My name is Jake. My wife and I reached Barista F.I.R.E. in 2023 at the age of 37.
JL Collins pioneered the idea of investing into VTSAX (VTI) as the simple path to wealth. Inspired by JL Collins, I created the simple path to wealth with dividend investing to reach financial independence. I believe those seeking to live off of a dividend portfolio should adopt a similar approach as suggested by JL Collins. My take on the simple path to wealth with dividend investing is to buy SCHD/DGRO, buy as much as you can whenever you can and hold them forever.

You posted a video 6 or so months ago and read some analyst predictions for 2023 and 2024. 2023 predictions were incredibly wrong for the most part which is what you discussed. It sure doesn’t look like they are doing much better for 2024 either. The weatherman has a better record 30 days out compared to some of these “analysts”. Haha Jake, you’ve said it 1,000 times before and I’ll say it again for you…investing is incredibly emotional! Just being aware of this fact alone helps me stay invested and continue buying what I know are safe long term picks. Have a plan, Pick your vehicle, and keep on cruising. I truly believe that enjoying the journey will make the destination that much more beautiful in the end!
Hi Jake , been fan for a while I would love if u would go in depth and make a video about growth investing , creating growth portfolio with a few etf with core and satellite approach , because those type of investments for longer term investing that yong people benifit from and all the other people for their Roth IRA. Love to hear your tips to increase salary in roles. How you found roles right for you to get that pay bump! I also have a masters (MBA), doing consulting at $80k right now, getting the W2 higher will go a long way in increasing my investing.
I love your videos, Jake! So inspiring. I also lived in Germany for 3 years, and I've been in Dubai for 6.5 years. Getting there on my pursue to FIRE !
I sold my 350 STAG shares! STAG was growing their dividend less than 1% per year I chose to put that money into HESM that is growing their dividends about 5% per year and REXR has averaged 18% dividend growth over the last 5 years
So I'm in my 20s but I'm looking at moving to the Philippines in like a year so I could potential be "retired" by then. I have picked out a couple others already. O, JEPI, SRET, QYLD, MAIN, Thinking of adding SPYI and SPHD possibly even schd as a quartly paying stock. I'm mainly just targeting monthly stocks but based on what I have here is there one you might suggest I add?
Were you the best salesman ever? You grew your income from $40k to $115k in 4 years? then over $160k in another 4 years. That’s very UNCOMMON dude. Then you double in 1 year from $175k to $260k. Yeah ok, like the average person is going to do that. This video was just you flexing on the internet. This doesn’t help normal working folks. I am not impressed with your $2M. At these income levels, you should be WELL beyond $2M. I didn’t crack $100k until year 9 as a senior military officer. By the end of my career (20 year mark), I finally cracked $150k. I made substantial less income than you throughout my working years and I retired and left the rat race at 43 with $2.250k. I am not impressed.
another great video! I am so close to my first $100k in investments! Do you have a list of your videos a "beginner" should watch on your channel? I opened a M1 account after watching some of your videos and if you have any videos that show how to use M1 that would be great! I like the M1 "pies" interface, so I am looking forward to using it, but I am not sure how to start when it comes to making a "dividend growth" pie. Thanks!

I currently have 5% total of 50/50 SPYI/QQQI of my portfolio. As someone with about a 12 year horizon. My core consists of SCHD/DGRO/VGT. I plan on selling out of VGT (once I retire from military and redistribute to a more income based fund.
Given passive investment in the market as a whole, the stock market is now a lagging indicator. Dig into it, look up Mike Green. Y'all will be just fine, but don't blindly invest thinking it only goes up. <3
Things that I've learned the hard way, let yours winners run, think long term, don't sell companies that have great futures ahead of them for a quick buck. I regret selling a lot of different holdings when I did, I feel over time, I'm becoming better and better, and have an improved mindset when it comes to investing. Hope all is well man!!
Really well said! It can be so hard to not sell your winners. I'm not a momentum investor.. but not not fixing something that doesn't need to be fixed can be hard. Appreciate you taking the time to stop by and watch!!
