A principled Republican like President Walken would get defeated in the primary by some ludicrous lick spittle Trumper. Think of how Trump treated John McCain.
Imagine that... Caring about what it costs and how that will affect what they hope to achieve- tax cut and education plan... That's how you know it is a TV show and not real life, if it was real life, the politician wouldn't care about the cost and just go further in debt to force their goals upon us
I love Bartlett immediately heading to the press room as much as I love Charlie and Federrer immediately heading to the President. That's love and respect on both sides 💖
Don´t get me wrong. I am very happy for Emily Procter and all the success she had with and after CSI Miami. But losing Ainsley Hayes was devastating. Sam Seaborn´s true "meaningful other" FOR SURE (sorry, step aside Mallory). Does anyone ever dream on how Ainsley Hayes would have dealt with Lord John Marbury? It would have been H-I-S-T-E-R-I-C-A-L.
I'm probably in the minority, but I always thought it was Leo/Josh with the father/son relationship rather than the President/Josh. Josh knows something is up...he's been attached to Leo for so long...but Leo sends him away with a firmness of a father protecting his son. Just heartbreaking.
“But first, you march out there and offer your sincerest apologies to your staff, especially Otto, for your despicable display and hope he forgives you.”
What I love about this season is the visual of all three characters in the Oval Office. Bartlett has been built up and is the default President we recognise in the situation room. Santos has been built up from nothing navigating Democrat primaries beating VP Russell and former VP Hoynes who are built up names in their own right. The you have Vinnick, who is always written to be ready made for the Presidency, crushing the Republican Primaries very quickly before the Democrats are even ready to decide on Santos. All three have been separate for so long in their own respective worlds, finally in the same place meeting as giants.
Leo sent those flowers to Ainsley. I can tell because the handwriting on the note was the same handwriting on the legal pad in "Let Bartlett Be Bartlett".
In really appreciate how they made sure almost every cast member however minor was included in the funeral service. The only one missing was Rob Lowe & his ego.
" It sends a message, kill her or dont the US doesnt negotiate with terrorists" "Screw the Europeans, theyve have had years to convince the middle east to get their house in order" Its amazing how i can go from aphoring a characters sentiments one moment and in less then 30 secs actually sympathize with them in another. I hate his poceived disregard for Zoey, yet i agree with his criticism of Europe not wanting to intervene in the middle east( ironically the British and French DID try and it turned out horriblely).
"iambic pentameter," rather than "Arabic pentameter". "iambic pentameter," which is a common metrical pattern in English poetry consisting of lines with five metrical feet, each foot having an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed syllable. The phrase likely intends to humorously exaggerate or critique the character's formal way of speaking, suggesting that it is overly complex or ornate.
In the passage, this line is part of a humorous exchange. The character initially says, "he's an Englishman," and another character responds with "is from HMS metaphor," likely intending to say "HMS Pinafore," which is another operatic work by Gilbert and Sullivan.
I got- and watched- the box set close to 20 years ago. I keep watching these clips knowing I'm going to have to watch it all over again. It's still better than anything on TV.
Whilst a great scene it’s totally unbelievable. You really think trained Secret Service agents wouldn’t be able to stop Charlie and Fidderer? Or maybe they forgot all their training and just let them in.
I was just about to agree with Leo when he said this 2:13 but then Lionel snapped me back to reality with this 2:17 I swear Leo represents what modern liberalism is and Lionel represents what its supposed to be
