of your magazine, maintenance done, weather conditions, and temperature variations). For day to day carry Id suggest a quick pierce magazine. That way all of the pressure is there the second you need it. However, if you are going to edc with the standard magazine, Id change it no less than weekly. It gives you a great opportunity to practice with your launcher.

Goodness, it would take me a ton of time to properly correct you here but we will just shorten it up. Also, we will just discount the fact that every police force, military, and security services uses them daily. The powder isn’t supposed to “stick” to the target. The powder is extremely fine and lingers in the air. Wind can affect it but the primary bulk is forced into the target and surrounds it. Solid rounds at 30J dont just “bounce off.” Perhaps is your target is wearing a parka or the outfit the kid was wearing in “a Christmas story”, sure. That being said, that’s what the powder is for. Also, practice and pick your target. Hit the ground in front of the tarter, the roof above them, the wall beside them, or hit a vulnerable area (head, leg, knee, neck, etc” It is true that C02 can be affected by cold hence the need for a quick pierce method and a reason to NOT leave a launcher charged. Kimbers and great but have there own drawbacks not the least of which is range, accuracy, and one shot per customer ;) Also, keep in mind that less than lethal launchers are not a replacement for a firearm, they are an augment to your overall self defense toolbox.
