Good thing you killed Peychar, it saves you some trouble later. On my first playthrough, I talked to him when I caught him sneaking around. I was foolishly convinced by him that he's not there to kill Konrad, so we went back to Talmberg. Then Peychar assasinated Konrad, good thing he has plot armor, he was knocked out instead of being dead. So I have to chase after him to kill him. He was fast, and I was full in full gear so I couldn't catch up to him. Funny thing is he bumped into Sir Divish who was going back to his camp on the other side, then Peychar started attacking him. So I finally caught up to him and killed him, when I tried to talk to Sir Divish, he looked battered and bloodied.😂 Later when I talked to Konrad after he recuperated, he was furious at me because I didn't believe him that Peychar was there to kill him and was almost got killed.😅
No no it will be little bit longer than you think. You can complete Prybyslavitz meanwille. With Johankas trail,I dont think that you cannot done better.Maybe if she flee I dont know.Havel Medek was the one who imprisoned Divish for seven years and delete Pryby from the map.Try to interact with someone for instance Hans,he was there in a battle.Enyoy😃
@@heyamarii Girl I thought you were into the franchise how can you just forget lmao🤣 Anyway I like that you knew the references from the show, they released one more bonus episode after five you should play too btw, and also I suggest from others I've seen exploring more (like really everything) and not go straight to your main objective if you want to find the side stuff they give you sometimes.
This game came out when I was playing BG3 and my workload was absolutely insane at the same time 😂 I think by January, half my brain was no longer functioning properly with how much work I had on my plate. I have a terrible memory to be fair 😂 if it’s not written in my calendar, it never existed
(11:54) Zmola next morning: "Oh man, what a nightmare! So real I can still feel all the punches I've received during that terrible dream." Must have been some bug in crime system, but it was really funny. (01:10:21) That hen must have been FLATtered playing one of the main roles in the cutscene. Fun fact - quote from KCD Cinematic Designer Martin Komárek: "There actually is a running joke throughout all cutscenes. In every single one of them, appropriate or not, there's a hen somewhere in some form. And let me tell you, sometimes it was very challenging to find a spot for it and we had to be very creative."
I held my breath when Zmola was walking back to bed! He’s totally convinced I was just a nightmare 😂 Now I’m going to look for a chicken in each cutscene when I replay. I never noticed! That last hen getting smooshed was such a Monty Python humour, I love it
Aside from climbing the walls then sheathing your sword you did really well 😁They set up the next game so well with that unexpected epilogue at the end. I can't wait to watch you take the fight to Sigismund in the KC:D 2 series ⚔
I cannot believe I sheathed my sword up there lol! I think I was trying to bring up my shield and did the opposite 😂 That epilogue was an emotional roller coaster for me, I always get so sad when a game is ending. The cliffhanger it ends on!! Can you imagine if I had to wait 6 years?! I wouldn’t survive
BTW Konrad is voiced / face-modeled by known UK actor Brian Blessed, there is one fun behind the scenes video from making of KCD 1 on Warhorse RU-vid channel, if you wanna check it out - just search "Kingdom Come: Deliverance Brian Blessed Konrad Kyeser"
I quite liked this quest. It really shows the enormous influence of the church on pretty much all matters back then. The nobility didn't actually help either. Then again, can't go saying people should be kind to one another. Might get you killed. As for why you didn't have the best ending, that didn't seem surprising to me after Johanka pretty much attacked the bishop directly.
This quest sticks out to me as one of my favourites. The way there was always a sense of foreboding, it escalates slowly, there is reflection in my own sins, the story hits so many directions that it feels like a love letter to the people in this time. I wish I figured out how to save her and ask her to recant in the end. It was hard hearing that we may never see her again
Failing a lock picking attempt makes a noise, which woke the dude up. Maybe he's programmed to be easier bc the main quest kinda demands you stealing something right under his nose? Definitely didn't feel quite right that he didn't remember anything. "Hide in the garden" got me.. Took me half an hour to find out they meant shed or barn when they said "garden" lmao That isn't dirty clothes, that's torn clothes. It's a bit hard to see what's what sometimes depending on the model. Didn't even talk to Peychar once and just killed him lol. But he totally would've manipulated you and turned you around had you talked to him lmao Yeah you can only click the inventory slots directly to un-equip, but not to equip sadly. Load-outs are gonna be so sweet. 95% of bad guys wear black or dark brown, good guys wear colours. When in armour anyway, civilian clothing can vary somewhat. Yep, those were bad guys.
