Just for clarification, no team is allowed to test aerodynamic parts out of a practice session, but if they want to film the car, then they can run the car outside of an F1 weekend with limitations
When one compares the overall area of combined intakes on the Ferrari vs Red Bull, rollhoop air box included, you’ll see the former is not necessarily ’safer’. Hope it’s fast.
The overbite is a very small detail in the grad scheme of things, and something Mercedes didnt even do willingly. The RB and Ferrari are true underbites, where the inlet forms part of the undercut itself. Mercedes and Mclaren are are/were normal sidepods with a aerodynamic element placed above the the inlet. Mercedes didnt even do a overbite willingly, their aerodynamic elemnt was a hangover from the zeropods, where it housed the side impact structure so could not be moved
The upgrades are aggresisve, but its not a Red Bull copy for sure. It looks good, hope its fast. And whats this about the Red Bull suffering from cooling issues. Hope thats not the case and we get a competitive field for race wins and podiums in 2024.
Ferrari turning the SF24 into a real weapon! Hope they can find a better way to incorporate hp into the livery as that new logo thrown all over it is the only thing taking away from what looks like the coolest car on grid from an overall design perspective
Mclaren and Ferrari with upgrades at Imola will close the gap a lot much more from Red Bull.I will hope to see a good races like Miami.Imola is a very good and challenge old school circuit.I love this circuits and will see a good race...
jesus if i take a shot for every time mercedes has said “unlocking potential” “better understanding the car” and “better driveability” during these last couple years I would be in a coma for alcohol poisoning
@@urbanspaceman7183 that’s so wild. I had to go back and look at the season results myself and you’re right. Not that either one is doing very good this year. But I guess in my head the China sprint and the drive Lewis had later in the race in Miami sticks in my head with the crash in Australia being the only thing I recall of George this season.
Amazing video! However, Ferrari not bring a single upgrade is not true. According to FIA spec sheets, they've brought 2 performance upgrades, one of them being the little winglets seen at the rear wing pylon back at Australia
Teams tend to not call those itsy small details for upgrades, it doesn't give a substanial performance gain so it's just small steps towards a bigger development plan. Im guessing the package Ferrari is bringing is one of two big performance jumps we'll see this year from them.
I feel people are kind of downplaying McLaren including themselves. They haven't optimised their upgrades and also the 2nd car needs to be overhauled. Also imola has lots of quick changes of direction which the car loves. I'm backing McLaren to atleast be 2nd fastest in imola.
Ferrari's upgrades are already out at Fiorano, and its aggressive. Many teams are bringnign upgrades to Imola, so its going to be an eventful race. Enjoy the video!
Its amazing what kind of disaster man can do by cheating..When you think what he has achived, and then he does something which is pass in your teen age, maybe...We rea,lly think that we are so smart and the world is under our legs, and then she comes, spread those legs......sudenly you are neanderthal..When I look at the world in chaos these days........We failed big time,,
So how far ahead in pace was Mclaren over Ferraris, before mclaren had their upgrade they were 0.1 on avarage behind? If Ferrari are hoping at best 0.2 gain then its sounds it would be problematic to even match MClaren let alone be ahead.
McLaren’s pace was real and Lando’s drive was perfect, he made no mistakes, and worked hard for the win. I have nothing it compliments for him and the team. That aside, a major contributing factor was Red Bull’s arrogance in not putting Max back on the mediums during the SC. The car was hot garbage on the hards. It had no grip and was all over the place. On the mediums, Max was slowly but surely building a gap, despite the tyres being about 20 laps old at the end of his initial stint, whereas Lando had been struggling to pass Checo and the Ferraris on the same compound. Sure, Red Bull didn’t have anymore fresh mediums, but the set used in the sprint was also a used set and Max showed that they were perfectly viable. Max’s greatest strength is not being the outright fastest. It’s being consistent and getting every last hundredth out of the car. We saw this play out last year in Spa, where Max was fourth fastest in sectors 1 & 3, but his constantly perfect sector 2 allowed him to keep building a bigger gap every lap. The utter lack of grip on the hards in Miami robbed him of that strength. Despite how bad the Red Bull was on the hards, plus McLaren’s pace and their fresher tyres being over 20 laps newer, Lando was still only about three-tenths per lap faster than Max on the same compound, so Max may have been able to fight back if they had put him back on the mediums. No guarantee he would win because the used mediums might have dropped off at the end, but staying on the hards guaranteed that Max would not be able to fight back in any way, shape, or form.
It wasnt a surprise Lando won, it was pure luck of the safety car. Had everyone pitted then it he would likely be 5th and all the more reason why pit lane should be closed during safety cars.
I may be wrong. But during the race, Max’ car before the safety has top speed of 306 on straight line where Norris had 317. His csr was set to have more wing because he complained of lack of traction during quali. So, dont be too sure yet about other teams catxhing up. It might be a one of. Although i do hope other teams could stop RBR domination
I knew Ferrari could gain there top place after last years craziness, this year changed it, 2022 was a good year kept up with Red Bull 2023 not so good but 2024 they came back made a few adjustments and it turned into an insane improvements especially the new car let’s go Ferrari keep it up this season 🎉
Weakness in Red Bull, teh car was broken?? That is the only time the others have a fighting chance. Red Bull is still +1 seconds per lap faster than anybody else
Another user who both didn't look at the data nor understands how to read data. Even Max himself knew he didn't have the pace in hand. Lando was setting back to back fastest laps on 20 lap old mediums where Max was a solid 2 tenths behind on NEW hards. Typically, new hards are faster than old mediums. That's how good Lando and that McLaren are.
Mercedes is out of the picture. They need a 2023 McLaren leap now. Logically speaking, its McLaren Red Bull and Ferrari. Ferrari vs Red Bull is the fight, McLaren have some more to fine tune. 2024 is much more interesting than I previously expected.
Well, the Miami GP has proved one thing, and that is that this season is far from over.. In the upcoming few days we will make video's about Ferrari & McLaren upgrades, with especially the Italian squad bringing a massive upgrade to Imola next race, where Vasseur said that he is comfortable they'll be able to fight for wins. Enjoy the video!
