We're Ciara and Molly, a married couple living with our dog Louie and over 70+ plants in a tiny, second story apartment in NYC, aka "The Jungle Upstairs."
Our channel is a no-judgement zone where we navigate common plant issues, share how you can build your own jungle at home, gush over #plantgoals, experiment with DIY home projects around the house, and of course, take you plant shopping!
Here's the "who's who"...
Ciara is the plant guru, who - when she's not restyling the apartment for the hundredth time - can be found chatting with her houseplants like they're best friends.
Molly is the ultra-devoted dog mom, blessed with black thumb and a deep confusion as to why we even have this many houseplants in the first place.

Thanks for easy on the eye (:)))) propagation video of Monstera. These plants at your home looked fabulous, especially the one next to your bed. Can you please help people like us with a little bit more information like, 1) what kind of soil mixture do you use? 2) Fertilizers and usage frequency 3) Watering frequency Thanks a ton in advance.
You got guts... I have 3 of mostera which I just change size in pots every year...😅 But can't find strength to cut it .. even it gets heavy all the time . 8 yrs old monstera and it's huggggeee
Hello, My corn plant was looking beautiful seemed healthy, but was growing sideways in the pot. It eventually fell over so I figured it was time for a new pot. It is a 5” tree and I was surprised at how little root system there was, but I repotted in a pot about 2” wider and deeper. The new potting soil was very wet, but I went with it. That was about 4 mo. ago. I was waiting for the dirt to dry out more. The dirt feels dry about 6” down and cool lower. The leaves are starting to look ruffly on the edges and some are yellowing a little. The stalk looks good and I was wondering if I should water and it has not been fertilized for about a year. I’d love to save this plant if possible, I hope you can advise. Thank you for reading!
Keep it up. This is good information and you’re super cute. Nice presentation. My only suggestion is wearing shirts that have flowers on them shirts and or dresses.
My kittens climbed in my monstera pot and played with it. All of my stems are broken and I don't think they have nodes close to where it's broken. Is there any chance I might be able to propagate these or at least save my plant?
Why do westerners like to talk SO MUCH? Just give us the critical information and SHOW US. It is the same with cooking clips. There is just TOO MUCH TALKING. I just want to know how it is done. THATS IT.
Thank you so much for this video I have monstera and I really really love her so much she is like my own baby and now I know how plant her in water and then transfer her into soil thanks to you I’ll do it this week thank u so much I have a question she started to have new leaves but the leaves won’t open and die quickly what should I do ?
Ok, so I am very scared, just propagated my very first leaf. My Monstera is huge, had it for a couple years. Have you tried hydroponics with any of your monsteras?
I’m so so happy I found your video I’ve looked through so many videos to find a Monstera that grew like the one that I have so I can know how to properly do it because I did not want to butcher this baby lol
Thanks for the propagating information. One question....do you do anything to the surface area on the stems that you cut? ie: do you leave them and they grow from that area?
I didn’t know that’s what they were called. I thought they were scales. I get them also on my indoor stressed plants. Happy to know that measures on the water mixture thanks.
Hii! I was wondering when you cut the monstera with the node do those leaves then produce more leaves or is it going to stay 1 leaf? Like I notice when my plant grows it’s always the newest leaf to produce a newer leaf if that makes sense! *first time monstera plant mom* 🥰
Omg. I had zero luck getting any of my monstera clippings to root. My guy needs a trim again. I'm hoping i have better luck this time. Thanks for the video. I have an air root that somehow found its way into my asparagus fern' pot that is next to it. You can't pull it out. I think it is rooted in there!
My monstera is 43 years old (mum was given it as a present when I was born) I now have to look after it and this is the first time I’m trying to do something with it. Your video has been great as this plant dying terrifies me. So thank you so much.
@@shoshoiLLindividual it was about 5 foot tall but not very bushy. The main root died and it was just living in the air. Now the two main cutting are about 2 1/2 feet each. Hopefully new roots will appear soon.
Just a reminder that if you don’t know but the sun always rises in the east and will always set in the west so no app is needed to know what direction your window is facing really . 😉