Zmola just sleep walks and fights 😂 he probably does it on the regular so was too embarrassed to bring it up with me. The herb garden was way too far away from the door for me to hide there, and there wasn’t anywhere to hide. I was so curious about telling my Peychar to stay away from Konrad, but I had a feeling he would have fled or something if I brought that up. I wanted to end him 👀 I’m SO EXCITED for the loadouts in KCD2. I wonder how many we get? Maybe 1 for fighting, 1 for being sneaky sneaky, and 1 for walking around town? That’s going to add so much more to my immersion since switching gear wouldn’t be so tedious.
@@heyamarii I just crouched in the bushes with dark clothes on.. That scared him away the first two nights because I wasn't in the shed and then got him on the third night. :D I don't wanna spoil too much with Peychar but he's got a split tongue that dude. I think it's going to be 3 fully custom load-outs from what we've seen. I wonder if the loud-out tags stay on items that are moved to the horse's saddle bags or the personal trunk though..
@Bassalicious that’s why I was crouching in the bush during daylight, to see if the guard Urban can see me 😂 he kept talking to me, so I knew he could see me. Three loadouts is EXACTLY the number I need. Ffffff February feels so far away. At least the Xmas season will keep us busy, but January is going to feel like a slog
What a great Let's Play to watch 😁 Ive said this before, but your immersion in the game really made the viewing experince so much better. Definitely checking your playthrough of KCD2 out first thing (After ive played it myself 👀) 🙌
Thank you so much for being a big part of this journey with me. I’m feeling post-game depression real bad, I already miss the game. I’ll be seeing you again in February! 🤍 audentes fortuna iuvat
Giiiirl, off recording I would go kiss Cullen many many many times 😂😂😂😂 that smirk made me into jello every time. Goddamn that fictional man lives in my head
@Nico.LaMarr 100% we ought to be recognised for our tastes in men. Do you, by chance, read Romantasy? 👀 my friend and I only just discovered this book genre a couple of months ago. The amount of tumbling I do in bed reading these books because of how giddy I feel, I should get a gold medal in the Olympics.
@ oh, I *absolutely* read romantasy. My collection is either impressive or embarrassing, depending on who you might ask. And the booktok/bookstagram girlies sometimes make video recs based on games you love. I just saw a video earlier tonight for Astarion Stans 🤣🤣🤣 love the community and adore you even more for joining it 🥰
@Nico.LaMarr I just discovered bookstagram/booktok in September and I’m all in. I’ve been an avid reader most of my life, but never knew this genre existed until July! Ok bestie, hit me with the good ones. I finished Fourth Wing and Iron Flame (IM DYING FOR ONYX STORM), I read all of ACOTAR in like a week or something 🫣 I’m about to start Daughter of No Worlds. I need a book that has “Cullen” in it. Gimmeeeee
I really like the story about Vranik. Again very nicely played. I let the bad guy go. Today I think it was a mistake. You made the right decision, thanks.
Vranik was fun! I really liked infiltrating the camp as a spy, getting caught was scary though. Zbyshek deserved it! I hate not keeping to my word, but I did swear I would get him back for bring the bandits down on me at the beginning of the game
As Henry, we do so much growing up in this game - from simple beginnings we learn to sword fight, hunt, make potions, etc and really become a man. I love that we see the same parallel growth in Sir Capon, so it’s like we’re growing up together. I think that’s what makes their friendship so genuine
Told ya it was gonna be rough. You need to do everything right and also get that one dialogue with Matthew, it's stupid hard to get on the fist try. I like how it's written, how it plays with you and manipulates you only to kick you in the nuts as soon as their status is even questioned..
This was so tough, but probably one of my favourite quests in the entire game. The way the story moves is beautifully done and very emotional. I’m saving her next time, I want Johanka to be with Matthias for the rest of their lives
@@heyamarii Great timing finishing the game the day before DAV comes out 😊Have you seen the website yet? I know that you've been super busy trying to wrap this up.
@Duskwind_ you know, I didn’t plan for this series to end the day before DAV, but it’s like fate handled this for me! I’ve been avoiding all dragon age content online for a month because there are way too many spoilers now. That, and it’s been incredibly toxic. I’m a little worried about the comment section turning into a trash fire when I put the LP videos out
Getting the best ending is really hard. And you almost made it, you did everything right, except one very important thing - you must persuade Johanka not to speak against the church during the trial. It's not easy. How to do it is already described in several comments here, so no need to elaborate same thing again. BTW Best ending is still not a perfect one. Johanka is not punished by whipping, but she still must admit her wrongdoings, do some repentance, and leave the infirmary for good. At least they end up together with Matthias, and you can invite them both to the Pribyslavitz.
I was so close! I just missed Matthias, I thought I was very thorough, and I thought the trial was going so well in Johanka’s favour. But she still spoke out against the church :(( It’s hard to silence her though, her words are quite strong, but she isn’t wrong so I can’t tell a friend to censor themselves. It’s not a perfect ending you’re right, even I see it. But the chance for her to have a happily ever after with Matthias might have been worth telling her to recant.
I also had this ending on my first playthrough, though she had a lighter punishment, her being taken away was still sad.😢 Nicodemus said that she must show humility during the trial. When he asked if she have any family left, I also forgot about Mathias, well technically their not family yet. Johanka believes that in order to heal Mathias, she must continue her preaching. Mathias already woke up, and you need to speak to him and convince Johanka on his behalf. Other than that, you did well to defend her, in the end it's all up to whether you convinced her to show humility or not. Just to add, that Sebastián Vom Berg, really ticks me off and probably one of the most hated character in KCD, always putting on airs because he's a noble. Not only did he took advantage of Johanka, even suggesting to kidnap her and let her live in his estate probably as a mistress. He's also the most likely suspect behind the monasteries involvement in the forgery of silver. He's also in cahoots with a robber baron as mentioned when your trying to retrieve Capon's necklace. I remember also paying him just to get more supplies for the infirmary. Lucky for him that I already did my penance, or else I would have sneaked in to his house and stealth kill him in his sleep.
When Henry said we may never see her again, that put a nail in my heart 🥺 it was definitely Johanka’s feelings of helplessness that fueled her to speak out, and also help others. I understand her in that way, when I feel helpless about a situation I tend to reach out and help others because that’s within my power. Omg Sebastian! I hate that slimy prick. When he said to kidnap her and cart her off to his estate, I KNEW what he had in mind for her. I was ready to assassinate him right there.
Sadly, caning her and forcing her to become a nun was the church's version of mercy at the time. Burning her at the stake was a far more likely outcome. Welcome to 16th century Europe 😢
It's call a kangaroo trial. It's mean's that the verdict has been decided before the trial started. You can see that the inquisitor is looking for anything to justify the decision that he already made!
I'd understand if you replay that part and try to get the good ending:D because it really seems that you dislike this ending even though its the neutral one:) Also, how they portraied the trial & the cutscene afterwards is just sooo good. You can really feel the stakes and you dont really know what will happen.
Upon reflection, I do like the poetic bittersweetness of this ending. Sometimes pain laced around joy makes for a better story. It still hurt me when Henry said we may never see her again, but she lives, and that’s better than an execution. I’m saving her the next time though. I may even just replay that one section to get the good ending for my own heart to heal
I think that as a medieval christian Henry would be far more likely to believe in miracles and the virgin speaking through people than you are. Many people were martyred by the church and later raised to sainthood by same church. Jeanne d'Arc was burned at the stake in 1431 and declared a saint in 1456! Henry would most certainly have heard of her. Remember, this was in the days when a potato that even slightly resembled the visage of Christ would be sent to Rome to be deemed a miracle, and then kept at the Vatican in a jewel-encrusted crystal egg 🤣
Jeanne d'Arc became famous after she was involved in siege of Orléan in April 1429. Henry could have heard about her - that is if he lived long enough after game events. He probably would think something about strange coincidence because Jeanne d'Arc name in czech language is "Johanka z Arku".
@@global_asa_wenca Very interesting, I didn't realize that Jeanne was Johanka in czech. For some reason I thought that the game was set around 1500 AD. I was only a hundred years off 🤣
Woah! The similarities between Jeanna d’Arc and Johanka by name is a nice detail, and their stories are similar! Both were answering to a divine calling. That’s a beautiful injection of another story in history
Giirl, I would not hold at all against You if you just reload and did the one thing missing - you did basically everything else diligently 🙂 There is hint when Nicodemus is asking Henry about Johanka's family / friends... so you need to speak with Mathias before starting the trial. I missed it too on my 1st playthrough, got the same outcome you did. Also whole quest is really good, one of my favorite in game, also hints at many upcoming historical events - Jan Hus and his preaching against hypocrisy of the Church, ended with him burned at stake in 1415 and war starting cause of it few years afterwards.
Another comment suggested her story parallels Jeanne d’Arc, and that Johanka is Czech for Jeanne! The similarities in their story is compelling - both answering to a divine calling. I love this quest, even if I got a bittersweet ending (more bitter than sweet). I’m going to save her the next time I play, to give her the happily ever after she deserves with Matthias
Yea, this one's a tightrope. First off, it's not a trial in the usual sense. It's a challenge to the Church's power -- an underlying theme in this series. The Inquisitor was reasonable within that context; Johanka's lack of humility is what condemned her. This is obviously not acceptable by modern standards but... :/ You really did need Mattias' die. It would have convinced her not that she was doing Mary's will but that she'd already accomplished it. This would have given her a reason to live (seeing Mattias again) and made her more contrite before the Inquisitor. Visiting Mattias at the right time to get the die from him, sadly, is largely a matter of luck.
That’s how I felt, I think the Inquisitor only cared about one thing; that she recant being outspoken and serve penance for it. Everything else is just a trial of her character and even if the Inquisitor agreed with me, it didn’t amount to anything for him.
At 1:05:13 the quest log gave you the hint: "Johanka will come to a bad end if I can't convince her. She still has some loved ones from Skalitz here though..." Johankas visions started being sleepless worrying about Matthias not getting better. Her fears become to anger and unloaded against Inquisitor Jaroslav at the end of her trial. This whole quest was about Johanka's love to Matthias and her great imagination, which was already shown in Theresa's story in Skalitz before the raid. Johanka's quest (The Madonna of Sasau) and Theresa's story are both part of the "A Woman's Lot" DLC.
I was about to check on Matthias to see if he was ok, but I forgot! I can’t believe I was so close to saving her, and didn’t because I got distracted by another portion of the quest. This is a beautiful story, I agree with you th at her visions stem from her helplessness in Matthias’ condition.
One thing is certain: it is not easy to get the happy ending of this quest, although the worst ending is especially brutal and inhumane. I also find it interesting to note that the executioner has an unhappy appearance during the task. As much as the player may not like what he/she sees (especially because the DLC demands perfectionism throughout its stages), I believe that the game does a great job of portraying a time when the Church was one of the hegemonic powers and, in this case, played the role of police and judge in the daily lives of the population. There is a bitter reminder in History of this. On the other hand, it would be fascinating to see this quest generate another "mission" for Henry if he wanted to free his friend with some crazy plan to extract her from the convent. Perhaps she could even escape in secret with Matthias to a more distant and safe location - if all went well. A romantic adventure tempered by true friendship would be legendary. There was immense potential to develop other "alternative" endings. In the event of a happy ending, Henry could invite the couple to live in Pribyslavitz. Otherwise, Henry would create a plan to rescue Johanka from a sad and isolated future. Matthias could "convince" her to run away during a later private conversation (a very difficult opportunity created by the protagonist). Even if she is afraid, confused or resigned to her punishment, Matthias would be the light at the end of the tunnel for her. Then, at the end of the successful "impossible mission", Henry could give the two money so they can seek refuge in another location giving destiny another chance to be happy together.
I think this quest has got to be one of my favourites because of how well it’s written. It flows really well, with a constant sense of foreboding. The executioner (Herman right?) didn’t look happy when he made eye contact with Henry… like he too knew that this wasn’t a deserved punishment but we all bow to the church. Oh man I wish there was a rescue mission for Johanka! That would have been amazing if Matthias and Henry could bust her out of that convent heist-style. Her romance with Matthias is remarkable; tender and caring. I’m going to be giving her that happily ever next time I play
@heyamarii True. (Minor spoiler alert about this quest) Speaking of romantic misadventures, one of the "hidden" steps to getting the best ending is to convince Johanka that she needs to back down from the Church, admit her "mistake" and show humility. Henry can't do this alone, only Matthias can, even though he's bedridden but finally conscious. It's interesting to note that the person she wants to save is literally the only way to make her change her behavior, which will be considered offensive and arrogant in front of the Inquisitor. In this alternative ending proposed by our imagination involving Johanka's rescue, the only bitter side would be that Henry would have to say goodbye to his friends (perhaps forever) and both would have to rebuild their lives from scratch (again). Still, it would be magical to be blamed for helping build a better future for both of them.
God that is a beautiful written story; the man she is trying to save is the only one who can save her. I got goosebumps!! What a subtly beautiful love story. This is my favorite quest. It really stands out to me
@@heyamarii Yep. Oh, and an interesting detail in the way Matthias decides to convince her is symbolic and revealing: since he is still too weak to stand up and Johanka is in the custody of the Church, he sends the oral message through Henry and gives him his lucky dice as "proof" of the authenticity of the authorship. You know... the same dice that Johanka asks Theresa to take secretly so that she can return it to the owner herself and thus be invited to dance at the night party (Theresa DLC). Henry doesn't know this context, but Matthias says that she "will understand". Beautiful.
There's no two ways around it, Johanka must be convinced to speak humbly for the good ending to the quest - that's where Matthais and his dice come in. I didn't do it either, because I didn't want to defy the inquisitor, but she just has to shoot herself in the foot. I suppose the convent life isn't that bad - as long as you don't have a quest to murder someone in it.
I should have tried harder to convince her, I should have checked on Matthias :(( I feel so bad that she didn’t get her ending with Matthias. At least she’s alive though
